Swiftclan had been on the move for a few nights now. Their leader, Heavystar was sitting atop one of the branches of the large tree stacked right in the middle of the neutral grounds of the gathering place. His eyes were half-lidded as he watched his clan mingle together below, enjoying a breath of fresh air after moving through territory after territory, always on the edge- it was nice to be somewhere that no one would be able to question their presence, for the most part. He thought to himself.
It was peaceful for a while, the large silver tabby let his guard down. It was only when the bushes guarding this sacred place began to rustle and the noise levels began to pick up that he became somewhat panicked, the fur on his spine standing on end as he called to his clan to ready themselves for anything. It was only when he looked up that he noticed the size of the moon, heavy and low in the sky, that he was able to relax and hope for the best. No one said Swiftclan's timing was ever good, and apparently he wasn't one to change up that trend. He called to his warriors, instructing them to stay close to each other, but to allow their guard to slacken as they prepared for a full clan gathering. He himself sat upright, licking the fur on his chest flat as he calmed himself, waiting for the other leaders to arrive.
"What's the matter?" Fawnpelt asked Heavystar, cocking her head slightly. The young medicine cat looked striking clocked in moonlight, it blended beautifully with the muted tones of her taupe fur and made her bright blue eyes an otherworldly silver color, "I think that's just the first Clan arriving, nothing to worry about."
She'd known it was the full moon all along and had incorrectly assumed Heavystar had picked this location because of the gathering. She'd always gone to them ever since she was a kit, after all. complacentdevil

"You four need to be on your best behavior," Steepfall cautioned as he looked down as kit young children. They were old enough to cuase trouble and that was making him quite the nervous nancy. He glanced over toward Ophelia and prayed to StarClan that they two of them would be able to keep track of them. @anyone

Mistkit wasn't listening to his father Steepfall at all and was already wandering toward the bushes, "Reveal yourself! It's rude to sneak up on others." @anyone

