The box was plenty easier to push once Uta had helped, and it didn't take long for the box to be pushed up against the shelf, and for Rhiannon to leap on top, paw already pushing against the glass surface of the cabinet wall, and they were lucky this time, that the door of the cabinet was one of those magnetic ones where you push a little and it pops right open. With a grin, she nudged the glass to the side and slid right in, turning to give Uta a look that said 'if you try to lock me in here I'm going to kill you'.
There wasn't much, other than a couple of bottles that seemed a little old, a little out of place. What were they? She had seen them scattered around the alleys of the city too and well, Rhiannon was like every other cat, which meant she was especially talented at knocking things over.
A few seconds later, one of the bottles came crashing down to the ground, her grey eyes wide with a faux-innocence and the same curiosity that drove her into this house.

The call of a cat's instinctual 'climb high, trust me bro' was too hard for even him to resist following her up if only just look down from the better vantage point and look at the exact same mostly-empty-room only from a different angle now. He seated himself as he took in the view. Ah yes, the foretold instincts were right about this, there was totally a ton of new information to learn from up here. Instinctual demand satisfied and tail swishing from side to side from adventure, he turned to Rhiannon studying her behavior which seemed rather familiar with the working of a twolegs' nest. He just thought she struggled to claw at the door and they would be on to the next part, but what was this? It just opened?? He could a learn a thing or two from this one.
/a look that said 'if you try to lock me in here I'm going to kill you'./ His pupils dilated with the realization that he could in fact just do that, and shrank back into more a slit-shape as a sign of self-control to not just immediately go for the kill so to speak. Sometimes you gotta play with your food a little after all. He followed her to the door nonetheless to watch her from a distance, sniffing at the door for ...safety reasons? or whatever excuse that natural habit convinced him to do it for. "Mrr-" the tom utter the sound as he wisely took note to back up and get out of the way of bottle. What was she doing? Was this a good time to lock her up now? He had to admit it was rather tempting, especially when she told him not too- like telling any child it just made him want to do it all the more.

"I have no idea what that is," she mused, looking down at the purple liquid that now spilled out from the empty bottle, but she was curious to the thought of what the humans ate or drank. Whatever it was, it smelled interesting, and she was curious. "Do you think humans drink that stuff? Or is that what they use for something else? Some type of rituals instead?"
There were so many curiosities here, and so many things she was uncertain about, but everything was interesting to her. "What else could be here?" she murmured, as she continued to move along the cabinet, glancing at the gleaming things, glasses and old knick-knacks alike.

"They do like to stare a light up flat-rocks all day," he referenced their strange phone devices when he considered they're behavior. "I suppose it's possible anything they do could be some strange ritual we don't know about." Uta was tempted to jump down and inspect the new liquid but first... He looked back at the her, turned away glancing at everything and the door - just there.
He quietly pawed the door closer and then slowly started to swing it - EERRrrrK the hinges unleashed an ungodly creak that caught even him off guard as near closing it all the way. Oops. busted.

"Flat rocks?" she spoke absentmindedly, leaping up to the next level of the shelf as if ascending a ladder somehow, feeling the shelf wobble for a second, before she continued forward, investigating the jewelry and the books that seemed to fill the shelf.
She immediately turned, flashing a dangerous look at the other cat, the fierce expression of her wildcat ancestors shown through her expression. Rhiannon didn't consider Uta as a danger; she saw him more as just some cat with a sense of mischief, but it was irritating when someone interrupted her work.
"What do you think you're doing?" she asked sharply, a raised brow making her look rather owlish, though her grey eyes held that warning nevertheless.

