Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Apprentice To Warriors "It is with great reverence that I, High Priestess, stand beneath our Great Protector today and bask in his eternal rays. With his permission and guidance, it is now that I grant our youth their SunClan name and welcome them fully into the ranks of the Sun God’s chosen ones. The cats I call forth have been fully trained in our ways, and passed their final training assessment"
Each of the following cats are called forward to receive their new name in turn. They form a line before the rest of the clan while the Soothsayers steps forward to add yellow touches to the paint on their faces while the High Priestess explains the reasoning for their new name.
"Newly named SunClan warriors, it is with great pleasure that we now welcome you as full members of SunClan. May you continue to serve the Sun God faithfully for many moons to come"
Kits-->Apprentices "It is with great reverence that I, High Priest(ess), stand beneath our Great Protector today to help the next generation on SunClan begin their journey to becoming full members of SunClan. As SunClan apprentices you must study meticulously, work hard, and make wise decisions for your future. With his permission, it is now that I give our youth their new names"
Each kit is called forward and given their new apprentice name(ie a paw suffix) Once the new names are given, the soothsayers adds a little bit of orange paint onto their fur on their faces to visually show their new ranking within the clan
"Your first step towards becoming a SunClan warrior will be deciding whom will serve as your mentor. Take your time, and consider the options before you carefully. You may pick whomever you like to become your mentor, other than the Janus, Soothsayer, promises and Priest(ess). Each of the Sun God’s chosen ones have different strengths and knowledge to impart upon you on your journey. You must remain with this mentor until the next gathering of the Chosen, at which time you will be allowed to select a new mentor to meet your needs. All SunClan apprentices, step forward and make your selections.
All apprentices, new and old, step forward to choose their mentor until the next Gathering of The Chosen. Typically first time apprentices give their choice of mentor with a sunflower. Apprentices that already had a mentor are allowed to change at this time if they believe another cat will help them to achieve their goals..
Note to all apprentices: To pass the next ac your apprentice MUST have choose a mentor and have at least 2 replies on a training thread. List of all current apprentices: Succubuspaw(Honeystorm ) Cherrypaw(biyuu ☆彡 ) Silverpaw(ѕнαdow✩ ) - Darksonata(racer) Wisteriapaw(uniqcrim ) - Festeringfruit(cleaver) Lifepaw(@dot ) Lightpaw(racer ) - Mottledheart(ashestoashes) Destinypaw(@ian ) - Balancedscale(Honeystorm) Fatepaw(stardance ) - Valleyrose(Jadie) Joypaw(racer ) - Perfectstorm(Jadie) Pheonixpaw(Jetclaw ) - Darksonata(Jetclaw) Griffinpaw(@ian ) - Dazzledragon Sparklepaw(biyuu ☆彡 ) Vibrantpaw(ashestoashes ) - Deliciateephmeral(uni) Jetpaw(Jadie ) - Tenebrousrequim(Jetclaw) Blackberrypaw(@dot ) Pecanpaw(Cleaver ) - Snakebounce(Nova) Guppypaw(Cleaver ) - Yarepawn(Jadie) Burstingpaw(ashestoashes) - Goldengrace(Jetclaw) Lunarpaw(uniqcrim) - Magnoliablush(racer) Wickedpaw(ashestoashes)- Applecrumble(racer)
Guppypaw did not hesitate; he zig-zagged across the clearing to Yarepawn and looked up at her. "You're still my mentor, right?" he chirped. She had never been his official clan mentor, but he had followed her into the clan; as far as he was concerned, she was his one and only teacher. Jadie
Pecanpaw frowned. He was not really sure who he should ask... maybe he should wait and see what the other cats chose first. Maybe Blackberrypaw had a good idea.
Fatepaw had held off on picking a mentor for awhile now. He had done his best to bounce between trainings with his friends, but with his assessment on the horizon he needed consistency. With his own developments, he knew of one cat who could fit his needs, even if she had a litter of kits. It didn't take the light tabby long to find Valleyrose. He dipped his head, and then asked the question. "Will you be my mentor?"