SWIFTCLAN
Heavystar gave a light chuckle at his questioning medicine cat, glad she was here. "To be honest Fawnpelt I had forgotten about the gathering," he admitted quietly, keeping his voice down as not to alert the rest of the clan. "I've only been to a couple of these, with everything else going on it slipped my mind," he continued, gesturing to the 'everything' with a wave of his tail, hopeful that this meeting would be relatively calm and peaceful. @jadie
FALLCLAN
Weaselpaw walked himself in, Fallclan being amung the first to enter the gathering. He blinked, his icy blue eyes wide as he looked over the whole of Swiftclan sitting before him. His gaze shifted nervously, wondering what exactly was going on, but he knew of the nomadic clan and this didnt seem too out of the blue for them. With a huff the snowshoe padded quietly over towards the base of the tree where the other medicine cats would gather, keeping himself on high alert in case anything funny was going on.
Fawnpelt let out a mrrow of laughter and gently cuffed Heavystar's ear, "Those nightmares have been getting to you! Relax, Gatherings are rarely about anything important. Just steer clear of Foxstar and you'll be fine. Rumor has it she likes to haze new leaders, although you may be safe if Glowstar is around." complacentdevil
NIGHTCLAN Ever prompt, it was perhaps of no surprise that the small fawn colored leader was of the first to arrive. Her mismatched gaze burned in the moonlight; Aspenstar walked with a new found sense of power and authority. In the last moon, she had evolved, reached her final evolution. Any lingering sense of self-doubt had been whittled away, and she became a well-oiled machine. The power had finally gotten to her head, and now she was fully aware of her potential. The changes in Aspenstar had at first been gradual; she had hardened softly, slowly, the way one lazily falls asleep on a rainy afternoon. The pace of the hardening had quickened when she had come to a truce with her brother; he opened her eyes to the hardening, to the cat she was becoming. The cat she was becoming was a seductive one: to know one is not a hero but cats still bent to your will was empowering, and it enchanted the darkest parts of her. Still, though, it wasn't until she saw the look on Rosethorn's face when Phantomfox said he was in love with Aspenstar that this metamorphosis had completed. She could see the hurt written across the other cat's eyes when he confirmed their emotional affair, and when she realized that things had gone exactly as planned, that she didn't care that she had destroyed the life of a mourning mother, she realized that any hope she had to keep hold of the girl who was still soft was gone.
Since that moment, Aspenstar walked with a newly found confidence. She accepted her final form with stride; the world would stop at the flick of her tail, and she knew it. Those who had interacted with her recently were slowly becoming adjusted to her shift in personality. Some of them even welcomed the fact that no longer was the leader unsure of anything. Clinging onto humanity really had gotten in the way of her leading; this new confidence in her decisions made her decisions more respectable. However, the other cats at the gathering who had not seen her since before the fight might have been surprised at what they saw. Even at the last meeting, she hadn't come to complete self-assuredness yet. Perhaps this would solidify NightClan's position as a formidable ally. Aspenstar could only hope.
The leader turned her head to the patrol behind her. "Remember, darlings, it's best not to make a scene. Enjoy yourselves tonight," she murmured, releasing them into the crowd with a flick of her tail.
The leader then made her way over to the SwiftClan patrol. "I hope we didn't keep you waiting here alone too long," she meowed in greeting to the leader and medicine cat with a half-smile. "It's good to see that you all seem to be in well enough shape," she continued, letting her gaze move from Heavystar to his clan. "Safe travels, I hope?" It was strange how she spoke, as if the two were best friends. She supposed she hoped Cradlegrave's good will towards her carried to her predecessor, or at least it looked as if she assumed it did. complacentdevilJadie
"Yes, thank you for your concern," Fawnpelt replied, bowing her head to Aspenstar in respect. The two she-cats looked remarkably similar: slim and angular with medium-length fawn-colored fur. The NightClan leader's eyes were odd and she was a bit taller, but otherwise they would be easily confused as family up close, or as the same cat at a distance, "I hope your trip was safe as well."
The young medicine cat then turned her head toward Heavystar, "I had best get out of your fur now that the other Clans are arriving. Aspenstar, if it's not too much trouble, would you point me in the direction of Pinesimmer and Jackdawpaw?" @ian complacentdevil
Jetstar almost wished she was sick again to allow Dancingdragon and Goldengriffon to take over again. But after the flood that had devastated SpringClan's camp, the leader knew her clan needed her to give the appearance of strength and being put together now more than ever.
She had briefly visited with Ratstar before things finally dried enough to allow SpringClan to venture beyond their makeshift camp and she knew her clan was harried and weary. Unable to fully rest until things were righted, and she so hoped it would be soon.
Mostly the leader was tired, she felt angry with herself for failing to see the warning signs as the clan she led fell prey to a disaster so opposite of one she'd suffered while living in SunClan. She shouldn't have let the clan grieve so deeply.
But she had failed and as a result the leader stiffened her posture and wore her agitation on her sleeve. PRefering to give off a vibe of 'I'd rather be anywhere else but here' rather than the tired weary leader who was starting to feel in over her head and like she just wanted to sleep for a moon.
Anger was good, familiar so Jetstar grabbed it up tightly and wore it like a kittypet might wear a flashy gaudy collar.
"SpringClan feel free to do as you'd like," She said simply once they'd arrived before making her way towards the leader tree, narrowing her eyes when she saw a cat she didn't immediately recognize, with SwiftClan all around but no signs of the previous leader.
"I take it SwiftClan has had a change in leadership?" She said simply as she ascended the tree.

SWIFTCLAN
The large tom gave a smile to his medicine cat, a small beacon of light in their dark times. He nodded, the sleep loss probably was getting to him, that and the long trek here was enough trouble, now they had all cats of the land gathering around their small clan. "Ill keep my wits about me, Fawnpelt," he meowed, dipping his head in respect, "Thank you, holler if you need me." @jadie
The sound of a new voice drew hus attention away, and his eyes met with those of Aspenstar. To be fair he didnt know much about the clans of the forest, other than they had some sort of weird ghost problem. Didnt they all? he wondered to himself, dipping his head in greeting. "No worries at all," he started, "And safe travels thus far, still have a ways to go, keeping Starclan close for hope." he explained, not wanting to give away too much to an unfamiliar face. @ian
At the appearance of Jetstar as well, the silver tabby nodded, "Cradlegrave has left on his own journey," he offered with a smile, "As Swiftclan's new leader, weve begun to embark on our own. My name is Heavystar, we plan to travel close to your borders on the way to our final destination but by no means do we intend to impede." Jetclaw
Jetstar narrowed her eyes when he mentioned travel close to their borders. And what did he mean impede? Impede in SpringClan's progress to deal with the flood? How did he know about the flood? She'd only spoken to Ratstar and hadn't picked up any scent of SwiftClan nearby.
"I have no problem with you traveling close to our borders... but what do you mean impede?" She asked sharply.
After all SpringClan's camp was high ground from the river and yet still it had flooded. Though the floodwaters had impeded any investigations she knew no other clan should've been aware.
Unless had they truly been so out of the loop that they hadn't realized SwiftClan was there?

