Feralpaw muttered to himself as he padded away from the medicine cats den, a fresh bandage of cobwebs over his eye. It had been one moon since his fight with wicked paw, one moon since his so called friends abandoned him. Of all things, the loss of his eye is what finally tempered his rage, and war lust. The tattered Tom was humbled at last. He padded across the moon lite clearing, having been stuck in camp as punishment for fighting a clan mate, he had grown bored and he was finally free to leave.
he broke into a run as soon as he passed the camp entrance, letting the night air clear his mind, stopping at the edge of a stream. Feralpaw watched his reflection, a pang in his heart at his appearance. His lost eye a painful reminder. “Stupid.” He muttered under his breath.
She didn’t regret a thing, despite the reprimanding she had gotten, despite the subsequent punishment, despite the wary looks she had received since. While Feralpaw had been wilting away with the medic and rotting inside of camp, Wickedpaw had decided that the rules simply didn’t apply to her, sneaking out whenever she could and playing the victim card to anyone who would listen — ‘he’s never been kind, he always bullied me, he attacked first it was only self defense,’ and she was sure she had gotten some suckers believing her.
She slunk out of the estate just after Feralpaw, sticking to the shadows just behind him, pausing as he stopped by the stream, muttering to himself.
“Look who’s out and about!” She called, padding up behind him, a glint in her eyes, “healing up nicely?” She mocked, admiring her work proudly. She mimicked him, checking herself out in the reflection if the stream, pulling a few faces. She laughed. “Sad I lost it — I would have kept it as a souvenir.”
Feralpaw flinched slightly at the sound of her voice. He sunk his claws into the earth to keep himself from losing his temper. He watched her reflection as she made faces, wrinkling his nose. “Some souvenir…” he muttered again. He splashed his paw in the water ruining the reflection.
“Don’t you have some cats eyes to ruin?” He mewed sarcastically. His paws itched for a fight but he didn’t want to lose his other eye, or risk a worse punishment.
Wickedpaw loved his fear. She pressed closer. “Maybe; I could take your other one?” She laughed again, nudged him too roughly to be playful or friendly. “But it’s all in good fun, cheer up a little. You haven’t looked your best lately!” She stood up, padding away as if she were finally walking off, but then appeared behind him. She pushed, watching as just about half of him splashed into the stream. What was strange, though, was the fact that she stepped in after him, walking just far enough to let the water reach her ankles.

"i haven't looked so good because someone decided to aim for my eye." he growled with another annoyed flick of his ear. what did this she-cat want with him, her words felt like ants crawling under his pelt. with a huff Feralpaw felt the water hit his belly, his anger boiled making his ears hot, whipping around he grabbed her legs to pull her into the water with him. If he had to be soaked then so would she, this wouldn't count as a full fight would it? he grunted as he yanked on her front legs backing himself farther into the stream.
I haven't looked so good because someone decided to aim for my eye. She chuckled, sickeningly proud, "maybe I should apologize. But," she shrugged, "I'm not going too. You had it coming." Her voice took on a hardened edge at the last sentence, marked by a glare from her icy eyes.
Wickedpaw had been too busy with her glee to notice that Feralpaw went for her legs, and she payed with a faceful of water. She ripped her paws away, rolling until she could jump back to an unsteady stand, staring him down with wide, excited eyes. She shook water from her face, sniffing at the irritableness it caused when it had gotten into her nose.
"Hungry for defeat, Feralpaw? Because if you want another goddamn fight I'll give you one!" Her claws scraped the mud under the still, dark water.

Satisfied with Wickedpaws reaction, Feralpaw backed himself into the stream. Every tug at his pelt made him uneasy, and the cold water soaked his fur all the way to his skin, but it would be worth it to mess with the she cat. "you would have to go for a swim to do that" he mewed, splashing the water over to her. as he sat in the water he felt a paw shift, he flicked his ear as he steadied himself on the slick rocks under paw. his paws itched at her challenge, so he laid a challenge of his own.
She laughed, sudden and sharp, as if she didn't take any of what he said seriously. "Oh, come on," she took a step closer, "what are you, a masochist? Because if you are I don't want to, like, mess with that." She splashed water back at him, face twisting for a moment. "But seriously, I know you lost half your eyes, but I didn't think you lost half your brain, too." Wickedpaw stepped closer again, accepting his challenge, leaning in. She was shorter than him, short and tufty and having to look up to make eye contact, but she stood just as proudly. One would make a mistake in doubting her due to it.
