Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Destinykit had tried not to be disappointed with how the day had went. This afternoon, she was going to have one on one time with her mom! It was hard to do, both because Littlestar had many obligations and she was in a relatively mid-sized litter. Time with just mom was special, and she had been so excited to explore camp with Littlestar! That seemed a little less likely now, as the rain of the late summer afternoon storm still pattered the ground. Still, she sat tall, eagerly waiting for her mom. Even if they could only sit in the den, quality time was quality time, right? racer

Littlestar had to admit that it was difficult to balance the needs of everyone around her. Her newest kits needed near constant care and attention, trying to reach out to the children that had been stolen from her by Bloodystar, trying to figure out what this entity wanted with her and her family, getting the clan back into shape, and trying to physically recover herself from the abuse she had suffered. She was always walking a fine line, but one thing she always tried to make time for was giving her children at least some of her time. Today it was Destinykit's turn, as she let Skipstep take the others to the nursery to play just before the storm broke "It seems our adventure might take place a little closer to home than you were hoping" she leaned down to nuzzle her daughter's cheek "but there is still a lot that we can do from in here" @ian
Detinykit smiled up at her mother warmly. "That's okay, Mama!" she purred, bumping her shoulder affectionately into the leader's side. Of course, the kitten didn't understand the weariness in her mother's bones, there wasn't any way a kitten could understand the complexities of SunClan's last year, but she knew that Littlestar was doing her best. "What were you thinking, Mama? You always have the best ideas," she beamed, shifting her weight slightly.

The silver queen thought about it for a moment "I have a few ideas, but you will have to tell me which one you want to do the most' her tail reaching up to tickle her daughter's nose "We could paint each others fur, get something to eat, or play a game!" Littlestar smiled, awaiting her daughter's answer. She thought she had a pretty good idea of what Destinykit would choose, but kits always had a way or surprising you just when you thought you had them figured out
Destinykit nodded eagerly, her eyes bright. They were all good options, but Destinykit only took a moment to contemplate. "I think we should paint each other's fur!" she meowed with a nod, looking proud of her decision. Fur painting was an important part of SunClan's culture, and her mama had to be the best painter in the whole group! Destinykit couldn't pass up the chance to learn something so important from the best! "Your paintings are always real pretty, mama."

A spa day it was.
She had to admit that just getting to relax for a little while sounded quite nice, a respite in the storm of duties "Very well" she purred, rising to her paws and grabbing out some of her personal paint stocks from the clefts and cracks that also held herbs. As the High Priestess she was allowed to wear almost every color of paint, where as Destinykit was only allowed to wear red "There are other cats more talented than I am at painting. You should have seen Duskslayers work before he left for the regime, it was quite marvelous I have to admit"
The silver queen laid out the leaves of glimmering paints before her daughter, a little different from the paints used by most of the clan. It was glossy, with glimmers of glitter mixed into the vibrant colors. As the High Priestess, appearances were rather important so she mixed these paints herself to bring out the best in them.
"Just for tonight, pick whatever color you like" she purred warmly
She smiled widely as she saw her mother search through her own paints. This was so exciting - and important! If Littlestar taught her to be the best painter now, she'd surely be able to serve the Sun God later!
"I don't think so, mama. I think you're the absolute best and if anyone says otherwise I'll .... I'll..." What would she do? ".... tell them very nicely that they are wrong and that they should learn some respect!" She puffed out her chest, making it even more clear that any defense the kitten would give would probably be undercut by the fact she was small and precious still. "I'm sure his painting is good, mama, but I'm sure yours is better," she finished her little tyrade with a purr, before her eyes widened into saucers.
"Any color I want?" This was the most exciting thing to have ever happened to her! She looked at all the colors, but was drawn quickly to the ones normally worn by the soothsayer or the Januses that leaned more towards the soothsayer education. Although the bright, warm colors that dominated SunClan were pretty, she wasn't going to pretend that they weren't, there was something... special about the warmer colors. "What about these ones, Mama?" she asked, looking at the paints in question.

"Good choice" she purred warmly, an amused expression at her little rant. She was still so young an innocent, and it was moments like this that made her want to keep her that way forever. She gently opened the blue and purple paints, the leaf unfolding to reveal it's content "This paint is usually for the soothsayers, we reserve the cooler colors for them to set them apart from the rest of the clan. The Soothsayers are our spiritual guides" she dipped her claws into the paint and gently began to drawn on her daughter's forehead
"They wear an eye upon their forhead, to show that they can see beyond the physical world"
