Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Crimsonrose had been lurking near the forest clans following her escape from WinterClan. She hadn't been able to escape the prison unharmed, but she'd been able to escape well enough and the large ginger she cat wasn't unfamiliar with scars and lasting injuries after all.
Her mind had been focused on eventually seizing vengeance. The whispers of an old ancient guardian, a voice she hadn't heard in so long returning to her during her stay in WinterClan, driving her forwards. Calling for the blood of her enemies.
But that wasn't anything new, Crimsonrose wanted battle regardless.
And then she went and missed out on the big one.
It was irksome, to have to stand on the sidelines, safely on one side of the canyon being formed as portions of DayClan, SunClan, WinterClan, the regime and others were lost into the yawning gap or trapped on either side of the chasm.
Crimsonrose's lip had curled when she'd seen what looked like the shape of Wintrystar falling to her doom, but she couldn't be sure. Her claws had itched, wanting so badly to spill the vile she cat's blood. Only to be denied thanks to the fall likely taking all of the WinterClan's leaders lives. (and if not the fall then all the earth that was still tumbling down into the chasm.
The ginger she cat then turned away from the chasm, watching as cats ran about like panicked chickens with their heads cut off. Panicking with the lack of leadership. DayClan had scattered while SunClan scrambled to try and figure themselves out.
Well... perhaps there was an opportunity.
///---///
Crimsonrose took her time making her way to SunClan, waiting until they were gathered and their panic had abated enough before stepping into their midst. Lifting her tail in greeting and a sign of peace.
"I'm here to help. I was... urged to come here." She told Nightfury, recognizing the soothsayer as the only 'high ranking' cat left with both the former High Priestess and current High Priest gone. "Let's get everyone back to your camp."
There was some muttering against the dark ginger she cat, but Crimsonrose had standing as part of DayClan so at the least she was recognized as an ally.
Plus she had been urged to come to this place by a higher power. They just didn't know it wasn't their beloved Sun God but an itch to spill blood.
It had been so long since she'd gotten a good fight and Crimsonrose could feel that craving deep, deep within her very soul.
Perhaps with this she could bring SunClan back together and then seek out some foes she could sink her teeth into. The thought made her straighten, eyes gleaming at the idea. SunClan was known for being mighty and vicious warriors and the potential was strong that she could finally have the battles she was itching for.
Nightfury had been thoroughly seething in these past few days. Of course, all of the leadership had to be taken by the earthquake, leaving him in charge of all of these cats. All of them, looking to him. It was an absolute nightmare. But, he recognized his duty to them, an unfortunate, hellish duty. Until the Sun God gave him a sign, it was his job to lead the Clan. So, he had to rise to his paws to meet this outsider. If SunClan was on its game, she would have been torn to shreds. But tiredness hung thick in the air. "We'll do that in our own time, don't give my cat's orders." He waved his tail and turned his back. "Go back to where you came from."
Crimsonrose cast an unimpressed glance around. "The fact that you're all still barely getting by at this time means you need all the help you can get. You have cats scattered and scared, the best thing for them is to have direction. Movement." She said.
"I'm not here to give orders." Crimsonrose said flicking her tail. "I know what SunClan is capable of, and I don't want to see it flounder now because it's lost most of its population. Consider me here to help, sent by a, higher power if you will."
She sized up Nightfury, "You're a survivor." She noted. "But surviving on your own is a lot different than helping a clan that suffered a heavy loss rise back up. I have experience not just surviving but in teaching others to be stronger, and I will do so here if you'll let me."
Her posture was calm, steady. Not threatening. If Nightfury wanted her gone he was going to have to throw her out, and she could feel her pulse quicken at the thought. Claws itching for battle.
But she pushed it down. Perhaps there would be a time when she could face Nightfury, but if she faced him as some trespasser it would hamper her chances to get in.
And the potential for more exciting battles lay ahead if she could persuade SunClan to let her be leader.
It was unfortunate that a lot of the cats she was familiar with in SunClan were gone now. At the very least they could've vouched for the strength she'd held at Leatherstar's side.
He shook his head. "What everyone needs is time to grieve. All most everyone here lost family, at the very least cats they loved. You're an outsider, you don't understand what our Clan is going through." He turned around so he could face her. The two were perhaps not too unlike. They both had a craving for fighting. But Nightfury learned how to quell his dark passenger. He was in the driver's seat. "Don't act like a savior. You're just an opportunist." He snorted. "You have no care for the cats here. You have no reason to want to command other than to command." He narrowed his eyes. "Bloodystar wanted command so he could command, and we all know what he was like."
Crimsonrose hummed. "If I was truly an opportunist would I truly have come here alone, with just myself? An opportunist would raise an army and try to take advantage to take over. An opportunist might fake a sign and claim they come with tidings from your god. The Sun God hasn't lit my path before, nor have I stood as an enemy to the children of the sun."
"I am here for one simple reason, you have lost a lot of your clan. I have lost a lot of mine. You have lost a great deal of your leadership, the cats you go to for wisdom, for teaching. My student is long dead buried under an avalanche, perishing nine times, all in the name of saving his daughter, one of your own. Once bonded to your leader herself many many seasons ago."
Her eyes softened a little but her posture was still resolute. Firm in her resolve. She would not be convinced to leave so easily. "I didn't come here to command, I came here to guide. Guidance can only be offered, and can only be accepted willingly."
"IF you do not wish for my guidance than accept my strength." Crimsonrose said shifting back. "I am able bodied, I am well trained to hunt and fight, and I bear you and your clanmates no ill will."
He had little time for her words. While she had no army, she had no time to rally one. She saw one sitting behind him. She saw vulnerable cats that she could squeeze the life out of. He couldn't let that happen. He still held out hope that his Priestess would find some way to return. He turned away from her. "You will only offer strength, initiate. Until you have proven yourself to the Sun God and us, you will not be a full member of this Clan. You will learn the ways of the Clan from the Janus along with the proper way to hunt and fight. Failure to do these may result in your death down the line in our initiation. Do you acknowledge this?"
Crimsonrose hummed. "Initiate hmm. Very well if that's what it takes to initiate some action then so be it." She said, amber eyes gleaming. "Let us forge ahead together."
Then she let out a little huff, amusement glittering in her eyes as if she remembered a funny joke. "Is there something I need to do to seal the deal. Blood oath or something? After all if we're talking life and death I imagine there's something to seal the tie of me to SunClan."
'And SunClan to me.' Crimsonrose added internally.
For a clan was it's members. And she knew taking this step to become one of them, she'd have them all for one cause. One mission.
