Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
This was the first bit of time that Winterpaw had taken off in the last few days. Of course, Lilyripple didn't have the time to constantly be training the young cat, but her curiosity and quest for knowledge meant that there were few times that she wasn't doing anything productive. She had spent the last few nights doing some research on clan history. After a while, though, late nights could start to wear on a cat's performance, and Winterpaw had been told that she needed time off.
What was she going to do with it, though? How was she going to not work?
She jumped slightly, before her body turned to focus on the tom. She looked slightly uncomfortable, but she offered a shrug. "I mean, when I'm with Ma and the kits? But otherwise, what's the point?"
"What good would that be?" the small white cat asked,her discomfort reaching her eyes. She let out a faint laugh as she shifted her weight. "Besides, what kind of fun do you think I should have?"
A boyish smile slipped across his lips and pulled his cheeks. ”A little fun with me, maybe.” The black furred tom seemed to give the total vibe of “bad cat”.
Winterpaw blushed slightly, although she wasn't exactly sure why. She was so straight edge that this was hard for her to even fathom. "What kind of fun with you?" she meowed, trying to sound as not-slightly-panicked as possible. "Like.... mossball? We are a little old for that, right?"
She flinched slightly upon the touch. You're being crazy, she thought to herself. What would Springpaw do? This wasn't really a question that was probably good for her to be asking; in most cases, it was important to do the exact opposite of what her sister would do. "Oh, okay," she meowed, trying to put a smile on her face. "Let's do that. Where do you want to?"
She shrugged a little, before trying to think. "I've always wanted to see the place where the territory stops and the rest of the world begins." It was a strange thought, to go to the end of the world of the group. But, she was always curious.
She nodded slowly, still unsure of what she was doing. She didn't even know him, so why was she leaving the safety of community to go galavanting with a tom that she barely knew the name of? This was not standard operating procedure for the cat. "After you," she meowed to mostly to herself as he took off. "What's a warrior like you want to do with a little apprentice like me?" she asked after a quick second.
Out of any response that he could have had, Winterpaw wasn't sure that this one made her any more confident in the decision making that she was doing. Act more like Springpaw, she told herself, before forcing a smile on her face. "And what was that?" she asked as she followed, sounding surprisingly natural.
The warrior then slipped out of the exit and glanced back at the she-cat. “You’re nervous. Unwilling to try new things because they scare you, you like... order. Yes?”
Winterpaw's eyes narrowed intensely at the idea that he said she was nervous. Who was he to decide that? Not just that, but to tell her she was unwilling? She didn't like it. Her nose twitched slightly in indignation. "If order wasn't important, why would we have Devonei?"
“I didn’t say it wasn’t important, little one.” He chuckled as he walked. Ravenclaw couldn’t help but think about how naive she seemed to the rest of the world around her.
"But you sound like you're looking down upon it," she insisted, her tail twitching. He was probably a dedicate of Tiveronah, she decided. Of course he wouldn't understand why order was the best. Springpaw, her sister, didn't either.
