[Faith @ian Cleaverstardancebiyuu ☆彡Jadie] The gathering area had been decked out in preparation of today's feast. Glass sun catchers had been hung in the trees, clattering in the green-leaf breeze and sending brightly colored lights across the clearing. A massive pile of prepared fresh-kill had been places by the stone for anyone and everyone to enjoy. SunClan had worked very hard to catch enough food for everyone for the feast, and had invited the other clans to contribute to the feast if they wished to.
Littlestar waited until the clans had gathered, before speaking. DayClan, MoonClan, and Swiftclan had arrived, but NightClan had yet to be seen. It was well past the appointed time, sun high. So in order not to keep the other clans waiting she began "Cats of the Forest Clans, thank you for joining us to celebrate the summer solstice. Today the sun is at it's strongest, lingering in the sky longer than any other day of the year. It is a day for friendship, healing, and looking towards a better future. NightClan has yet to join us, I don't know what has held them up but when they arrive please welcome them with open paws to the celebration. When you entered into the gathering clearing, each of you were gifted with a dried clay bead to wear. Somewhere in this clearing is another cat who has one that matches yours. This cat will be your partner for today's festivities and competition's, but may not be from the same clan as you. The winning team at the end of the festival will receive a mystery prize"
"In order to maintain peace during this celebration, each of the leaders have selected two peacekeepers. The peacekeepers will be watching all of you. These cats have the authority to have you take a break from the celebration, or have you return home to await discipline from your clan leader. Glowstar, Ravenstar, Cradlegrave. Whom have you chosen to serve as your peace keepers" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [If you want some of your characters to compete in the summer solstice activities(or just make a friend in another clan) reply to this thread in the format below and tag me. I will be using a random number generator to decide which cats are paired together for the contests. To keep things simple you may select up to 5 characters to compete in any clan that you have a staff/rp position in, and 2 cats for any of the other clans in attendance. There is an IN WORLD prize for the winners, as well as some artwork <3 I'm hoping to create a buzz for ALL of the ForestClans, and there will be some twists and turns along the way. Cat name - Clan]
"I'm sorry that we're late," meowed the she-cat as she made a quick dash to where the other leaders sat. She looked a little... frazzled, which was a direct result of her spending most of her morning trying to wrangle up whatever NightClan cats that didn't think they were walking straight into a massacre. "If there's one thing I learned this morning, it's that NightClan cats are not early risers." She let out an awkward chuckle, before glancing back to her clan. Most of them looked like they'd just been dragged out of bed, which wasn't unlikely, given that the sun was high in the sky and NightClan cats very rarely were out past sunrise. At least they brought prey, right?

"Welcome Aspenstar" Littlestar greeted making room for the NightClan leader to join them "We were just getting ready to announce whom each clan has chosen to be their peacekeepers" she waited until the NightClan cats filtered into the clearing to join them. They looked...exhausted? But this was always during they day meaning that the clan was out of their element "For SunClan I have chosen two cats that most of you will already know. Mountainsound(Honeystorm ) and Dancinglight(Flurryofstars )" she motioned for the two cats to step forward to present themselved to the crowd. The symbol of an olive branch emblazoned upon their foreheads in bright colors to signify their role
[My selections for the contests <3 SunClan: 1.Applecrmble 2.Lionpride 3.Tangledcurls 4. Lastingpaw 5. Darksonata
DayClan 1.Lovesmitten 2.Romancefable
MoonClan 1.Lostpaw
SwiftClan 1.Secretpaw 2.Jetfire? I may change this]
Violetpaw stared ahead unblinkingly as he fought against his exhausted mind. He should not have stayed up so late last night, but it was so weird sleeping in the dark.
Festeringfruit sat fuming at the edge of the crowd, having no desire to be present with his awkward half-grown chest hair making him look like some giant man-baby of a velcro strip. He was so NOT down to have another partner thing, and if they tried to match him then--- "A CONTEST OH BOY!" Slipperyslope shot to the front of the crowd, launching off Festeringfruit, who happened to be sitting next to him. The small tom yowled in fury as he was thrown clear but Slipperyslope didn't seem to notice, standing tall and excited. "Shadeflower! Come be partner!" he boomed over the crowd, apparently not understand the whole random partner thing.