SWIFTCLAN
Heavystar gave a sheepish look, his ears flattening a bit. His tail tip twitched. Already he was messing things up. He gave a small sigh under his breath and tried his best to keep his confidence and smile up, "Just meaning we wont cross, hunt any prey from you all or anything. We know resources are scarce, and theyll only get more so as it gets colder. I just didnt want your patrols to be too alarmed is all, were not a big clan but we move as a whole." His gaze drifted out to those he could see in the mass of mingling cats. Jetclaw
SPRINGCLAN
Blackberry wandered about, looking to see who all had arrived. So far it looked like his own clan, Nightclan, and... one he wasnt wholely familiar with. Swiftclan? He let his gaze wander over cats, seeing if there was any one he recognized. With a lack of any immediate recall he sat himself off to the side, waiting to see what all might happen.
Jetstar forced her fur to lie flat though she eyed him for a moment. "See to it you give SpringClan a wide berth, we will not be kind if we catch a whiff of your clan on our lands." She said simply.
As if SpringClan could even currently hunt on their lands. It was more likely they'd wind up competing with SwiftClan just outside their lands if anything.
Her tail lashed. 'This will make things difficult.' She thought, turning away not wanting to continue this discussion as she narrowed her eyes hoping for a sign of Littlestar appearing soon. Or perhaps Ratstar.
Either of their allies would be a welcome sight, and she could pull Littlestar aside to ask for her assistance as well once the gathering ended and everyone dispersed. She just needed this to be over with.
The previous night... "Ya gotta learn sometime, Crow." The pair of toms sat within Ratstar's beech den, and though the leader looked serene, there was a heaviness in his voice that unsettled Crow. It was too close to resignation for him to be eased by it. "Yer gonna be SummerClan leader one day. I need t' know you'll be ready fer it. So, tomorrow night, I want ya t' lead SummerClan t' the Gathering."
Ever the dutiful deputy, Devotedcrow was leading SummerClan when they arrived - surprisingly early - to the clearing. His stomach was a knot of nerves, toiling and tumbling around like horned creatures in combat, but he was able to relax some seeing that only three leaders sat among the branches overlooking the clearing. The slender black tom limped slowly across to it and managed to, with some obvious effort, situate himself beside them, crouched between the leaves. "Good evening, Heavystar, Jetstar." Of all the clans present, he was fondest of SwiftClan due to how frequently he visited his family there; and, despite not knowing much of Jetstar himself, he knew she and Ratstar were good friends and allies.
But when he turned his gaze to Aspenstar, his wicked little eyes brightened into wildfire, his tone clipped. "Aspenstar. I hear NightClan has a fox problem these days. I hope you get that all sorted out," he mused, then raised his voice to address all three leaders at once. "Ratstar decided not to come tonight. He called this 'dep prep,' though between us, I think Poppymask came up with it."
-
"COME ONE, COME ALL.GET YOUR FLOWER CROWNS HERE, FRESH OUT THE GARDENS~" Sunpetal was learning to capitalize on these events to advertise SummerClan's trademark crowns, an array of them haphazardly splayed out on the ground in front of her. It had taken an effort to get them here in good condition, but after complaining loudly enough from the back of the patrol, eventually some clanmates had helped.
NightClan Phantomfox was no stranger to stares - the deep, everlasting scars on his face were a quick draw - but he knew the ones he was receiving tonight weren't because of his face. His silver gaze scanned the incoming crowd of SummerClan cats for his former mate, wondering if she would show up or if she had elected to stay behind in shame, but he didn't give it much more thought than that as he moved to sit beneath the leaders, watching the interaction closely. It was his duty to protect Aspenstar, but it was no longer a secret how deep their relationship went.
SpringClan
Of course, at Jetstar's shoulder was Dancingdragon, the newly reinstated Trusted having been eager to get out again after being restricted to the nursery for the last several moons. "It's been ages since I've been to one of these," she remarked to Blackberry, electing to hover near him as their leader broke away to mingle, imperial jade gaze shifting through the throng of assembled cats. NightClan, SwiftClan, and SummerClan - none of which interested her currently. She wondered, briefly, if she'd get to see little Reznor; she was quite fond of him.
Summerclan Rosethorn had debated whether to come or not. There was part of her that feared she might tear Phantomfox's throat out if she saw him again so soon, but the shame of staying home was too much for her to bear. So, Foxpaw remained behind with some of her nieces and nephews, and the soft-furred gray and cream she-cat entered the clearing beside the white fur of her sister, her face kept carefully neutral as they chatted. It was a battle not to turn her eyes to where the leaders gathered, but she wouldn't get Phantomfox the satisfaction of seeing her looking for him.
Orchiddrop didn't have the same reservation. While Rosethorn chatted on about how they were settling in, her sapphire eyes sought out her former brother-in-law and fixed him with a death glare that she wouldn't be the first to break.
Ah, so that was what happened to Cradlegrave. Her lips pursed slightly at the thought, but she couldn't say that she was surprised. He was a rootin' tootin' cowboy, after all. It had only been a matter of time before this came into conflict with leading. She was a strange mix of sorry and relieved that he was gone; on one hand, Cradlegrave was her friend, but on the other, perhaps now she could outlive the shame of their first interaction. "Well, it's good to see that you seem to have taken your new position in stride. As I told Cradlegrave, if there is anything NightClan can do to help, our doors are always welcome to SwiftClan."
She had barely managed to turn away when she saw SummerClan arrive. For a moment, the look on her face changed. She tensed slightly, her gaze seeking out Phantomfox. It settled on him with a blink; her previous warning to all of NightClan had had a special weight for the tom. The look in her eyes as she locked his gaze was a mix between Behave and Stand guard, I'm not sure how this will go, please I need you. There was something refreshing about being able to look at him without the glances being stolen. There was a new found freedom of not being forced to hide the ways in which Aspenstar relied on the tom, relied on him much more than perhaps a leader should rely on the captain of her guard.
She tore her gaze from Phantomfox right as Devotedcrow approached.Excellent. As if the situation couldn't be any worse, it had to be him at the front of the SummerClan patrol. You could cut the tension between the two with a knife, yet the leader responded to his words with a warm smile. "It's good to see you, Crow," she meowed, flicking the tip of her tail. Of course, she knew that the tom had a warrior name now, but she couldn't help but use the name that he told her the day they first met. The tom, and his sister, Soot, or whatever it was, had been her first conflict as a leader. "As for my fox problem, I assure you that I have my clan's affairs in order. The situation has calmed down significantly in recent days. Actually, surprisingly enough, one of the foxes has gone missing." Her mismatched gaze locked onto the tom, a faint challenge in her voice. Of course, she could only assume the tom picked up on her implications; although she veiled her statement slightly, the reality was SummerClan had Foxpaw, which meant that SummerClan had a cat that belonged to the Night. woof

