Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Seasons come and seasons go. Winterclan had survived another rough Winter filled with blizzard, betrayals, death, and hardship. But, as always, it emerged from the other side stronger than ever. The cats of winter were tough and resilient creatures who never ceased to amaze their sovereign. Indigocrown stood before her clan after her lives ceremony. Typically, when cats emerged from their ceremony they carried the suffix -star. This time around change was in the air and she stood proudly before them with her full name as it was before. It had been a shock at first but once the initial shock wore off she realized what an honor it was to carry this name...
"Indigocrown... such an interesting name," the cat had looked deep into her eyes, his green eyes eerily familiar. They were the eyes of her mother and her grandfather before her. She couldn't help but wonder if he was an ancestor of hers but she kept her mouth firmly shut. "Winterclan has suffered so long with such a dark and brutal mentality from those with the name star. I see much strength within you and I smell change on the horizon. You will continue to carry the name Indigocrown and you seven lives with it. Serve your clan well and earn their respect. I will be watching you carefully."
Now, she stood before them on her post wearing a briarthorn crown fitted with indigo gemstones. Each of her paws were fitted with an anklet of claws as well as a necklace which started small and grew larger, a scenic gemstone with a wintery mountain resting in the middle of her chest line. She stood tall and proud while gazing out across her clan before addressing them. From this day forward she would lead Winterclan in a new path, a path filled with less bloodshed, less heartache, and more success.
"Winterclan, I have gathered you here today to announce my official succession of the crown. I will lead with the name Indigocrown and have been given Starclan's blessing of seven lives. Today we will celebrate as winter leaves us and welcome in a new season full of prosperity. I had a patrol scout the lake and it is still frozen solid, there we will feast and skate before we are blessed with a borealis to conclude the festivities. Tonight, castes do not exist. It does not matter who your parents were. Everyone is their own being. Those who are at the bottom may socialize with those who are highly regarded and will not be looked down upon. Please, enjoy your evening and I will see you there." Her voice rang through the clearing and a rare smile highlighted the grizzled she-cats face. She may have lost her leader and her fiance, but now she still had her clan to care for.
In this thread all cats may socialize how they please without regard to social caste! This will be ongoing for the month of March and will be leading up to some very important changes within the clan! Have fun and feel free to spice up the thread with a little drama c; all cats of all ages are welcome
The scene had been set, it was dusk with the last fading lights and the party was in fully swing. There were lanterns with fireflies illumintaing them hanging in the tree and gorgeous decorations all over the place. Several stumps had been carefully placed and each was overflowing with prey of all kinds. All clan members had their pick of food tonight. Here, in this moment, castes and status did not matter. Everyone was dressed up and the ice was still empty, waiting for the first brave cat to step on it and enjoy skating under the stars.
"Wow! I've never been to a party quite like this!" Rimeswirl exclaimed with excitement, her voice thick with a foreign accent as she walked down the clearing. Her white and grey-swirled coat was simply adorned with a small cape of dove feathers and a simple dangling earring on her right ear. It was simple and yet she was stunning all the same.
Indigocrown sat off a little to the side as she watched her clan mingle, eat, play, and enjoy themselves. It filled her with joy and pride simply watching, her belly feeling full from watching them the same way a mother would watch their kits. This was enough, it was good. The future may be filled with hardships but not tonight.
Fierydaemon sat off to the side the ginger and black tortoiseshell cat frowning softly amber eyes gleaming. Tuskblood had gotten her out of the prison and insisted she attend this party, and truthfully she wished her adopted older sister had opted to cast her out.
It was hard to be part of the festivities of the place that was supposed to be her home now. But with the loss of Wintrystar perhaps things were better now?
'I won't have to wait and find out, all I have to do is earn enough trust so I can slip away.' She thought to herself. The winters of WinterClan were harsh but with the season changing now, surely she could escape?
With that thought in the back of her mind, she relaxed a little. Even if she had no intention to stay longer than it would take her to formulate an escape she could at least enjoy the festivities. It had been far too long since she'd been at a party, her step sister Radiantglow did love throwing them after all. So she slipped out from where she lurked. She'd weaved some twigs tipped in places with frost into almost a wreath across her shoulders dotted with a few red berries she'd found, tangling their stems into the ice speckled brown woven twigs to give it a splash of red.
It was simple but with a few pine needles woven in it smelled quite refreshing. It didn't cover up her emaciated appearance from spending time in the prison and it was a very simple addition.
She picked a more comfortable spot to sit casting her gaze about to look for an activity to participate in.
Winterpaw watched Indigocrown in awe. The winter had been harsh for her and her siblings, but the young cats made their way to Winterclan recently. The blue tabby- point didn't adorn herself in any anything to fancy, she had a simple sting with ice hanging from her neck, you could tell she made it herself.
Pushing her pelt into her siblings as a farewell she trotted away joyfully to the ice. With a brave inhale she hopped onto the slick surface, wobbling for a second before pushing herself along. Winterpaw mewled joyfully skidding across the ice, she didn't mind if anyone noticed, in fact she hoped she could encourage someone to join her. "you get up here!!!" she giggled to a random cat in the crowed, holding her paw out for anyone to grab onto.
A calico she-cat was filled with energy herself, her gaze flitting between the many cats surrounding her. She hadn't much to adorn herself with, a necklace made with pinecones and various berries. The most eye-catching thing she had attained was a small bracelet adorned with a deep red gem. It wasn't much, but it made her feel tall.
Her gaze eventually landed on Winterpaw, eyeing her outstretched paw with a grin. In seconds she had bounded over and reached her own paw out. "Don't mind if I do," She mewed with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Sinkingsaturn was never a social cat, but she was still there, standing awkwardly among her clanmates. She hadn't known Indigocrown for long, but they had patrolled together a few times, and she could still remember following a bear's trails once, eyeing the tracks as they sought a way to chase it off the territory. She knew the other cat from a distance, but she had heard the news.
Padding up to the other cat, she gave her a greeting nod before gesturing to the side. "May I?" her voice was soft, as she sat a short distance away, not waiting for the other cat to speak. Sinkingsaturn had never been a cat with much patience for waiting; she always acted as per her class, after all. She glanced slightly to the other cat. "I'm sorry for your loss," she spoke, as if gauging the other cat's feelings, "but congratulations, you'll be a great Sovereign." Sinkingsaturn had never been one to wear her emotions on her sleeve, but there was still a type of warmth even if she mostly kept it to herself.