/ What do you think you're doing? /
"Why getting the door for you my dear," he responded with a flat-tone and with no hesitation as he pawed the door the last two inches closed- before bouncing back open. What. He tried again but it bounced back open as he wasn't swinging the door hard enough/he was slamming it too hard and creating this awkward mess of ruining their bonding friendship. He looked up to her quite fine with admitting defeat without a single ounce of shame.
"How bout we call it even?" 'and forget this ever happened?' would be the rest of that sentence.
(i know i asked about what kind of kind push-lock it is, and it might be different from the the kind i grew up with but here some nonsense for th lols anyways)

She should've been annoyed, even mad at the other cat, but she couldn't help but laugh at the feeble attempts he made at locking her in the cabinet. "Call it even?" her lips twisted into a sneer as she popped out of the cabinet in a delicate manner, approaching Uta with a gleam in her eyes, "I don't think it'd be even you know, considering you're the one doing me wrong. Shouldn't you come bearing a peace offering or something? You've only been antagonizing me for the last couple of minutes after all."

"Well, I like to think of it as entertainment. Clearly I'm the spice in your life." he replied so confidently, and still deadpan that was hard to tell if it he actually believed it or was just really good at selling his jokes. "But I suppose if you insist," he shrugged a paw as he turned away and hopped down to the floor to inspect that mysterious liquid she had dropped moments ago.
"I guess I could get you a drink" and when the nearest drink was at his feet it only stood to reason he had to try it so he could offer her the easiest drink option that she technically both found and opened in the first place. No one ever said he wasn't lazy.

She made a fake gagging noise, looking Uta dead in the eye with the sarcastic glint in his expression before leaping down to where he was. "You can owe me," she replied in a sing-song voice, her eyes glittering with amusement, "or you know, I could lock you up in a cabinet next time, see if I'm a bit more successful than you are in that regard? Might be fun, think of it as sort of an escape room."
Her curiosity however, was on the spilled wine. "What kind of drink is that?" she frowned. She had lived in the wilds her whole life and even now, she was still learning more about the humans and their strange habits.
Post by Shadowbladeღ on Sept 26, 2021 19:25:00 GMT -5
"I prefer not to owe anyone..." he glanced at her, an expected response from any self-serving PI cat. "Wow an escape room, well in that case we should both be locked in one and first to escapes wins!" he amped up a little more excitement that time before "And you know, loser dies or whatever." he went dead tone and shrugged, sounding as non-nonchalant as it was to him but also as bored and simple it sounded to him. Meanwhile he was studying the drink and didnt have an answer for her when she asked.
"I dunno, smells kinda ... strong" he struggled to imagine what it was when it had it fruity smell, and that punctual odor was somehow familiar almost like... "fermented berries? But it so... No, must just be something with fruit then?" he didn't have the words to describe how it was different or rather why it was. Did that make it more dangerous? In the wild, fermenting was a hard craft to master when you don't have opposable thumbs or sealed containers or much of control over the process for that matter so he could believe he was correct, surely it must be bad by now. So few have rarely seen and knew about the process beyond their limited, archaic methods and results.

She rolled her eyes. Toms, they were all so ridiculous sometimes. She wouldn't be surprised if he was either insane or pretending to be. What kind of cat enjoyed getting locked up in a cabinet anyway? Rhiannon truly didn't know.
She was, however, curious about the curious substance spilled upon the ground. It smelled strange, as if something she shouldn't even think of tasting, and yet...who was Rhiannon if not driven by her own curiosity? By her insatiable need for knowledge?
"You should taste it first," she smirked, "berries are tasty, aren't they? You mentioned you wanted a drink earlier, didn't you?" She too wanted to try it, but she'd make sure it wasn't poisonous first.
Post by Shadowbladeღ on Oct 8, 2021 22:40:07 GMT -5
/You should taste it first/ "I dunno..." he started naturally, "I mean I guess if things go south I do always have a way out, but depending on it's effects and how much time i would have - it would probably involve killing you, but that's a hassle and I'm not suppose to do that anymore." The marbled tom aluded to something but without much more thought he made his mind anyway, "Well, guess I'll just have to take my chances. I'm sure Accalia and the kits would understand."
Let's be real, this was just some bad berry juice as it's worst after all, right? And he was thirty and his own 'curious to a fault' had long progressed into 'recklessness for a deathwish' with age rather than self-preservation. He extended his neck closer, giving one more nose twitch of a cautious sniff of the substance before lapping it up once, then twice. He smacked his mouth a bit with narrowed eyes as he stuidied it's taste and the tip of his tail flickered behind him.
"It... has .. some kind of fizz and... would probably taste better cold?" Even a bad flavored fermented berry batch could taste passable if it was cold and while this wasn't bad there was something stronger about it that could be muted by temperature if desired.