"Do you think we should compete?" Luckywillow wondered to Dappledmint. pao
Yuccablossom wagged her tail fervently and looked to Glowstar with puppy dog eyes. As DayClan's brand new Head Peacekeeper, she was a shoe in for selection, right! Right!? Faith

"Oh hai Bravewolf! You look really different in the sunlight," One of DayClan's newest Warriors, Icejackal, said as he casually approached the Sun God. He, too, looked different in the light, his dark fur revealed to be a deep brown that only darkened to black at its points, "Rumor has it you're actually a God. That's kind of weird, I didn't peg you as the all-powerful, idol-of-a-cult type of cat." Honeystorm
SUNCLAN
Soaringlight was barely dressed up when compared to the rest of the SunClan clanmates. She had modest paint and accessories, her medium-length fur a bit puffy and messy, she came across as very casual despite the seriousness of the event. It wasn't that big a deal if she was just a regular member, but she was the Priestess Promised, expected to be an example of SunClan's best.
"I sort of wish I was still in my nest, too, Aspenstar," Soaringlight yawned, wiping the sleep from her eyes. @ian

"Hey, have you seen Radiantpaw?" Pixiepaw asked the very first DayClan cat she saw, her yellow eyes shining bright with excitement. She'd put on a bit of weight since her pregnancy but was still cute as a button, further emphasized by her fluffy fur and lack of a tail, "I really need to talk to him!" ~anyone
SWIFTCLAN
Fawnpaw's paws tingled and eyes went wide as she took in SunClan camp for the first time since she was a kitten. Everything seemed so much smaller than she imagined and far less lively. Much of the shrubbery and stray plants she remembered playing in were gone, replaced by scorch marks and a faint smell of ash. So much had changed and it was honestly overwhelming.
She went to take a step forward but felt faint and immediately put her paw back down. Apparently being here had raised her heart rate, causing her illness to flare up... Calm down, dang it! She told herself... Easier said than done. ~anyone

Moonpaw – NightClan
NIGHTCLAN
Moonpaw had never really been to a gathering, but he was excited! This was the first time he really got to see what the other clans were like; were they as fierce as the cats his father once spoke about in the forest? He had only been training for a short amount of time, but with the amount of practicing he had been doing, especially in hunting, he felt like maybe, just maybe he'd be able to participate in these games. Then again, he had no idea what any of this was in the first place. Still, he was excited!
Eshek slunk into the gathering area, trying to keep a wide berth between herself and Glowstar. She sat down a bit behind Yuccablossom, shoulders hunched; she knew the she-cat was Lucistic's - Disloyaldog, Leucisticcrow, whatever stupid name he was going by nowadays - daughter and felt a strange, reluctant protectiveness, despite hardly knowing her. Plus, the Head Peacekeeper was conveniently placed as a shield between her and Glowstar; whenever she moved, Esh, still seated and with an uninterested, glowering expression on her face, moved with her, making herself look utterly bizarre to any onlooker by swaying back and forth. Aspenstar and Littlestar probably wouldn't be too thrilled to see the random cat who had interfered with Pinesimmer's attempted murder either; so, really, it was a game of avoiding every single leader present. Unless she got bored. Then she might go tear down the glass sun catchers or casually introduce herself to them with a crap-stirring grin or something. Like 'hey, no hard feelings, you're a total babe anyway; keep doing you, queen. Don't let some random incel priest's failed assassination get you down.'
Hey, have you seen Radiantpaw? "Yeah, he's over there," Esh answered the apprentice, gesturing in a random direction. She had no idea who or what a Radiantpaw was. Jadie
(Eshek - DayClan) (this might take place before that nightclan/sunclan thread, so just ignore half that paragraph if so cx)
Pixiepaw peered in the direction Eshek had indicated but as too short to see over the sea of cats in that direction. Either that or she was being blatantly dismissed, but she chose to assume her first thought, seeing as it was easily proven.
