Regulus has settled quiet nicely into his new nest...new room in the mansion. He found that his tower was rather to his liking. It was away from most of the others so he had his privacy, but close enough to gather cats if it was needed in a hurry. The Nemesis could over look the forest from his view thinking things couldn't be better. But he was wrong there. Curled up next to him was his lovely assassin Agamede. The way she was around him, and him her felt nice. It was soothing to here the sounds of breathing bringing in a comfort he did not realize she could bring in. It also made Regulus realize just how lonely he was without having a nest partner like herself. Nest partner... that didn't sound quiet right. No he had to call it for what it is: she was his mate now and he found that he didn't mind that. When it came to she cats Regulus wasn't one to just pick any old cat with interest. Agamede had surprised him, caught his attention, showing him just how fun she was. Regulus felt drawn to her like no cat had before. With her like this...it made him feel something he did not know or recognized. Oh well. Instead he curled up closer to the she cat letting himself fall into a warm doze. Honeystormachromatic

Honestly, Agamede wasn't one to pick a random tom either. Rather, she was especially picky, but Regulus had piqued her interest, and as it turned out, he didn't disappoint, either. What had started out as mere curiosity had blossomed into much more than that, and she could confidently say this was the first time she'd ever feel such a way about anyone, and given the fact they were mates now, she didn't expect to feel such away about anyone else anytime soon, if ever. When he moved, so did she, nestling herself gently against him with a sleepy purr as she fell back into easy sleep. The days where sleep was fitful were long gone, it seemed. By his side she was comfortable and safe, and he the same, so long as she had anything to say about it.

Together they were both like a piece the other didn't realize they had missed. Regulus could have gone on his entire life without meeting Agamede and not realize how empty he was until he met her. The Nemesis felt like everything was falling into place. He was leader, they were now in a new territory, new home, and partner in crime. The nest was so warm and comfy he felt like nothing could take away this moment from him. achromatic

(OOPS SORRY forgot to bookmark)
It was another day for Bermondsey; he had a couple of tasks to go with. Observe some trainees and how they were getting on, send out scouts to their new border, organize a clean-up crew for whatever mess was left in the abandoned mansion...oh and of course, run a couple things by Regulus. He was still a bit wary of their Nemesis and confused about what the tom wanted. He found Regulus a little...off-putting? No that wasn't the word. Unsettling. Perhaps that was the term.
It wasn't that the tom was hard to read, it was just...he seemed almost a little too nice. How did a cat claw his way to the top of the world by being so calm and collected? All the previous leaders he had witnessed ruled with an iron fist and a reign of fire, but Regulus had a quiet aura about him, something like a rock, steady and unassuming and well...hard to read. Okay, Bermondsey would admit, he found a lot of cats strange to read around here. Half of them were insane or something–yes, he was talking about Agamede and Eshek–and the other half just didn't seem to have any true motivation other than survival. He didn't get it.
The tom was musing in his thoughts as he wandered through the halls, finally entering through the giant doors of the Nemesis' den, expecting the dark tom to be working or discussing some matters with other cats. "Regulus E'tan, I–"
He stopped in his tracks. Regulus. Agamede. She's his assassin, this made sense. Wait, no it didn't. Wait, were they....cuddling? His eyes immediately widened and his mouth opened and closed, as if not ready to admit to the truth. Yep, he was definitely in denial. Was this some sort of new way of protecting the Nemesis?

Agamede, naturally, woke up first. After all, she was Regulus' assassin, it wouldn't do to be such a deep sleeper that she would sleep through an attack of any sort. Dreamily, the ghost-like she-cat raised her head, peering at Bermondsey with her usual smile, one that could easily be her half awake, or perhaps it was just unassuming and a ruse. A gentle purr escaped her throat, as she scooted over slightly, making extra space in the nest and patting it lightly with a paw. "Care to join the cuddle pile?" She questioned, stifling a yawn with her paw.

Regulus E'tan opened one sleepy eye to see Bermondesy with his eyes wide, mouth agape in awe, and wordlessly floundering like a fish. The Nemesis went from sleepy to wide awake in a matter of seconds but only carefully lift his head as to not lose the comfy position he was in. "Uhh yes Bermondesy, what can I do for you?" Instead of freaking out or feeling embarrassed The Nemesis spoke casually like these things just happen. Like nothing was out of the ordinary here at this moment with him cuddling up with his new mate. Seeing his expression he realized he never told the warden that Agamede and him were now mates...wait this could be fun...especially after the fiasco with the party... "Why yes Bermondesy join us if you want. It's so nice and cozy here. I know just how much fun you like to be."

Oh gods. Oh gods what did he walk into. Wait a second, did they ask him to...join? If one was staring at Bermondsey's blank green eyes, they'd assume he had short-circuited because surely there was nothing going on behind there, but in reality, it was like the dog in a burning room. I'm fine. Oh yeah. I'm totally fine. Oh, gods. They were....they were...
"Nevermind," he spoke in the squeakiest voice possible as if he was a child caught out of bed past midnight, "I–I just...wait, did you just ask...if I wanted to..."
His face was beet red at the mere thought of it. Did Regulus really ask him to join their...whatever euphemism they were using for this, a cuddle pile wouldn't have been his first choice. Just the thought of them...together...oh gods he was going to be sick. He could feel his head spinning. Was he going to faint?

"You know, you look like a fish standing like that." Agamede mused with a quiet laugh. "Going to join in? We have plenty of room." She glanced just barely at Regulus, happy to string this along as long as he was. The ghostly lynx point would be lying to say she didn't enjoy flustering the Warden. And he was oh so easy to set off.

