I stan my little gay bunnies so very much. breathes asdfghjkl;
There were many things he didn’t miss about WinterClan. The cold, the damp, the stark white surroundings and the way the sun was blinding off the snow, the cold hearts that surrounded him, the lack of compassion or care for each other or themselves… But there were also things he did miss. His little turnip, who he longed to visit every day and possibly take away with him to travel the world, but resisted every time for the good of the little kit’s health and heart; his biting and wickedly brilliant newfound best friend, Roseshade, who he hadn’t been able to say goodbye to in his haste to escape before the blade came down on his neck in the prison; and the tom who was guided by such righteousness and morality but through the serious mask and tight laced demeanor was someone he knew had a gentle heart capable of so much love, Guidinglight, the one who took him in as prisoner in the first place.
But with all of those things, did he find it in himself to risk his life once again and return to the land of ice and snow to see them? His hesrt ached, for he already knew the answer.
It had been moons since he’d returned to SpringClan and once more made it his home. He loved everything about it here; the gentle breeze, the smell of cherry blossoms, the quiet burbling of the river, the lush green grass beneath his feet, the warmth of the sun, the refreshing scent and feel of rainfall. No matter where he visited or who he met, SpringClan was always home. Except… Maybe that wasn’t entirely true. There was one he could see being his home; not a place, but a person, where he could snuggle up inside their heart and find it cozy and comfy no matter what setting they found themselves in.
But that was surely impossible, and Stygian, for once, didn’t find following his family’s motto to attempt the impossible when it came to this.
The black tom sighed and gazed down into the stream water, the blue clarity of it. He was laying on the grass next to it, arm hanging down and paw lazily floating in the water. It truly was beautiful. He sighed again.

Sytgian probably would have thought he was imagining things, as a single figure appeared on the distant horizon. Floating like a ghost through the cherry blossom petals, Guidinglight moved swiftly over the ground with Riverlotus at his side. The white tom had patiently awaited escort on the edge of SpringClan's territory, until Riverlotus invited him across. Always the face of chivalry, trespassing wasn't his style.
He had been sent here by Wintrystar to pass along a message, well perhaps sent wasn't the right word. He had heard about the mission and volunteered to be the messenger. He hadn't seen the strange tom he had captured all those moons ago since their escape from the prison. Remembering that Stygian had mention SpringClan a time or two, he couldn't pass on the opportunity to perhaps get a glimpse of him... to convince him to turn himself in of course.... Not because he wanted to see him.
Scenting a semi-familiar crisp cool scent on the breeze, the tom lifted his head in confusion, only for his eyes to widen comically at the sight of his brother walking alongside a familiar stranger he never thought he’d see again. Standing quickly, he had the bizarre urge to check himself over and make sure every hair was in place, but ignored it and padded quickly over. “Riverlotus! Guidinglight?” He blinked again, smile growing on his face though it was laced with confusion. His eyes landed on his brother silently asking what happened to bring a WinterClan noble to Spring, but turned back to the white tom.
“You… um… Hi! I didn’t- Are you here for a… reason?” He smiled brightly at him, though tried to keep it toned down. Why was he so nervous?

Riverlotus shrugged his shoulders "He said he has a message from Wintrystar to pass along to Jetstar. He was on his own, so it seemed harmless enough" the handsome toms were standing side by side, but they couldn't have been much more different. Riverlotus was solid black, thin skin stretched taunt over well toned muscles. The white patch on his chest catching the light, a warmth behind his harsh gave. Guidinglight was thickly furred, white as snow, the only dash of color upon his body was the bright blue eyes and soft pastel pink pads on his feet. His gaze was cold and distant.
Guidinglight dipped his head respectfully " It is as your clan-mate has spoken. You seem to be faring well"
Stygian swallowed and nodded in aborted movements. "I am." He murmured, tone soft. He smiled a bit, the mischievous glint back in his gaze, though it appeared to act more as armor than any genuine desire to be playful. "As do you. Look. Well." He winced at his inability to properly form sentences and made it a point to avoid his brother's gaze. "Well. I'm sure whatever Wintrystar has to say, it's very urgent. I won't keep you any longer." He smiled, wanting suddenly to jump into the water next to where he was sitting and swim back to camp, or off a waterfall, he wasn't sure.

Riverlotus glared at Stygian from behind Guidinglight for fumbling over his words like a kit with moss ball. Putting back on his mask of courtesy, Riverlotus stepped between the two "This way, sir"
The white tom dipped his head to Stygian "Very well, lead the way" he walked behind Riverlotus, stealing a glance backwards at Stygian. Just to see if he was going to follow after them, and not because he was reluctant to go.
The black tom had tried his best to appear nonchalant, uninterested, unbothered. Instead, as he watched his brother and the interesting tom walk past him and toward the camp, he found himself tilting his head, ears flopping to the side with the movement, and slowly padding after them, hiding behind trees when he felt the white tom or his brother were going to look behind themselves.
Back at camp, Sakurapaw was taking a much needed break, rubbing a salve into her sore paws and wincing softly when she saw movement at the camp entrance and turned her head at the distraction, blinking in surprise when she saw a long-furred white pelt brush through after one of their warriors distinctly smelling like WinterClan. Bizarre.

Guidinglight disappeared into Jetstar's den, only to emerge a little while later still wearing the same serious expression. He walked over and sat beneath one of the blossoming cherry trees, the pink petals floating down. One of the delicate petals landed on top of his head, as he sat unmoving. He needed to await Jetstar's answer, but she would need time to think it over He had been asked to wait in camp, as he watched to see if a certain cat would make an appearance.
Having blinked her gaze away from the novelty of the white tom's appearance, the medicine cat had turned back to the task at hand, but found herself distracted once more by another oddity: the slinking of a black tom who appeared to be hiding the best he could behind various stones and bushes, even a few of their clanmates at certain points. Currently he was pressed against the side of the healer's den, silver eyes trained on the white tom that had entered not long ago. The white she-cat tilted her head.
"Stygian," she called and at his panicked gaze that shot directly to her and his rapidly shaking head, she lowered her voice and looked around them, padding toward him slowly, "what are you doing?" she finished in a whisper.
"Nothing, absolutely- nothing." He smiled at her blindingly and she narrowed pink and purple eyes.
"Getting into trouble again?"
"Of course not."
"Hm... why do I not believe you?"
Stygian slumped a bit, but tried to keep his pearly white grin on his face, despite his gaze not being able to stay on her for longer than a few seconds, always straying back to the tom several paces away. She followed his gaze and hummed, a mischievous gleam coming to her mismatched eyes – an expression she hadn't carried for some time – and she glanced at him out of the corner of her eye.
"Why don't you just go up and talk to him?"
"Talk to- to him? No, Sakura, he's like a god."
The medicine cat fixed him with an unimpressed stare. "He's no more godly than you are. There's no need to be intimidated."
"I'm not intimidated," he huffed, while a knowing smile grew on her face.
"Ah," she breathed out, before raising her voice, knowing the white tom across the clearing would overhear, "You like him."
