Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
○ Our resident rat, achromatic , has decided to step up to Medicine Cat with Sunveins! Audrey is a brilliant source of inspiration and creativity everywhere she goes and we're so lucky to have her and her characters in SummerClan! <3 • She has also decided to take on Cypresspaw, rped by goldcrest , as the new Medicine Cat Apprentice! ○ SummerClan ranks are changing! Senior Warriors are being rebranded as Instructors, while the Coast Guard and Garden Keepers will be split into two divisions Treasure Hunters & Adventurers and Trappers & Denwatchers respectively. • Existing RP positions will remain as team leaders of their specialties (i.e. Bubblechaser and Ravenmask will be the lead instructors; Weevilspike will be the Treasure Hunters captain; and Dawnflicker and Hippostep will be joint captains of the Adventurers). This means there will be two upcoming positions for the Garden Keeper equivalents. The new ranks will be explained below and a more comprehensive guide will follow soon ♥
Instructors- The senior warrior equivalent in SummerClan, these cats are the knowledge of the clan. Having served the clan their entire lives, but not old enough yet to retire, they are promoted to Instructors and become the clan's mentors, in charge of training the apprentice teams, deciding which specialties the apprentices are best fit for, and keeping a look out for cats that are struggling to adjust to their roles.
Treasure Hunters - These cats are sharp-eyed and tenacious, able to spot even small treasures from several fox-lengths away or beneath the ocean blue. They tend to be hardier than the average SummerClan cat due to the strain their job duties put on their bodies, such as diving and digging for treasure, and most of their time is spent scouring the land and sea for useful items- or completely useless but alluring, sparkling artifacts.
Adventurers - Considered the most loyal cats in the clan, the Adventurers travel far beyond SummerClan's borders, across unclaimed lands and endless seas, face the temptation of the open world at every turn, and yet still yearn to be home amongst their family and friends. In short, their jobs entail sailing on Two-leg ships to find new territory and members to bring home, and because of their worldly experience, they are likely to be chosen for ambassadorial missions to other clans.
Trappers - After the invasion by NightClan, the unique gifts of the Garden Keepers were put to the test. These cats are the most knowledgeable about the flora and fauna within the clan's territory and have learned to manipulate that knowledge in ways that protect the clan from future attacks, such as setting traps disguised as just another of SummerClan's famous flower fields. They also reinforce the barriers near the borders and maintain the many gardens dappling the territory because, at the end of the day, they still value the beauty of their land.
Denwatchers - At its core, SummerClan values family relationships above all. They have been a peaceful sort for longer than the eldest elders and many cats still hold strong to those values. Preferring to tend to the camp and its occupants first and foremost, the Denwatchers maintain the strength of the dens, the Sun Garden, and help to raise the clan's youth into vital members of its community. In the event of an attack, these cats are the final defense; therefore, some of the strongest cats choose to be Denwatchers.
(These are by no means permanent roles. If you feel your character isn't vibing with it, then go ahead and request for them to change at any time!)
○ Apprentices will be reworked a little as well. Rather than specifying their training upon promotion, they will be trained for every specialty. Upon reaching their twelfth moon and being eligible for promotion, they will then choose which specialty to pursue! • Apprentices will also be training in teams of 3 under one mentor from now on. • A training thread won't be required this AC for apprentices wishing to be promoted, but going forward it will be mandatory. • Be on the lookout for some apprentice adoptables soon! <3