She gave a slimy smile. "I'll even let you have the first hit."
Feralpaw's pelt flinched slightly at the splash of water, Gritting his teeth at every word Wickedpaw spoke. "Selene forgive me." He hissed lunging at the smaller cat. He itched for a fight, and she was practically asking for one. Feralpaw decided he would worry about confessing his sins later, for now, he splashed through the water lunging to grab Wickedpaw by the scruff.
can i briefly test wickedpaw's elemental power on him *pray hands* he won't die, promise. i havent written it yet KJDNK
Wickedpaw laughed at his words, sharp and haughty, "not very holy of —" she was cut off as Feralpaw lunged at her, teeth clamped around her scruff. She writhed and twisted, whatever joy she felt gone in the moment. The water weighed their movements, though with enough moving around she was able to get him in a good enough place to strike. Her paw pushed against his face, claws catching his lip where it lifted to bite her, arm beginning to ache at the strange angle.
"Get off," the words were strained, "get off, you idiot."
The scratch to his lip made him lessen his grip as he winced. He let out a grunt as he struggled against her efforts fighting to drag her to the ground wending water flying. "Take it back!" His words where muffled by her fur.
GREAT! he's got to land a good hit on her first !!!!
There. She kept her claw hooked as he winced, trying to tear forward, give him a nice scar to match, but she let go as she was wrestled to the ground, stream water uncomfortably close to her nose. Luckily, it was only the shallow water of the bank. She relaxed slightly, everything, including her breath, pausing for a few heartbeats, ceasing her struggling until finally she could gain the momentum of surprise and shoot upwards, scruff finally pulling from his jaws in an act that ripped fur and flesh.
She shook it off. "Make me," Wickedpaw hissed, glee returning. She stood at the ready a few steps away, tail lashing, waiting.
with a deep hiss Feralpaw lunged at her again swinging out a paw to strike her face, feeling his paw contact with her the satisfaction burned thorough him, "I will!" he hissed through gritted teeth.
She couldn't move in time for the strike to miss, and it hit her, painless at first, erupting into a sting after she stumbled backwards. Dangerously close to her eye. She could have laughed at the irony, but the blood bubbling down her cheek distracted her. Wickedpaw didn't let her daze show forever, wiping the stunned look off her face as quick as she could. "How about you take that back! You totally ruined my complexion." Not that she cared much for her looks, of course, but she did have the whole cutesy thing to uphold.
Paws kicking up sand and mud and water, she lunged at him, rolling them both over until she ended up on top, outstretched claws clamping onto his neck. "Your aim was off." She spat, lip curling in a snarl, and a few droplets of blood were shaken onto his face. She raised her other paw, her eyes meeting his, fully intent on taking the other one out as well, but before she could disturb a tuft on his head, the space under Feralpaw's eye began to bubble with blood, just as her own did. She didn't yet register that her own pain had dissipated, or that the only thing left of a wound was the stain of where the marks had once been, but she did know that she hadn't hit him there, she hadn't had the chance. She faltered, grip loosening and face twisting in confusion, staring at him like he had grown another head.
The tabby tom bared his teeth as Wickedpaw bowled him down. Just before he could spit back a retort feralpaw felt the sharp sting on his cheek, right where he had struck her. With a wince he hissed "What did you do!" feeling her grip loosen her scrabbled away.
Wiping around, "What, What did you do?" he hissed again shocked, he had seen her winding up to strike, but her paw had not reached him by the time he felt the sting, he glared at her with his hackles up when he noticed the wound he had given Wickedpaw was gone. Feralpaw returned her shock as silence fell, the only sound was the stream.
So uncharacteristically, she stepped back, tail splashing into the water behind her. "I don't know!" She said honestly, and there was a confused, desperate note to it. "That wasn't me, I didn't even do anything!" She stared at the gash on his cheek, brought a paw up to her own only to find nothing at all, pulling it back sharply as it had hurt. Her brows furrowed.
"Then who was it?" He hissed at her, "The snails?" he retorted sarcastically, Though there was a hint of fear in his voice, he kept a brave face, keeping his tough guy act. He gently dabbed a paw on the wound that formed on his face, The medic was going to give him an earful for sure.
