Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The time of day was night far after many warriors had been done with their duties. Whether they were hoping to find romance, flings, someone to have kits with, or are already disappointed by the turn out and want to go home the two were there and now it was time for conversations to fly. They only had 10 minutes and three partners to choose from so it’s best to ask and answer all the right questions to get to know the other.
Each speed round had a separate area for the two cats to talk. This particular speed round didn’t take place in a den or very far from the meeting grounds, in fact it came with an activity. One cat was meant to hunt with a leaf blindfold, while the other was supposed to direct them on where the prey precisely was in order to instruct them how to hunt. Its suggested that the cat with the closest letter to A is blindfolded while the other directs
Stormreign hooked the blindfold with a claw and held it up to examine it. It was neatly made; they just had to hope it was big enough to fit over Darksonata's eyes. He was lucky that his name was so far down in the alphabet now.
"Hold still," he told the tom with a grin, and he didn't wait long enough for the tom to protest or agree before he stepped in close, lifting up the blindfold and starting to tug it down over his companion's eyes. "Have you done this sort of thing before? Don't worry; I'm an excellent guide."

Blindfolded....really?
This definitely wasn't his cup of tea, but the quiet tom didn't protest as the soft material was tugged down over his bright blue eyes. It was difficult for him to place so much trust in anyone but his sister, but he had promised Soaringlight that he would give this dating thing a try. At least it was better this way, than the other way around. Darksonata hardly spoke more than a word or two to anyone but Soaringlight, being a much betters listener than speaker. Even with his eyes covered, hints of white scattered out from underneath the blindfold, the constellation markings along his cheek bones the only other splash of color on his silken black pelt that he had inherited from his mother. He shook his head from one side to the other in answer to the tom's question, only rising to his paws once the blindfold was in place. Shimmers of violet appearing and disappearing amongst his pelt as he moved. Both of his ears were perked towards his date, trying to be attentive and give this thing a shot. Pushing himself outside of his comfort zone he spoke,
His date was very quiet, but Stormreign didn't mind. He could talk enough for both of them. "The closest prey is going to be up ahead of you and to the left," he told him, easily locating the scent on the wind and spotting the small creature darting between the bushes. It was on the move, but he was up to the challenge, and not hungry enough to mind if they failed.
Stepping in close to nudge Darksonata's shoulders to face the right direction, he went on. "Many times. I used to help cats navigate the tunnel system in the Regime, and they had to be blindfolded when we passed by Headquarters." It was much easier to guide cats in that situation - the tunnels were narrow, and there wasn't much room for them to get lost or run into anything - but he wasn't going to mention that. "Other tunnels were dark enough you couldn't see your paw in front of your face. True darkness, true silence."

Darksonata had grown up in the Regime, so how was it that he had no idea whom this cat was? Sure he had been young when his parents brought them to Sunclan, but they had visited often enough that he had thought he had known all the current members of the the group. He tried to relax, loosening up to make it easier for the other tom to guide him in the right direction of the prey. He didn't even know this cat's name, but knowing that they were from the Regime gave him a bit more confidence that he wasn't going to be led off a cliff.
Using the other cat's directions and his own senses, he stalked forward silently. Each paw being carefully placed, listening to both his date and the mouse up ahead. His ears swiveling between the two of them "Regime, home" he replied, his hind quarters reading to pounce as they neared the source of the scurrying. He couldn't tell exactly where it was, but had a good idea of it's location. He just waited on confirmation that there was nothing in the way before launching his attack.
Hearing the other cat speak of the regime made him miss the dark silence of the tunnels, and his brother whom they had left behind. How he wished he could have went back and convinced Huntleigh to go with them. All the time that they had missed being together, because of some silly father son feud. How he longed to whisk away his sister and younger adopted siblings out of SunClan and back into the relative safety of the tunnels. Then he did something unexpected, introducing himself with his regime name "Name, Hakoda"
"Really," he murmured, whiskers twitching as he looked at the tom with new interest. It was SunClan he scented on this tom's pelt, not the earthy musk of the tunnelers, but he would not have been the first cat to flee the oppressive Regime for the clans. He thought back to his time in the dark, running through the list of cats he had known there; he spent little time in the nursery during the last moon, but he was reasonably confident he had never seen this tom before. He must have been born after Stormreign's exile.
"Well, Hadoka, you can attack at my signal." His voice was soft but he lifted his muzzle close enough to tickle the tom's ear with his breath, ensuring he could be heard. Then he stepped out in front of Darksonata, brushing his tail against the tom's forelegs to warn him he was there and leaned down to grasp a large stick in his jaws. It would have tripped up the warrior if he tried to attack, but it was too stuck to move quietly, so they needed to execute this move swiftly.
He pulled the stick to the side, and it came free from the mud with a reluctant rustling of leaves; at the same time, he hissed "now!".

Hakoda waited patiently for the command, the warmth breath of his date causing his fur to lift as a shudder made it's way down his spine. The closeness of the other tom both a little uncomfortable and thrilling at the same time. It was an odd mix of conflicting emotions, but he couldn't deny the way the tantalizing light touches made him feel. The way his heart raced within his chest, the heat that flooded his cheeks... It was rather distracting, not to mention confusing. His breathe hitched, not quite understand his own reaction to the situation.
Still when the command was given, he leapt without hesitation. Placing his trust in the other cat, landing square upon the mouse and then breaking it's neck quickly. With the hunt successful, Hakoda lifted his blind fold to see the other tom for the first time. His brightly colored blue eyes meeting Stormreign's as the other tom held the stick still within his jaws. For once, the corners of his lips curved upwards into a smile "Team"
Stormreign jerked the branch clear of his companion, but the leaves blocked his view as Hakoda pounced out of sight. Instead of disposing of the stick, he just shifted it and turned to the side to see the dead mouse and a smile on Hakoda's face beneath brilliant blue eyes. The NightClan warrior grinned back at him, looking him up and down appreciatively - there was no denying Darksonata was handsome with the intricate white designs on his face, silky coat, and deep eyes. Stormreign's eyes were just as strikingly blue but it wasn't the contrast against his short blue coat that made them stand out, it was the intensity within them.
He started to say something, but his voice was hopefully muffled by the branch in his jaws. Stepping away, he set the branch down out of the way of the next pair to go on a date here and shifted back to Hakoda. "Team," he agreed. He was silent a moment longer, contemplating those bright eyes and the cut of his jaw, and maybe he swooned a little, but it was a crime to look that good. "Well, we must be running low on time," he mused with a tiny shake of his head. "Are you hungry? Now we've got something warm to eat."

Hakoda could have stared into Stormreign's eyes for ages, but it was his gentle reminder that seemingly broke him out of his trance. It really was a shame that they didn't have longer....
In a few minutes the next couple would arrive and they would have to go their separate ways for the time being, so he wanted to savor the time that the two of them had left. In answer, he padded over to the tom's side carrying the mouse. His long fur brushing along Stormreign's side and settling down beside of him "For you" he passed the mouse over to Stormreign with a light smile
Stormreign rolled the mouse over beneath one blue paw, white toes tracing the fatal marks Hakoda left upon the prey. He crouched down before it and bit into the soft belly, treasuring the warmth of the food upon his tongue; he hadn't realized he was feeling hungry himself until he tasted it. "Thank you," he responded. There was a beat of silence as he finished.
Turning his head, the NightClan warrior could see a lone cat heading their way -- half of the next couple, he presumed. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Hakoda. There are some beautiful falls in NightClan land you might like to see. I won't make you answer me now, but if your other data aren't quite as splendid, come see me. I'll be waiting." Stormreign flashed his most charming grin and turned to go.