Jetpaw didn't want to be trained by a SunClan cat and wanted to resist picking out a mentor. But he also know the reality of his situation was that, the longer he waited to pick a mentor, the more moons he would be cursed to spend here. Training wasn't a set length of time here like it was in other Clans. It was based solely on the skill level of the apprentic and, if he worked hard enough, he could be promoted early.
So he'd best pick a skilled mentor if he wanted to get back to SwiftClan as soon as possible.
"Tenebrousrequim," Jetpaw said, approaching the admittedly intimidating tom. He knew that this guy was pretty strong from SunClan's rumor mill and had fought against the SunClan that had ruined his mother's life, "I'll take you as my mentor, if you'll have me..."
But would Tenebrousrequim be willing to train Bloodycrow's son? Jetclaw
~*~
"Sure thing, Guppypaw!" Yarepawn purred, patting her new apprentice on the top of the head like a twoleg would a very cute puppy, "I already have a mission in mind for you, actually. We'll talk later though." Cleaver
~*~
Valleyrose's adorable kits were tumbling around each other with fervor having finally found their legs. She was letting them mostly play unfettered but remained close, her watchful eyes never straying from them for long. That is, until Fatepaw appeared with his surprisingly request.
"I-- I, well," Valleyrose's instinct was to deny the apprentice. She had to focus on her young ones and didn't want to miss a minute, not with them growing up so fast. But she also wasn't quick to forget her duty to SunClan. The code was very clear - she couldn't deny any apprentice that wanted her, "I'm honored, Fatepaw. I just hope you like kits because you'll be spending a lot of time with them!"
As if on cue, little Amitykit rolled across the ground after a powerful blow from one of her siblings and landed on her back right in front of Fatepaw. Her yellow-green eyes looked much too big for her head and her stomach was positively fluffy and adorable.
"Tocuh my tummy, I dare you," She whispered to the tom in absolute seriousness.
Valleyrose chuckled and watched Fatepaw curiously, wondering what he'd do next. stardance
The family tree extending from Littlestar was vast. And often times the only thing that told Tenebrousrequiem if they were part of siad tree was if they were at reunions. One of which he and Ferventprayer had attended not long ago.
But when the young tom, bearing the name of his mother Jetfire, and his great aunt Jetstar, Tenebrousrequiem considered the young tom.
Tenebrousrequiem would forever hate Bloodycrow for the scars he'd left Ferventprayer with. Wish he could've realized the error of his ways.
But he also knew, that much like how Ferventprayer couldn't control Bloodycrow raising her, nor could he control Frozenfire's teachings that drove him to be a cold cat at a young age (and only hardship in SunClan and finding safety and security and love with Ferventprayer thawed that ice in his heart.
He knew that it was best not to judge Jetpaw for his father.
Besides, better the young tom be encouraged not to grow up like he had, and to instead learn to be strong enough that you could find confidence in your own strength rather than arrogance in lording over others. Like Tenebrousrequim had learned far later than he'd have liked.
"Very well, I accept you as my apprentice. I will be busy tending to Ferventprayer but, I can ensure you become a strong warrior." Perhaps even have the apprentice assist with interacting his and Ferventprayer's kits. Kits liked having apprentices to interact with.
Seeing those weaker than himself might make Jetpaw come to the same realization Tenebrousrequim had of protecting those weaker and more innocent than yourself. Jadie
A meek smile spread across his face at her answer. Maybe he could finally settle in, and get ready for whatever his apprentice test would be in the next few moons. He wanted to go up and touch noses with the she-cat, but the little fluffball underneath his paws distracted him. "Uhh..." He looked between Valleyrose and Amitykit for a moment before outstretching his paw bit by bit towards the kit's stomach. Jadie
"..." Jetpaw wasn't sure how to react to Tenebrousrequim now. Was there a custom or something he should be following?! SunClan was full of those. Another thing about this Clan that he hated... but... he couldn't forget that there were good things here, too. After a lengthly pause, he looked up at Tenebrousrequim with fiery amber-brown eyes, a familiar intensity in them, "Thank you." Jetclaw
~*~
As soon as Fatepaw's paw made contact with Amitykit's soft belly fur, she let out a playful screech and wrapped herself around his leg like an anchor, chewing and biting and scratching at him as all kits do. Her 'attack' was little more than play but did smart some, after all she was fully on bunny kicking his forearm.