"I can't see him, can you lead me over there? It's really important!" fox

"Is this your first time here?" Valleyrose asked, her sunstone eyes bright and warm as the daylight star her Clan worshipped, “I'm Valleyrose, and you are...?" achromatic
Aspenstar raised a single brow at Littlestar. So, her gut had been right. It only made sense, honestly, that Littlestar wasn't going to uninvite them for little to no reason. After all, the she-cat had just recently helped to save her life. Yet, that meant that there was something wrong, something lurking below the surface. If the SunClan leader could be trusted, perhaps her warriors could not. Yet, she said nothing, although she couldn't shake the look in her eye.
She turned her head to Soaringlight, offering a half-smile. "Rough night?" she asked with a chuckle, although she had the suspicion that the deputy of SunClan simply did not want to be there . She paused, waiting for a response, before looking to Littlestar again. "Larkspur and Zinniawing will be ours," she meowed, motioning her deputy and loyal guard member with a flick of her tail. seeker @jadie ѕнαdow✩
Foxpaw didn't understand why his dad wouldn't let him go! Of course, the young tom had no way of knowing that there was a clear possibility that NightClan was walking into a war zone. Although no one said it out loud, the NightClan cats that were unable to fight had been left back at the camp, with some fake orders about needing to guard Pinesimmer. That wasn't fun, though! So, as soon as the patrol left, Foxpaw had followed at a distance. Now, he was in the center of the action! "Wow!" he meowed with a grin. "This is so cool!"
Skunkpaw glanced over to his brother, an amused look on his face. "You'd think if you knew that you're participating today, you'd have tried to get a little more sleep," he teased as he offered his brother a nudge to the shoulder. Cleaver
Frenzy had been wholly unsure of why SwiftClan had been invited to the party. The strategies behind their invitation were obscured; what the hell could a Revolutionary group have anything to do with the ForestClans? Still, she wasn't necessarily upset that they were there, just still slightly confused.
"Is this your first time here?" Valleyrose asked, her sunstone eyes bright and warm as the daylight star her Clan worshipped, “I'm Valleyrose, and you are...?" achromatic
A squeak of surprise left Moonpaw's mouth when he realized another warrior was speaking to him, one with a different scent and wow! A real warrior from another clan! "I–uh, yeah!" he replied, feeling a little shy all of a sudden, "I just became an apprentice! I'm Moonpaw from NightClan. Are you from...SunClan? DayClan?" He didn't really know about the other clans and their cultures, but with how the other cat looked, he assumed she'd be from a clan as bright as her expression.
Esh let out an impatient groan. Turning to the apprentice, she laid a paw on her shoulder and told her, as kindly as possible, “listen, whoever he is, he’s not worth your time. You’re cute as a button and you’re wasting it on Radiantpaw?” She pulled a ‘see?’ face and gestured around with a paw like she was asking an invisible audience to heckle and jeer and back her up. Despite having no clue who either of these two apprentices were, she’d decided one of them was her mortal enemy. “I heard he doesn’t even groom his fur after eating. And I heard, uh—“ She picked a random colour, “Black isn’t even his natural colour. He dyes it.” Jadie
Contest Cats: Ravenstar- MoonClan (May add to this...)
If there's in his life he didn't want to go to, it was this. A dinner hosted by SunClan. What could go wrong? Ravenstar huffed as he entered the clearing, and then winced when the sun shined right into his eye. To him, this was midnight. He should have been sleeping. He then shrugged at the mention of the peacekeepers. "Hmm... MoonClan's peacekeepers will be Wickedshriek and Rubysnake."
Glowstar sashayed over to Aspenstar and Littlestar with a smile that was big even for her. "I proposed to Foxstar and she said yes. Foxbane, I mean," She said brightly snickering slightly to herself from the excitement. Glowstar was concretely, undeniably gorgeous, but this current form wasn't exactly hers. Her emerald gaze was aquamarine, her usual ocean of auburn fur instead a burnt orange descending into cinnamon swirling patterns. "Oh and I'll decide on people
"As for peacekeepers, Arcaneoutrage Honeystorm and Dragonheart frogtoast, would you like to be in charge of maintaing the peace and ensuring people don't get out of control during the gathering?" Glowstar asked.
