Wishkit's eyes darted from cat to cat, watching the comings and goings of the nursery like he expected someone to turn around and maul him. The road was never this friendly, it was good to stay alert. At least, that's what he told himself as when he was sure everyone's backs were turned to him, he'd dive to the bed next to theirs and take another sprig of moss. He had far too much, unable to even try and hide it under his tiny orange body. It was compulsive, like he was a spectator watching his body act on its own. Or was he instead sitting comfortably behind his own eyes as he lied to himself? Wishkit wasn't sure, still too young to understand his tendencies. All he knew was that he was cold, even in the middle of the day, and that the bare earth reminded him too much of his beginnings for him to stand it.
It wasn't that odd for Cosmickit to not leave her bed for an entire day. Although she did prefer the warmth of the sun on her pelt, some days she just got comfortable in the nest and decide to stay there, losing complete track of time. This was one of those days. The grey she-cat was nearly covered in the moss and ferns of her bedding, with just her head poking out visibly clean. It was hard to tell from a distance if she was awake or not, as the slow rise and falling of her chest could have gone either way. Right now, however, her soft green eyes were open, watching Wishkit with curiosity. "What are you using that for?" she finally asked, her voice easy to miss.

(lmao guess who's finally back)
Wishkit stamped the new material down, the nest more cushy than ever. At least on his side, for even his siblings sides weren't banned from his pickings. The ground was completely covered, not even a hint of harshness left. Taken from each nest, it was hard to notice the difference until you saw how high Wishkit was above the ground than everyone else. He settled down, trying to be satisfied. But something kept him on high alert, most likely the energy he kept refusing to burn. But the vigilance let him notice Cosmickit's quiet voice. Not that he could see the other kit, already burying himself in the bed as well. "T-To sleep in. Obviously." He said to no one in particular, trying to sound like he was joking but speaking so quickly it became more defensive.
For a few moments, Cosmickit was silent. Her gaze was focused on the other kit's nest, a quiet type of thought reflected in them. Then, without moving her head, her eyes slipped to the nests directly next to Wishkit. It seemed to take the small kit a little bit to put the pieces together, but when she finally turned her attention to Wishkit again, she didn't voice any accusations. Instead, she titled her head ever so slightly. "Is that even comfortable?" she asked. Sometimes it was hard for Cosmickit to find the perfect balance of moss, so she knew that too much cushioning could ruin an otherwise comfortable nest, but was it the same for Wishkit?
Stainedkit stirred in her own nest, the rustling and soft mewing of the other kits rousing her from sleep. The she-kit gave an exaggerated groan as she squinted her eyes and peered over the edge of her nest. She spotted Wishkit's throne among the moss and snorted instantly. In a moment's notice she rolled onto her paws and gave her pelt a shake, freeing herself of the clinging moss. "Woaaaah, I've never seen a nest like that! Scooch over!" The small she-kit began her steps towards Wishkit, apparently unaware of the possibility that maybe Wishkit explicitly didn't want others touching them, let alone wallowing in their hard work.