Frostbite dipped his head low to Indigocrown as he passed by. Around his neck he wore turquoise nuggets interspersed with several hawk talons between the gem stones. "May WinterClan thrive under your rule," he meowed respectfully. He sincerely hoped this would be true. He stopped several paces away and looked around. The ice looked very tempting for skating but he held back. Maybe some cat would want to skate with him. He really didn't want to go out alone. Perhaps his sister was around.

Tuskblood's thick, usually unruly fur was groomed out like a lion's mane and speckled white from the powdery snow that descended softly from the sky. Wearing a lovely lay of evergreen and juniper berries, she honestly looked regal and less monstrous, except for the two teeth sticking out from her underbite. A warm gleam entered her gaze as she watched Fierydaemon move about the group of cats. It had been a long time since she lived around family. She awkwardly did not know how to interact but instead offered her sister a half smile that looked more like a grimace. She sat somewhat next to Indigocrown but far enough back to not loom over her. Her chest swelled in pride at their new crowned, hoping that this day would bring peace and festivity to the clan once more.
Merrykit and Ravenkit bounded around the older cat's paws, amazed at all the sights and smells. Other than Waywardpass, they didn't get to see many adult cats. Merrykit's eyes lit up when she saw the ice. "Oh, I wanna play!!" She squeaked to her brother. Ravenkit looked hesitantly at the ice, wondering if they were allowed to play without anyone watching.
With grin Winterpaw pulled the calico she-cat with her across the ice she laughed as she sprayed ice, it had been so long since she had done this. "Welcome to the fun!" she squeaked out excitedly. It felt nice to fly along the ice, and it was even more fun with someone joining her.
The last time was probably with her father, she would egg him on challenging him to races across a small stream that was frozen near their old den.
A grin spread across her face as they glided across the ice. The feeling of freedom blew through her fur in the form of wind. Her gaze passed to the cats all around, mingling with warm smiles and kind words. It felt odd to her. She was used to cold looks and cruel, judging eyes boring into her.
Wickedpaw allowed herself to be brought back to Winterpaw and she gave her a wide grin. "This is great. I'm Wickedpaw, by the way."