Winterclan Wintrystar had sent the newly named heir ahead with the cats attending the gathering. What her leaders plans were, Indigocrown had no clue, but she took it in stride and led her clanmares to the gathering. She would surely be here soon. They say it was supposed to be a night of peace or you would anger the spirits, but it was really just a political show. Display your power, and that they did. Winterclan had been doing well. They were strong, well-fed, and as suspicious as ever. It was a good opportunity to see how the others were faring the the grizzled tan she-cat had never taken much of a liking to any of the other clans. Now that she was heir, the cat needed to view these gatherings in a different light and tonight she would mingle.
"Best behavior." She sent a pointed look at several cats who were known gossips and of a lower status jn the clan before the group dispersed to mingle as they pleased. She wandered over to where the clan deputies mingled and shot a curious glance at the leaders. Jetstar seemed to be particularly edgy and Swiftclan and Summerclan appeared to have new leaders. Or maybe they were just leading for the night. Time would reveal which was which. She felt awkward to say the least and was not exactly the most social cat in the world. So, she kept her mouth shut and the large cat sat proud, deep amber eyes observing the masses. paoracerFlurryofstarsstardanceFaithCleaversimplylightHoneystormNovaShadowbladeღgoldcrestpLutoachromaticbauble @atomheart @lore
Summerclan This was the first gathering Netherpaw had been allowed to attend and the one-eyed apprentice was practically shaking with excitement. He beamed up at Devotedcrow as he mingled with the other cats and then dove right in. Tonight, he wore his special flower crown made with violets and roses. He really felt like they brought out the gold flecks in his remaining amber eye. "Wow, Sunpetal. You really outdid yourself on some of these crowns! Are you selling them or giving them away?" He asked curiously. woof
Springclan He could not help but look for her in crowd, especially as Winterclan arrived. Would Nightfreeze be at the gathering? He had not seen her since their last little rendezvous in the meadows. He remembered it fondly and found a rock to perch on, eager to catch a glimpse and maybe even have a chat. Sure, she was winterclan but this was a place they could open talk and not be questioned. Not that the siamese tom really cared about that, of course. He felt no shame.
Fawnpelt's ears flicked back in annoyance as she realized that Aspenstar had ignored her question. Just because she was NightClan's leader didn't mean she had the right to so openly disrespect her! But the young medicine cat reigned herself back by closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. She couldn't afford to work herself into a faint at a place like this. Bowing her head, but not quite as low as the first time, she quietly dismissed herself and padded over to where Firetooth used to stand and talk with the other medicine cats. @anyone
WINTERCLAN
It had been a long time since Wolfconstellation had gone to a gathering. More moons to count, really, enough for his kits to have kits if he had any kits (which he did but shh don't tell him). Look, this tom was never much the social type and had a lot of cats he wanted to avoid. But it had been long enough, it was time to face his demons so to speak, so there he stood, a tiny little ginger floof ball surrounded by the giants of WinterClan and looking very much out of place. @anyone

