Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
“So, there’s life left in the toy soldier, yet,” she remarked with a little contemplative simper. In some ways Elizabeth could relate: the high roller lifestyle was invigorating, and it could blind the memory to a past that one would rather forget. It was certainly better than wallowing away somewhere, broken.
Her smile became devilish when the topic turned back to her. “You’d be surprised how many cats want a little more danger in their lives, even around these parts.” She chuckled as she contemplated it. “It’s like I told you on that red wall when we first met. A reputation goes a long way.” Even confrontations from the high-strung and the mouse-brained had trickled and ceased. “How about you? Any luck in your love life?”

He snorted. "I'm not dead yet," he sniped back, ears flicking in amusement. He had his fair share of luck surviving this far, that was for sure. It wasn't just leaving the loch, it was everything in between. The city was a good place to lose yourself in, but there were still things he was wary of.
A chuckle left his mouth. "I'm sure that's only in the city," he pointed out, "can you imagine anyone from those clans wanting to marry a murderer? I think they'd rather die." Of course, he wasn't going to admit that this was how he assumed Doefreckle would think of him. He wasn't so sure whether the other cat would accept all of this, if he knew. He chuckled at how Elizabeth had immediately pinpointed what he was thinking about.
"Well, maybe here or there," he shrugged, "a couple of flings around I suppose but...maybe? I don't really know if he's interested in me but...we've been on a few dates I guess, if that counts?"
“Well, if they’d rather die, why not marry a murder and have some fun in the process?” she sniped back, her devious mood leading her to jest more than usual. Still, she wondered what he was chuckling to himself about – and wondered even more who this mystery dream-boy was. “Oh?” her brow arched. “So, you didn’t need me to play match-maker for you after all? Who is this hunk? Does he live in or outside the league?” A stray thought made her consider what he’d think about what she’d done with his sister the other night – but that was a surprise for another day.

He rolled his eyes at her joke. "Sure, I'll propose that next time. Hey you, you'd rather die than talk to me? Well let's make that a reality!" he spoke dramatically, before chuckling, feeling almost embarrassed to talk about his own love interests. He had yet to even tell Rhiannon about this, knowing she was uninterested in his flings.
"He's from the clans actually, don't judge," he eyed her, knowing she'd probably say something about that, "but...he's...well, his name's Doefreckle and he's cute. Tells a lot of jokes, has a big personality, and he's a good listener. I think he likes romantic gestures but...to be honest, sometimes it's kind of confusing too. He acts like he likes the fact that I'm trying to win him over and then tells me he's not interested in a relationship. Gods, was that what I was like back then?"
He had been his own playboy self for many years, it was strange to have the roles reversed.
Elizabeth predictably made a face when Hywel mentioned his paramour’ residence, but she promptly reeled it back in, trying her best to not allow her own personal judgments to have a say in this story.
“Hmm? Hywel, I think you’re blushing,” she joked as he finished. Her dark ambience often made her teases sound more like barbed mockery, but Hywel likely had enough taste of her manner to know she meant no harm by it. She took a beat or two to laugh at his expense, and then she grew quiet again, as she considered his case. And then she leaned forward, a little smile on her face, as she offered her two cents: “The good ones are always flustering. They spin your head a million different ways, till you don’t know what’s coming next. This one sounds positively delicious.” A little pink tongue made a cameo, running at the edge of her lips.
“So, what’s your plan? How’re you going to win your man?”

He chuckled. "Sounds like you have experience with it," he replied wryly, amusement shining in his features, "girl tell me about it. I feel out of practice when it comes to a cat I actually want more than a one night stand with." He gave her shoulder a bump, his whiskers twitching with a stifled laugh.
Hywel had to think about it. "To be honest, I'd woo him over with sweet nothings and all but...I'm not really sure what his type is, or what kind of wooing he really wants, you know?"
“I have experience with a lot, dear,” Elizabeth assured, the lines of her features as salacious as ever. “And I know the worthwhile ones are rarer than gemstones. They’re really worth putting in that extra effort, if it comes to that.” Her tail hovered behind her, plush as a cloud, as she considered his predicament. “But the more fretful you are about it, the less enjoyable it’ll be. As cheesy as it sounds – you just have to be your typical, gorgeous self. Focus on the gestures that express your affection. It’s one thing to say you're head over heels for him, it’s another thing to show it.” Elizabeth didn’t have much experience in long-term relationships, truthfully, so it was hard for her to give him any legitimate advice. She certainly wasn't the ideal relationship's coach. But she did know how to ensnare someone’s attention, and it sounded like that's what Hywel wanted to do.

He listened in rapt attention, eyes widening at the advice, mentally taking note of everything she said. Gestures? He felt like he did a pretty decent job, but then again, if he hadn't noticed...well, that could be a thing. Then again, that wasn't the real problem, was it? They had gone on plenty of dates now, and still, there was a step missing, something that prevented them from bridging that gap.
Hywel sighed. "I guess we've been on a couple of dates, don't get me wrong, but...I'm just worried that we want different things," he admitted, "sure, catching his attention is one thing but...how do I convince him to actually give a relationship a try? One night stands are fine and all but..." He hesitated. "I guess part of me just wants something more."