"Of course," she smiled at Sinkingsaturn. At first, the two she-cats had been pretty wary of each other other but the more that the two cats had talked and spent together the more they grew on each other. Now, she was even grateful to have the warrior by her side. "Thank you. I hope to lead Winterclan into a thriving era. Tonight looks like it'll be fun too." achromatic
She was surprised when Frosbite prroached them but she dipped her head to him gratefully "Thank you. I cannot do it without all of your support." He was a good warrior even though she didn't know him particularly well. "Make sure to enjoy yourself tonight!" Whitemuzzle
Griffonwing paused as he considered approaching his sister. He was proud of her for becoming the new sovereign, but knew she didn't care for him that much. He hesitated just long enough to see the new heir just behind her. She was big - probably as big as him - with a particularly unique appearance. It was interesting to him and he was very curious about her. Now was his time to go up and introduce himself. He took a deep breath before walking up to her, his tail held hi. "Hi, congratulations on becoming heir," he grinned and fortunately sounded less nervous than he actually was. simplylight

Smiling back at wickedpaw, "It's it's it! She exclaimed over the sounds of cats mingling. "My name's winterpaw! She stumbled a bit but managed to keep her balance and let out another laugh. "I haven't had this much fun in a while!"

Tuskblood had just happened to look over right when Griffonwing hesitated. Her whiskers twitched in curiosity as she watched him for a second and then surprise as he began to approach. She wasn't sure what happened between him and Indigocrown or if anything happened at all. The two never seemed to talk. It looked like she was about to learn a bit more about him, though. She gave a nod, and added grunt, of thanks at his congratulations. "Thank you. I can only hope to be a good heir to her and the clan." Her head tilted towards the new crowned with her words. "You two are siblings, right? I'm still learning about the family trees."

He felt a little embarrassed when she turned to look at him but he shook off the embarrassment and let out a sudden laugh. It was no surprise that she was unsure they were siblings, he doubted his sister ever talked about him. "We are. Littermates even. I'm surprised you even know about that, honestly, we certainly don't act like siblings," He looked over at his sister with an amused flick of his ear.
"Do you have any siblings?" Griffonwing asked curiously. She was still very new to the clan and it was very curious that his sister had suddenly chosen an outsider - not only to join the clan but to assist in leading it. Some regarded her with disgust or contempt, but Griffonwing was more curious and intrigued than anything else. simplylight
She was surprised when Frosbite aproached them but she dipped her head to him gratefully "Thank you. I cannot do it without all of your support." He was a good warrior even though she didn't know him particularly well. "Make sure to enjoy yourself tonight!" Whitemuzzle
"I will, thank you," Frostbite replied. It felt strange speaking to Indigocrown since he didn't know her all that well but he knew that he should make an effort now that she's their new leader. Much of his life he had kept mostly to his few friends and his sister. Now that he was getting older he realized isolating himself like that was a mistake. The more cats he knew in his clan the better. "And you do the same." He dipped his head to his leader and made his way down to the ice.

Sinkingsaturn gave Indigocrown a dip of her head, a soft smile that still seemed rather reserved. "Of course," she replied with a nod, hesitating for another brief moment before replying. "If you ever need me, I'll be around." There were few cats she got along with around these parts, and fewer who she'd trust to have her back, but Indigocrown had proven herself worthy of it once, and Sinkingsaturn would return it with a certain sense of loyalty at least.

Fallingpaw watched the festivities from afar, his icy eyes flittering over each and every cat. It was refreshing to say the least, that everyone was finally excluded from a silly caste system. He wasnt there for its implementation. When he had watched it develop from afar it seemed like it would never last, yet it had kept its unruly head up for too long, and he was glad to see it had finally died. Odd that their leader wouldnt follow suit with taking a new suffix, but with their beliefs being so varied, he wasnt all that surprised by it. He wondered what his own would be, but it didnt really matter. He had lost himself in thought again, his eyes closed as he wrapped his thick tail around his paws, his pelt fluffing up as a cold breeze blew through him.
