Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
As Spiralpaw was now his only apprentice, it was much easier for Hystericstar to focus on training her. She was a weird little ball of energy, but for once Hystericstar didn't find it annoying. She actually asked questions, and was learning at a much faster rate than Amberbird ever had when he had tried to teach him the same lessons. It wasn't that much longer before the leader felt that the apprentice was finally able to earn her full name. He purposefully waited for a day when the cold outside wasn't as harsh. He could have just worn the sweater that Chestnutheart had gone out of her way to acquire for him, but Hystericstar still refused to wear that thing ever again. It wasn't that it was itchy or anything, no, he just wouldn't be caught dead wearing the hideous thing.
Such a day finally came, and he made his way into the medicine cat den, his eerie golden gaze easily picking out the fluffy she-cat's form. "Spiralpaw, we're heading out of camp today."

Spiralpaw had been a bit down ever since Weaselpaw left. She was just beginning to think the two of them could be friends and share sweets together. She let out a sigh at the depressing thoughts and pushed around the berries that were at her paws. To make it worse, now she had to do real work. The familiar nervous butterflies flew around her belly at the idea. What if she wasn't good enough? She was easily distracted sometimes... What if they don't like her?
Her thoughts were interrupted by the pawsteps of Hystericstar approaching the den. Quickly, she stuffed the berries back in their spot and sat straight up in the middle of the den with a cheerful look on her face. "Going out of camp? Just you and me?" She meowed, completely shocked that those words even escaped his mouth. He wasn't exactly the social type and she was more than a social butterfly.
The sheer amount of energy that the apprentice had always took Hystericstar by surprised. He was rather young himself - after all, he had been a young kit when he had first been picked up and taught about herbs - but he couldn't remember himself ever having that much energy. There was no doubt about it, Spiralpaw was just an energetic oddball. Though, it wouldn't take anyone much thinking to come to that conclusion.
This time, it seemed her confusion had calmed her slightly, as Hystericstar actually had time to step into the den fully. At least, that's what he assumed was the cause. "It's not a vacation," he sighed. "There's something that we need to take care of, and I think now is as good of a time as any. You ready to go now?"

"Aww anything can be a vacation if you have the right attitude, Hystericstar." Spiralpaw purred happily and rose to her paws to follow him. At least this outing would help her break through the funk she had been in the past few days. A thought occurred to her suddenly and she almost halted in her tracks. Was this her very first business trip? Oh my goodness, she never thought she would be doing the adult medicine cat things so soon. It was a little exciting, if she was honest. "I'm ready, sir!" She meowed, her voice almost coming out in a squeak. "What is it that we have to do today?"
Spiralpaw may have only almost stopped, but after her question, Hystericstar came to a full pause for a few moments while he debated what to tell her. Would she had ever heard the stories? Even if she had, she would definitely still be full of questions. Well, that was going to be the case no matter what he said, so perhaps he should have a small bit of fun instead? Would Spiralpaw still be willing to follow him if he said something completely ridiculous?
"We're going to find a rock," he said, momentarily meeting her gaze before he turned to continue walking.