She chuckled, amused by the honesty. "Glad to know," she commented, " but if I may, you're going to have to try a little harder than this to kill me. Trust me, loads have tried and I'm still here, aren't I?" It was amusing to her how easily swayed he was, and yet how he seemed to care about his mate and kits. Yep, she couldn't relate; after all she found the existence of her own kits disgusting, and her deadbeat fling was bothersome at most, a tragic failure if she was being honest with everyone.
Her ears perked up as he gave it a taste, her eyes now sparkling with amusement and curiosity. Well, he didn't instantly die, so that's nice. "Better cold?" she echoed, furrowing her brow, "that's it?" She frowned, glancing at the liquid. Everything told her not to, this was dangerous and reckless and surely would be the end of her, but she wasn't going to live life afraid of consequences. Her resume for her life so far had said all that much.
With a sniff, she licked the juice, grimacing a little at the strange taste. "It tastes kind of like blood," she frowned at the metallic tang, the acidity making her nose wrinkle, and the smell of...something underneath all of that...she didn't know what it was. Still, she took another taste. "Humans really drink this stuff?"

"Really? How fun, I should have one of my kits marry you, what your type?" he asked as he went back to sniffing the liquid; sounding so harmless when paired with a smile, but since when he start using terms like 'marry' when he wasn't even married? Or how could this tom think he could go from not caring about his 30 something kits and now think he had any influence into getting them with 'arranged' relationship. He really did live in his own world sometimes...
"Ah yeah - cold like something to keep bottled up into the leaf-bare season and then opened or once I learned this fun trick to use some twoleg tall, cup-thing and then you stick it in or next to a river so it's get like a chilly-cool if not cold." He started to ramble a bit, waving a paw and looking to where the sun would have been if he could see through the nest's walls, losing his focus or sharing knowledge; in either case something he tended to do. He came back to at the sound of 'blood'. "I didn't the notice the metallic taste..." course for him, it was nothing special and he wouldn't have pointed it out even if he did. Makes cats start asking 'why do you know that?' and giving him funny looks for the rest of the month.
"Eh, twolegs are crazy - they eat apples, cherries and even deadly pufferfish. Don't they know those seeds and pits and the whole fish is deadly to eat?" He spouted old wives tales but to be fair he wasn't going to do his own research to debunk either and all it takes it one kit to chew a pit or seeds and start acting sick for a new 'deadly' food to be added to everyone's list.

She gave him a deadpan look. "Dead," she scoffed. She wasn't exactly the type to fall in love at all. In fact, anyone who knew her probably would assume she was unable to fall in love; Rhiannon rarely felt any emotion other than amusement and apathy for others around her.
As much as the she-cat didn't exactly enjoy this taste, she still took another sip. How strange. Why would twolegs drink something that tasted so weird? It was amusing how much this tom knew about the humans, and yet didn't notice anything about the things around him. She rolled her eyes at his dismissive comment, but as much as she pretended he wasn't interesting, her ears perked up as he spoke about the twolegs.
Apples and cherries? Pufferfish? She had heard a story once, an old barn cat who had once lived by the sea, talking some crazy story about a fish that could turn into a balloon. She had thought he was lying, but here was this cat who was talking about the same fish. Huh. "Do you think they might have superpowers?" she asked, "like....there must be a reason why it's poisonous to us and not to them, you know? Maybe they have something that cures the poisoning when they eat it?"
Post by Shadowbladeღ on Nov 7, 2021 21:58:57 GMT -5
/ Dead /
"Ehhh? Really?" he really turned his head sideways at her for that one, he never heard of such an admission. "I didn't strike you for that, nor I have ever understood that but... I guess I just get hungry, not horny around the dead." he started to mumbled as he was over thinking her joke way too much. He was unnervingly quick to move on though and not be disturbed by the thought as he joined her in taking another sip as well. While he wasn't necessarily a connoisseur, he did enjoy fermented berries very much. He liked to feel the warmth in his face and while he wasn't quite on an empty stomach to feel it's effects soon enough, he would stick around and attempt to consume more for his own satisfaction.
/ Do you think they might have superpowers? / The marbled tabby looked up at the nest's ceiling as he gave it a ponder. In all his years he didn't tihnk he really saw the twolegs do anything of 'superpower' worth but if cats like them had unique abilities and clancats had elementals - shoot it as all adding up too perfectly. A look surprise crossed him as he turned back to Rhiannon. "Of course - they command monsters at their will, they eat deadly foods - I mean I was gonna say they must have some kind of Yarrow to make them throw it up but it's just make sense! All the strange things twolegs do, they're some kind of immune super power or immortal beings." Could he be wrong? Yeah. Was he completely sure about what he was saying? Eh, a little. Did he really care? No, he was having a great time and just in the mood to entertain the idea.

