Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The last time that Dreampaw had tried to actually talk to Tinypaw, the small apprentice had panicked and assumed the worst. In fact, she couldn't even remember what her sister had been trying to say to her, but she had noticed something after that. Dreampaw seemed to be overworking herself to catch up with the other apprentices, and Tinypaw was exremely worried. What if her sister got sick from pushing herself? But she didn't have the nerve to intervene on anything, nor mention it. So, she had accidentally begun avoiding her sister, which definitely was going to have bad effects. But she wanted to figure something out to help.
So, the best way that she decided that she could help was by making sure that Dreampaw took care of herself. She had just caught a shrew after spotting Dreampaw at the training hollow, and left it as close as she could get without alerting the other she-cat before hiding behind a bush to make sure it was eaten.
Dreampaw was currently practicing her stalking in the training hollow. Taking up the pose that Vixensong had shown her. Her muscles ached in protest at the extensive training she had endured over the last moon. She was beginning to push herself past her limit, but was determined to catch the ladybug in the sand a few tail lengths in front of her. As she lined herself up to pounce on it her leg began to cramp, causing the apprentice to let out a yelp and abandon her target.
In Tinypaw's imagination, the way that this situation would have gone was completely different. Dreampaw would have stumbled upon the prey that she had left, and gave thanks to whoever was worried enough about her to make sure she ate before digging in. Perhaps the tiny apprentice would have kept doing this every day, silently watching as her sister warmed up to her silent protector. Then maybe she would have gotten the courage one day to confess that it was her leaving the food, and they would be happy and best friends again.
However, outside of her imagination, things hadn't turned out like that. "Dreampaw!" she shouted, as loudly as her soft voice could go, and dashed out of her hiding spot to join Dreampaw at her side. "Are you okay? What happened? Should I go get Hystericstar? Weaselpaw? Spiralpaw? All of them?" Her brown eyes were wide as she looked over her sister, worry clear in every ounce of her existence.
“CRAMP!!” The young she-cat howled failing her front leg in an attempt to get the pain to go away. “Tinypaw help..” Her voice weak and the she-cat making the pain more dramatic than what it needed to be. “Is my leg going to fall off?” She asked the wrong question to her overly worried sister.
If Tinypaw wasn't panicked before, she certainly was now. The thudding of her heart in her chest was probably loud enough to alert any prey that was in the area - and probably some cats, too. "I-I-I," she stuttered, torn between running off to grab all three of the aforementioned cats and staying to comfort her dying sister. Then, the question about Dreampaw's leg came up, and Tinypaw's eyes could've popped out of her head.
"W-w-what!?" Was that a thing that could happen!? Her gaze flickered from her sister's leg to her face with amazing speed, and her small body started trembling as she held back tears. "Don't you die on me, Dreampaw!"
"I fear this is the end Tinypaw! My leg is totally going to fall off!" Dreampaw whined as she dramatically allowed her paw and leg to go limp. "See it's already beginning to happen! The process cannot be stopped!!" Dreampaw continued to up the drama. She actually loved the attention her sister was giving her even if it was for the wrong reasons. It was the first time in a long time that Tinypaw had spoken to her.
Poor little Tinypaw probably could've just dropped dead of a heart attack with all the shock her sister was making her go through. "Hang in there, Dreampaw!" she cried, looking around exasperatedly for something - anything - that could help. Eventually, her gaze settled on the vines and moss that lined the training hollow. Quickly, she dashed over to grab some, tripping a pawful of times on both the way there and the way back.
"I-I won't let you die!" With such a bold statement, she began poorly trying to wrap the greenery around all of Dreampaw's legs.
Dreampaw wanted to let out a giggle at the fact that her sister was so worried for it. If she had to admit she did actually have cramp in her leg and it was probably from over use. The cramp did actually hurt, but it was more of a dull ache and not as dramatic as she made it out to be. Dreampaw couldn't contain herself an a small giggle escaped her lips.
While the giggle probably would have alerted anyone else to the fact that this was all just a prank, Tinypaw was deaf to it. In fact, she had thought that the small giggle was coming from her leg. "Nonononono," she repeated, her trembling paws working as fast as they could as she continued to wrap Dreampaw. Wrapping her legs wouldn't be enough, would it? If they were gonna fall off, it didn't matter how well they were wrapped! She needed to attach the moss to Dreampaw's body!
And so, that was how Tinypaw had begun to wrap moss and vines and tears around Dreampaw's entire body. "Don't worry, Dreampaw, I'll save you!"
The giggle had turned to full out laughing Dreampaw. Leaving Dreampaw to gasp for air which didn't help the situation in the slightest. She never dreamed her joke would be taken so seriously. She could almost cry a tiny happy tear at the thought. "I believe you!" She cheered.
Once again, Tinypaw misunderstood. She was fully convinced that the shaking of Dreampaw's body and the gasping was because she was about to die, which made her clumsy paws work faster. However, she soon ran out of her bandaging, and dashed to grab more, looking over her shoulder at her sister as she stumbled. "Don't you dare go anywhere! Don't leave me! You need to stay conscious!" I think. "M-maybe talk? No, don't talk! That might make it worse!"
She was rambling, but she quickly collected more vines and moss, and set back to work in wrapping Dreampaw's body. She had successfully covered all of Dreampaw's legs, and was working her way up her sister's torso. Her job was almost done.