Reapingnight's eyes were drawn to the vibrant colors of Sunpetal's many flower crowns. Nothing like that grew in the mountains of WinterClan and instantly he knew he was bringing some of them home with them.
"Give me one of those," He said it as friendly a tone as he count manage. He really didn't think he was being rude but he was totally being rude. woof
SUMMERCLAN
Surprisingly Poppymask was absent, having chosen to spend the quiet evening with her mate, Rateye, while the Clan was away. However... she hadn't exactly kept a close eye on her little ones, one of which, Raccoonkit, had managed to hide himself well in his older sister's flower crowns and was presently staring at any cat who approached with wide green eyes. He was doing a pretty good job of being hidden until another cat's tail got too close to him and he couldn't help but swat at all... @anyone
@ian Crow took Aspenstar's veiled comment with a smile of his own. To onlookers, they looked nothing short of acquaintances catching up, perhaps a little stiff but definitely nothing tense going on between them; to the other leaders, however, it was clear that there was something unspoken between them. "That's good to hear, Aspenstar. I'm sure the fox has moved onto better hunting grounds," he replied sweetly, "NightClan will be better for it."

uniqcrimJadie Sunpetal's fluffy, cinnamon tail curled over her back as Netherpaw approached her with a compliment. "Why, I'm so glad you noticed, Neverpaw," she crowed, "Lucky for everyone, they're completely fr-- HEY!" Give me one of those. Heatedly, she rounded on the offender, who still stood over her despite his smaller stature, and planted one of her toes against the flesh of his nose, thumping it with every word. "If you want one, you're gonna ask nicely. Now. Try. Again."
Reapingnight, a rightful WinterClan prince, let out a cute squeak of alarm that was quickly followed up with an attempt at a manly growl. It was just a normal growl though, "You just said they were free! It makes no sense to ask for them. Now give me that one!!"
The dark-furred tom reach for the yellow flower crown again, this time with unsheathed claws, he didn't plan to use them but wanted to scare Sunpetal into submission by showing off just how tough he was. Wow, so edgy, showing claws at a gathering. woof

FALLCLAN
There, Weaselpaw sat where the medicine cats normally sat. His eyes wandering from cat to cat, finally resting on Fawnpelt as she padded over. His tail flicked in greeting. He had seen her... once? He thought to himself, when Hystericstar had brought him to the mooncreek, he met Pinesimmer and Jack... Jackpaw? there too, but he wasn't even sure who they were other than cats from Nightclan. Healers he supposed, but an odd couple of cats to say the least. This one from Swiftclan was pretty normal from what he remembered though. He sat up straight, licked the fur on his chest flat and dipped his head, remaining rather quiet. @jadie
SWIFTCLAN
Heavystar nodded in acknowledgement, not wanting to upset Jetstar at all. He hoped he didnt offend her or her clan considering that he was moving his own not too far from theirs. He kept the sheepish look for a bit, knowing that saying anything further would probably get him in trouble. He perked up upon seeing Devotedcrow, his green eyes lightening as he shook out his pelt, keeping balanced on his branch. He offered him a deep dip of his head in greeting and a smile, glad to see his friend joining the leaders on the tree tonight. It was soon that he would take over for Ratstar, and he was nothing but happy for the other tom. His smile didnt disappear but he shrunk as Devotedcrow and Aspenstar began to go back and forth. While Aspenstar was a close friend to his predecessor, and he didn't want to ruin any truce that Swiftclan had with Nightclan, Devotedcrow was his personal friend, and Summerclan had blood ties within Swiftclan. He opted to stay out of it, entirely unfamiliar with whatever was going on between the two anyways. And his mouth had already caused tension with one leader- it was a mistake he didnt want to make twice. @ian woof
"Oh, you're that cutie from SummerClan! Vulturepaw, right?" Fawnpelt's sour mood dissipated pretty quickly when her baby blue eyes settled on a familiar face, "Graythorn's apprentice. How have things been in your woods? Oh, and where's Graythorn?" complacentdevil