NIGHTCLAN
Jackdawpaw sat down, his head turning around the gathering space curiously. This was his first gathering and it already felt extraordinary. Soon enough he'd be paired up, winning contests, catching some glory, it wouldn't be anything short of wonderful.
DAYCLAN
Dawninghope's pelt was on end staring at SunClan, she didn't really recognize any of them since running out as an apprentice with her mom. It felt surreal to be back in their presence, but somehow it felt like nothing had changed either. If it wasn't for the scar on Littlestar's forehead she would doubt anything happened at all.
Lilacbane who was usually one of the only DayClan cats who was hostile to outsiders was pleasantly excited for the gathering. In the correct neutral places she was perfectly fine meeting new cats and making friends, gatherings were definitely one of those places.
Autumngossamer was seated by Lovesmitten looking perfectly relaxed as she observed the gathering.
"You could say that," Soaringlight replied half-heartedly before just barely stifling a second yawn. She hadn't been sleeping well at all lately. Littlestar was doing a good job of hiding it, but there was unrest in SunClan, unrest that had nothing to do with the tyrant priest they had only just ousted. Soaringlight could tell herself that she didn't care all day long but it didn't stop the nightmares, "I heard you had a run-in with a dog. Glad to see you survived."
She wasn't being sarcastic, but her tone and phrasing certainly suggested it. She was just.. over it. Over this whole gathering, over pretending that she cared, over being Promised of a cult she couldn't stand. It was starting to weigh so heavy on her that the normally feisty - but friendly - Soaringlight no longer had the same sparkle in her eye that she once had. She was beat. @ian

"I'll give you a piece of wisdom," Valleyrose purred, pointing at the simple yellow swirls painted on her face and down her neck, "SunClan cats are the ones with the paint. Each rank gains a different color they can use. Kits start with red, apprentices orange and Warriors yellow. The higher ranks have their own colors, too, but I won't bore you with those details... Now... How about you tell me a fun fact about NightClan? I have never been myself, although my father once told me that his first date with my mom was at a NightClan party." achromatic
~*~
"I don't even think you know Radiantpaw," Pixiepaw began, her fur all fluffed up and stubby tail sticking straight in the air, clearly offended. She brushed Eshek's paw off her shoulder and made a hmpth sound before she continued, "He's charcoal gray, has very good hygiene, and is sweet as can be, definitely nicer than me. And there's no way he dyes his pelt because our son looks just like him. You're just a nasty old hag who likes to gossip!" fox
Eshek was going to beat up a child. “That’s what he wants you to think! Maybe he’s sneaking into camp and dyeing the kid blackish-grey too!” (She wasn’t about to let the black fur thing go — she’d never met Radiantpaw but in her eyes he was black-furred and she was going to keep forcing it into the conversation). “And I’m literally like a year older than you!” she argued, getting all up in Pixiepaw’s face, completely shameless about the fact she was letting herself be drawn into a tiff with a literal apprentice.
And she was only a year or so older, not counting the two years she spent, y’know, being dead. She sat back and stroked her cheek with one paw, wounded and frowning; but no, she was still hot. Thank God. Letting out a breath, she sheathed her claws and forced herself to relax, turning her head away and raising her chin. “I wish you and your little husband every happiness. I only wish I’d had the chance to be a child bride too, but unfortunately I’m too old.” She sneered pointedly at Pixiepaw. From a feared proxy to... this. How humiliating. “Now go away. All my love to the little twerp when you find him.” Jadie

NIGHTCLAN
Moonpaw's eyes widened as he glanced at the she-cat, before turning to the crowd once more, suddenly realizing that, huh, Valleyrose was right. There were cats with designs painted upon their fur. He hadn't noticed before; was that how different clans separated themselves from one another? NightClan didn't seem to have anything akin to this custom, but he didn't really know enough about his own clan to really tell.