"Looks like you fell for her trap," Valleyrose chuckled, watching to see what her new apprentice would do next, "Amitykit, dear, don't be so rough when you play."
Amitykit answered with growling and continued her bunny kicking. stardance
Phoenixpaw went over to Darksonata and set her flower down in front of them. "I want you to be my mentor... please?" She asked straightening up. racer
///---///
Tenebrousrequiem considered Jetpaw, trying to gauge the response, the look in the young tom's eyes. Before brushing it off. Instead simply nodding. "We'll start training soon, once this whole affair has wrapped up and I've checked in with Ferventprayer."

She was nervous, this was her first mentor choosing and Lunarpaw had been mulling over who she should choose for days already. If she picked a terrible mentor she could always pick again, right? With her head held high and a gleam in her eyes the small she-cat set her flower in front of Magnoliablush hopefully, looking up at the warrior expectantly. racer
This again? Wisteriapaw sight and picked the warrior with the coolest name he'd heard so far. "Festeringfruut is a pretty cool name," He said flatly, setting his flower in front of the cat. Cleaver
Guppypaw beamed and wiggled excitedly beneath his mentor's paw. "All right!"
Festeringfruit glanced down at the apprentice, uninterested. "It's an insult. Get lost, harebrain."
All of the good mentors were getting claimed! Worry singed through Pecanpaw's pelt. He needed to pick someone. He scanned the crowd then hurried over to Snakebounce and laid his flower at his paws. "Will you please mentor me?" Nova
He kind of expected the kitten to swat or something at his leg, but he never expected a full on bunny kick. His eyes widened as the kitten's little claws dug into his fur and, sometimes, pierced the skin. He wanted to flick his leg to the side and send the kit away, among other things, but the mom to his side really deterred him from that. Instead he flopped to his side and rolled around. "I yield, I yield!" Jadie
Joypaw giggled, running over to her mentor Perfectstorm "I know you are still busy with your kits, but I would like for you to continue being my mentor if you would have me" The little calico gave him a big smile, and fell into a play bow "You still have a lot left to teach me!" Jadie ------------------------------------- Lightpaw ran over to Mottledheart "Would you be my mentor" ashestoashes ------------------------------------- Apprentices Still Needing Mentors Succubuspaw(Honeystorm ) Cherrypaw(biyuu ☆彡 ) Sparklepaw(biyuu ☆彡 ) Lifepaw(@dot ) Blackberrypaw(Dot ) Destinypaw(@ian ) Griffinpaw(ian ) Vibrantpaw(ashestoashes ) Burstingpaw(uniqcrim )
Littlestar waited until the apprentices had a chance to pick their mentors before beginning. "As you all know Paintedcanyon, has decide to retire from soothsayer and become a warrior. The ancients have approved of his choice. Nightfury will be taking over our new Soothsayer. As his first official duty as Soothsayer, he will begin to ritual to pick our new Janus and Soothsayer Promised" She took a step backwards, allowing Nightfury to take her place at the edge of the cliff overlooking the sandy beach
He certainly was not ready for this. He had to speak. In front of cats. He could of sworn this was not in the job description. Well, the Sun God never gave him one. His face was scrunched with a mix of anger and frustration as he walked his way up. Today was the first time he had worn paint in moons, and it showed. The eye on his forehead looked more like an oval with lines sticking out, and all the other decorative pieces were more or less non-existent. He just had a poorly drawn oval with lines on his forehead.
