Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She'd spoken to the commander about the SunClan cats going back to their territory to see the damage. To see if it was possible for them to go back home, or if it would ever be. Oceaneyes had no authority over the clan, however, she was a strong and willed warrior who felt able bodied enough to lead this patrol. Oceaneyes sent her gaze around the gathered cats. The ones gathered were cats who had agreed to come along on the patrol to ensure that each cat remained safe, and fed. It was a bit of a journey, but she was sure that they would be able to make it if they worked together. The feline swept her tail, and raised her head. "Is everyone ready to go?" Her voice was level and strong. Despite this, she felt anxious. What would they be walking into whenever they went back into SunClan territory? Would it be survivable? Her thoughts were clouded, but her spirits were strongly hopeful. She could see it in the cats gathered too, they just wanted to go back home, or for the SunClan cats to have a home to go to and be safe.
A black she-cat, her form near implacable amongst the darkness of the regime's tunnel system, stepped forward and looked upon those of her clanmates who had volunteered to accompany Oceaneyes back to their home after the disaster. Inhaling a deep breath in an attempt to quell the anxiety prickling at her nerve endings, she glanced over at the she-cat, silently taking strength from the other she-cat. "It'll be dangerous." She murmured quietly, more than likely her words far too quiet to be heard by others. In crowds such as this, particularly with the strangers from the regime, it was difficult to allow her voice to boom as it often did when she was back in the safety of her home with her clan. She cleared her throat uncomfortably. "No one needs to be a hero on this journey. Watch out for yourselves and for each other." She glanced over at Oceaneyes. "Are you... ready?" Her question was hesitant, different eyes boring into the other she-cat's own.
A cream furred Lynx point tom stepped near the front of the group of volunteers. His eyes filled with determination and he nodded at Oceaneyes’ question. Underneath the determination the young tom felt a sense of dread. What would the group find in there old territory? Would there be anything left? He was curious to see if any of his missing family members had survived. There was a small trickle of hope that Sunclan’s territory would be okay and that cats like his siblings Lacelily and Lambpaw would have a safe home to go back to.
Oceaneyes wrapped her fluffy tail around herself, her ears wiggling for a moment. "I would like to wait a few more moments, to see who else might be willing to accompany us. With the journey being so far away, and unknown obstacles, I don't want to possibly leave a contributor behind." She explained, though worried it was going to just be the three of them. What if they ran into a predator, or another clan's patrol? Anxiety squeezed her, but she did not display this. Instead she kept her head high, confident even.
“Oceaneyes what do you think we will find when we get back to Sunclan’s territory? Do you think any of our missing clanmates will be there?” Lifepaw voice broke through the quiet that had settled over the three cats. He was clinging onto false hope that some of his family members were still alive and had wanted back to Sunclan after the horrors they had endured.
The sound of his distinctive, shuffling gait echoed from further down the tunnel as the warrior hurried to join them from the surface. He cleared the bend, came up behind Oceaneyes, and dipped his head to each cat in turn. "Sorry if I'm late," Frostcry mewed, "I had some trouble getting down."He squeezed past the patrol leader to survey Lifeadventure and Gothicvictory. He didn't know either cat well, and he doubted they knew him either, except perhaps through his stellar reputation as the cat to get injured so soon after his promotion.
He frowned a little when he heard Lifeadventure's question; he suspected he knew the answer but he didn't want to be the one to say it.

A sense of dread settled in the bottom of her stomach at her brother's question and nervousness fluttered around inside of her. None of them really knew what they were returning to, but Oceaneyes had insisted they try and see what was left. Lacelily had never paid much attention to the she-cat but recently was looking upon her with different eyes. There was something about her that reminded the Soothsayer of the many leaders she had met in the past, including her own grandmother. She would continue to hold judgement and watch to see if she was truly the leader that Sunclan deserved.
"We may return to nothing, or there may be plenty. Just know that on our last day there the sun god was not present with us and offered us no protection. I would not get your hopes up." She didn't want to bring everyone down but the silver she-cat certainly didn't want to get anyone's hopes up either. Her and Nightdury had conducted a ritual to appeal to the sun god and ask their ancestors to protect them.. few of them stood here now waiting to see the results of the recent catastrophe.
"But no matter what we find, we will always have each other." Part of that statement was meant for her brother. They had never been particularly close but outside of Cherrypaw's kits they were all the family they had left.
It was a question that really they had all been asking themselves, she was sure. Their hope that something may be left was hardly there. However, Oceaneyes knew that it was something they would have to find out before ever making another step at continuing their lives. The SunClan cats who remained, would have to see if their home was truly destroyed. The feline sucked in a slow breath before she straightened herself. Her large blue eyes shifted along all the cats gathered, and assumed then that the ones who had managed to make it would be the ones who would accompany them.
It was a few moments as they conversed between one another before she finally answered.
"I do not know what we find, what I do know, is that it will simply determine the next step for our clan." Her answer seemed vague, and she gave little to no hope that there was anything left in the place they had all called home for so long. Oceaneyes gave Lacelily a slight nod before heading forward. "We shall head out now, I do not believe that any others have decided to join us. Keep your ears open and your eyes sharp. Remember that we are making this journey all over again, and the journey here was anything but easy. NightClan will still be a place we must cross through to return to the old territory, and they were anything but welcoming before."
"Terribly sorry to be late, there was a small argument about who was coming." The voice that spoke up was probably a bit ill-timed and a little too loud, an announcement from someone who probably shouldn't have been giving an announcement, but it was evident they had at least waited till Oceaneyes was done with her speech. The bronze-brown tom had managed to slink into the back while the she cat was talking, golden eyes tracing over the group in a lazy, jugdemental way, scanning over each one as if their apppearance held some personal importance to him. Not particularly in a, "You're actually important." sort of way, more in the way that an interviewer scanned over canidates for some big interview in a cold, stoic, pure analytical way.
Hartribbon to didn't bother to explain what he had meant by a small argument on who was coming, there was an air of importance he already held, that he always held, that made it seemed like anyone who should know would know. And so he just fell silence after his small explanation, and despite being incredibly late, in spite this being a very big and important scouting mission that he should have been probably treating with a little more somber and serious regard, he merely stood there, twiddling his paws in that sort of testy, impatient style of someone who had been waiting three hour on everyone else here and just wanted them all to get a move-on already.