"Uhm...." he hesitated, giving Valleyrose's words a thought. "Well...we do our training in pairs!" he piped up, remembering something his mentor said about how they did things differently than other clans, "we have training partners that we work with so we can get to the top of our class! Is that the same with SunClan?"
"It's not like I didn't try to sleep, it was just too dark," Violetpaw huffed, choosing to ignore the first few hours of the night when he hadn't been trying to sleep at all. He couldn't resist going for a nice walk alone while most of the clan was asleep. It had been so peaceful, and he was paying for it now. "You'll just have to compete," he yawned, "extra hard to make up for me. One of us has to win." @ian
SWIFTCLAN Cradlegrave wasn't entirely sure how he'd wrangled SwiftClan into a forest Clan event, but hey--SwiftClan went wherever the food was free and the consequences were small. He sat a slight distance apart from the other leaders, though not far away enough that it was distracting. His gaze was mostly fixed on the crowd before them, but every so often he cast a stray glance over to the other leaders--mostly to Aspenstar, who he still didn't really know how to...approach. God, if only the fish monster thing never happened. Life would be so easy. He blinked a few times in quick succession when he realised he'd forgotten to ask anyone to be a peacekeeper. "Frenzy will be SwiftClan's first peacekeeper," he said, giving Frenzy a look that he hoped conveyed please just go along with this.
MOONCLAN Wickedshriek couldn't help but puff out his chest when Ravenstar named him as one of the peacekeepers. "Yeah, you'd better work extra hard," he muttered, overhearing some NightClan apprentices talking near him. "MoonClan's gonna win this thing, I'm telling you. You scared? You should be."
contest beby Buckwheatpaw - SwiftClan Bubblegleam - NightClan Pineneedle - SunClan Wickedshriek - MoonClan Gleamingshard - DayClan ...they're all here i just decided not to rp them because the post would be long xD pretend they're socialising
"Hey's not my husband, he's just a fling, but he didn't know I got pregnant so I thought I should maybe let him know!" Pixiepaw fired right back, her fur beginning to bristle. Just who did this old lady think she was!? Pixiepaw was an idiot but even she could sort the fact from fiction in this conversation, which of course only enraged her more, "No wonder you're a DayClan cat. They take anybody in that Clan, even super annoying spinsters who don't have anything better to do than spread around lies and ruffle fur! I bet you're a... ummm... well, you're definitely one of their lower classes, that's for sure, and I don't see that changing anytime soon." fox
SUNCLAN
Valleyrose let out a little mrrow of laughter, not at Moonpaw's comment but his innocence. She knew of course that is was very common to do training in pairs across all of the Clans and most certainly not a NightClan-specific custom. To be honest, she was sort of fishing for information about their poisonous herbs, but she knew now that the odds of this apprentice knowing anything about them were slim to none. He was very young. She's just continue to enjoy the conversation open and honestly.
"SunClan also does training in pairs, but we have a bit of a unique spin on it, too. Apprentices in SunClan choose their own mentors and can change them once every moon if they wish. Mentors can sometimes have two or three or four apprentices at once if they are chosen by multiple cats. It's sort of chaotic sometimes but it teaches our young to make wise decisions while also giving them a chance to fix things if they picked a mentor that didn't serve them well. If you could pick your own mentor, who would it be?" achromatic

NIGHTCLAN
Oh. Moonpaw blinked at the new bit of information he received. So it wasn't so unique...huh, what else did NightClan do differently? He wasn't really sure; he didn't know enough about any of the other clans to truly understand what made each of them stand apart. Still, SunClan seemed interesting. He couldn't imagine being given that kind of decision at all; it wasn't as if he had ever been given much decision-making in his life. He didn't choose to join a clan either; his father had left him there saying it'd be safer if he stayed and then disappeared without a second word.
"I don't know," he replied shyly, feeling his face flush as he started really thinking on that question, "well...maybe Phantomfox would be cool! He starts fight clubs so maybe he'd teach me how to take down a fox! Or Aspenstar! It must be pretty cool to have a leader as a mentor...but to be honest, Larkspur's really nice. She's teaching us a lot of cool moves even if my training partner's really annoying."