As he neared the perch above, he realized he had not gone over his lines with Littlestar beforehand. Sure, he had done some work with Paintedcanyon, but that was a long time ago. "Err..." He stood there long enough to eat a small mouse before finding the words. At least first ones. "Cats of SunClan, the day has come for our Sun G--- errr, Great Protector to choose his new servants. He will provide what we currently lack." Crap, he messed that up. Good thing Littlestar would be the only one to really know. "As you all know, we are in need for both a Soothsayer Promised. Some of our sharpest minds have -and strongest paws, can't forget about them- been chosen to serve the Sun, and have nominated those who they believe to be worthy in their own right for future leadership. Let us not forget, however, that all in the clan are subject to consideration, for it is our Great Protector, our mighty ruler who decides for us all. Janus, please step forward from the crowd with your nominee, so that your hearts and commitment may be judged." He stepped back and then he swore under his breath. He forgot the Janus. "And, we need a Janus. Also raise your nominations for them."

(I can safely say I do not have a Lunarpaw my dear racer by Chance did you mean Wickedpaw?)
Mottledheart looked down at the young cat and gave him a light nose boop. "I am more than happy to be your mentor."
Vibrantpaw looked around at all the cats around her trying to figure out whom she wanted to have as a mentor. There were so many choice, but she knew she didn't want to have a tom as her teacher. After all they were so just...dumb. Literally. So the young apprentice went up to the first she cat that she saw walking patiently up to her. Deliciateephmeral will you be my mentor? uniqcrim
The tom boy Wickedpaw knew who she wanted as her mentor. After all she was the tough brawling tom boy who would make them as strong as she wish to be. So it came as no surprise she walked up to none other than Applecrumble. "I like the way you train and fight, can I learn some action from you?" racer (I checked the page to be sure and I don't believe she was promoted yet.)
Now was his time to shine! The ever so chaotic and mischievous Burstingpaw decided that whomever he ran into would be his mentor. After all he was known to just run into cats in general. So head long he charged before ramming into his next mentor who would surely take on this embodiment of reckless chaos. Looking up he saw Goldengrace's face. "Hey be my mentor! Er well you know, please?" Jetclaw
Lilypool raised her paw to volunteer, after all the Janus needed to get some training experience out there right?

Cherrypaw blinked. "I don't really think I'm in a state where I can train," she complained, gesturing to her stomach which was very large because she was like ten months pregnant and that was maybe four and a half times as long as a normal feline pregnancy.
Sparklepaw was still sad about failing his apprentice assessment, even if it had been his own fault. He saw Lilypool raise a paw and narrowed his eyes. "You Janus are the ENEMY," he said, and refused to elaborate further.
(I just noticed but Burstingpaw is not mine, but lunarpaw is cx)
"All the more fun, come on give me a shot so this can be over already," Wisteriapaw pushed. Really he just couldn't seem to see anyone else who hadn't already been chosen and he wanted this to be done with. Cleaver
She blinked, surprised to be approached on her own promotion ceremony. There was no reason to decline this literally vibrant apprentice, maybe she would let deliciateephemeral practice her paints on her... "Only if you're planning to work hard. I won't be having any lazy apprentices," she said matter-of-fact with her tail held high in the air. Really, she was just pleased and proud someone had picked her. ashestoashes
Griffinpaw looked rather frustrated that he wasn't promoted alongside his sister, but he supposed he didn't blame Littlestar. After all, he'd spent most of their training with a fractured shoulder, unable to train. He padded over to his newly promoted sibling, offering a nod of his head. "Mentor?" uniqcrim
Destinypaw also made her way over to one of her siblings, Balancedscale. She had been putting off this selection as long as she could, mostly because she didn't know who the best option was. Littlestar had gently reminded her that it was now or never, though, and the young cat couldn't defy her mom. Her older brother seemed to be a good fit; after all, he seemed to have a similar philosophy of making sure his siblings stayed in line as she did with her litter. "Balancedscale, would you be willing to mentor me?" Honeystorm

"Sure, anything for my brother." It shocked her a little bit to be approached so soon but it was common for family members to train each other. Maybe not as common for littermates but she would do her best to help her brother catch up. @ian