She scowled, making that face at Uta as if mocking him as he spoke, before rolling her eyes. "No I don't mate with dead cats, I'd just prefer any of my suitors to be dead so they stop bothering me," she clarified in a deadpan, before shaking her head. It seemed like she wasn't the only one who found this strange twoleg juice interesting. It seemed as if Uta enjoyed it almost as much as she did, despite how strange it tasted.
Rhiannon chuckled, it was true, they had those monsters that they entered into, and she knew some cats thought they were alive but it was easy enough to notice that they were just...things that the twolegs had control of, whether through magic or machinery. "They build all these nests that seem way too big for them to do on their own," she also pointed out, "that has to be magic, right?"

He looked at her and gave a narrowed-eyes 'really?' then his eyes lit up as if he suddenly got it except he had a 'ooooh right, sure you don't' face. He winked at her put his paw to his lips as if to say it was their secret. It must have been the bad twoleg fruit juice that made him just a little more infuriating than normal to deal with. And from his perspective, it must have been the she-cat's vice to make her open up, and what a rather dark door to open indeed.
"It hassss to, I mean they have big square leaves [painting/photos] just hanging on their wall with nothing holding them there - I know I've seen a kittypet knock one off before and only a twoleg can put it back and just.. make it levitate there. And it just floating, like an endless supply of magic and I want it - they clearly have more than they need to share." he gestured with a paw as if they were long-time conspiracy theory buddies on their weekly wine-tasting get-together.

She gave him a sickly smile. "We'll start with killing the first one," she purred, eyes gleaming as her dulcet tones betrayed her intention, "and all the stupid little kits we had too." She could honestly say that she didn't give a single flying fox about any of those kits that he had brought back into her life, in fact, she actively wanted them gone. If she could without risk, she would've already killed Harley or something, but no deed went unpunished and she wasn't about to tempt the gods anymore than she already did.
If Uta was a creative drunk, Rhiannon certainly felt the control over her own sadism fall away, and gods, she wanted to cause trouble. "What would they do if we knocked over everything they had?" she replied with glee, "do you think they'll be angry? Do you think they'll try to kill us? Maybe they'll get so angry they'll hurt themselves!"
Post by Shadowbladeღ on Nov 14, 2021 21:09:25 GMT -5
Uta relaxed into laying down and dabbed a paw in the liquid as he listened to his companion. Killing, how fun! Kits, man those twolegs would sure be disappointed but this was for their gain after all and why go after the dangerous side of a species when they could pick off the weak links? Because of course what other kits would she be talking about, he hadn't exactly paid much attention to anyone before meeting her to know what was really on her mind.
"Ahhh, we should've been breaking into twolegs nest before and destroying their dens!" the tom agreed holding a drenched paw over his head and letting it drip into his mouth. He licked his maw and gave his paw a quick lick for the excess. "I dreamed for so long that this day would come - let terrorize the twolegs! Let's have more fun!" Especially if it led to hurt twolegs, they dominated the edges of their land for too long, oh and especially if could lead to them experimenting to learn about their magic power. They had a certain fun Shaman who was always looking for that kind of stuff right?