His brain wasn't working. There were so many thoughts going through his head. Were they canoodling? When did this happen? Were they just sleeping together or mates? Wait a minute....wait a minute...Regulus was sleeping with his assassin, was...was that what he was supposed to do?
"You're not trying to set me up with Elizabeth, are you?" he blurted out, an almost horrified expression on his face. Oh gods he was going to die of embarrassment if da-Regulus E'tan was trying to set him up with someone.

"What, do you think she's cute?" Agamede answered immediately, easily playing into it and happy to go on until Reg decided it was enough. "I'm sure I could get you a date."

"I'm going to vomit," he replied dryly, "if you have any type of assumption that I'm attracted to anyone in this goddamn place." He didn't feel attraction, and gods, he'd rather die than have kits and continue this cursed bloodline of his. (how ironic) He had no interest in courting some cat stupid enough to throw away her life for his sake...
His brow furrowed. Wasn't that a bit strange? To court your own assassin? He frowned, staring at Regulus for a moment, as if not quite understanding all of this still. Perhaps he was in denial of it all.
"I don't get it," he grumbled under his breath, "you two? Together? Why?"

"Why not? There is no rule stating you can't be a mate to a warden, proxy, shaman, or assassin. Sometimes these things just happen Bermonesy but it could still happen to you in time. I don't regret this decision and Agamede makes me happy. Especially when she starts to..." and left the sentence open ended. Just to poke a little bit of fun at his warden who was completely flabbergasted. Regulus gave a small wink to Agamede enjoying her side of the conversation.

He was going to throw up. Disgustang! Bermondsey was starting to feel his face turn green, as he gagged almost audibly. "That wasn't what I meant!" he snapped, looking rather sick of all of this right now, fighting the grimace from his face. The tom was starting to get a headache. This was too much news for a day.
"Are you really going to be able to take it? Sending her out there in the middle of danger just to get killed?" he scowled, eyeing Agamede before turning to Regulus, "isn't the assassin's job to protect the Nemesis with their life? Is she really going to be able to do that? Would you be able to live with yourself if she does?"

With a giggle, Agamede trailed her nose down Regulus cheek and neck, side eyeing Bermondsey the entire time as he had a visible reaction to the entire situation, mouth stretching in more of a smile as she did so. "It's cute that you think I'm that easy to kill." The Assassin purred. Did it answer the question? No. But really, the lynx point had no intention of dying, nor letting Regulus die. Which simply meant all threats to him would have to be neutralized before that happened. She was raised by an Eerie, which meant death likely had a restraining order against her.

"Yeah yeah, no one plans to die," Bermondsey scowled, "it's just a what-if, you know, a hypothetical. Another what-if; if you have kits, who's going to protect who? This makes no sense at all."

"Look that is a great question and all but I am not worried or concerned. We both knew what we were signing up for and wanted this to happen. I mean Agamede is strong, smart, sexy, and clever. If we were to have younglings then we would figure things out necessary but I am sure everything will be fine. We are both adults you know." Regulus looked down towards Bermondesy tilting his head slightly, "I appreciate your concern and you know if you are really super worried about our unborn unplanned younglings then we have both decided you can watch them after they are born. You can be like their uncle or something. Think you'd be okay with that Agamede?"
"Uncle Bermy has a nice ring to it." She agreed with a purr, "I'm sure our kits would just adore him too. Perhaps we should have a litter, if he's so interested in babysitting for us." Agamede continued with an easy smile. "Could even add it onto official Warden duties, seeing how important it is that our non-existent kits are raised by only the best."
He made a face, giving Agamede a glare, as if to say: don't you dare. The thought that the two of them would be having kits and knowing Agamede, she'd spend all of her time making sure her kits annoyed the hell out of him...he practically shuddered at the thought. "Maybe you can babysit mine instead and let me get back to work," he replied in a deadpan, "god knows she-cats like you would be much better at raising them than a tom like me. Maybe we can add babysitting to assassin duties, since you're supposed to be support staff."

Regulus couldn't believe Bermondsey said Agamede was support staff but instead of being angry was mildy impressed the tom had the balls to say that to the Nemesis and his Assassin. "Now now Bermondsey Agamede has a lot of duties and responsibilities. For all you know she could have already saved your life without you knowing. You don't want to anger the one in charge of protecting you." The Nemesis paused almost in thought before he added, "You know that I think of it perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea getting father's invested into the lives of their younglings. When you have your younglings I'm going to have you put as much time and dedication as you can into raising them. Have you be an example of toms being able to raise younglings as well as she cats. I mean that'll be a great learning experience for you AND the others. You'll still be able to do your duties, I'll make sure of that, but fatherhood will look good on you." Careful what you ask for or say, could bite you in the ass, thought Regulus to himself.

The tom's eyes flashed at that. Of course, there was a part of him that truly did want to try. That wanted to be a better father than Alistair ever was, to give them what he never had, but there was a part of him that wanted nothing to do with them. Who had never wanted kits at all, who had sworn a pact with his sister the night they had watched their sister slaughter their mother, their brother's eyes gleaming so brightly as his plan came to fruition, to never have kits on their own lest they become just like this, just like him.
It was two sides of him, constantly warring with one another, but right now, it was his family's side that had won out today. "I never wanted kits," he scowled, "and you may be the Nemesis, and I may respect you enough to carry out your will, but you don't control what I do and what time I spend with my family."
Perhaps Bermondsey was acting like a petulant child, but who ever said he wasn't exactly that, a spoiled pampered prince who grew up realizing the world was plenty different than how he was raised?
