Bravepaw had been following along behind his siblings, but what he hadn't expected was to literally stumble into Ferventprayer somewhere along the way, managing to end up in a pile comprised of himself, her, and Tenebrousrequiem. racerJetclaw
Balancedscale was panicking about finding Soaringpaw. His father had told him he had to, despite the fact that's not what he WANTED, and he couldn't just not obey his father. So he'd been following as quietly as he could behind Perfectstorm, and when his brother snatched Blindfaith, he took off at an angle, circling around and then launching himself at Soaringpaw while her back was turned, using the surprise to shove his nose against hers before she could realize what was happening. He was average at best in terms of strength, so he really only had the one change at this. Jadie
Balancedscale had hardly even touched Soaringpaw's nosed, before suddenly finding himself flattened on his back with a mass of black fur hovering over him. Darkpaw loomed over the tom, his lip curled up in a wordless snarl the white tips of his fangs glinting in the sunlight along with the white constellation markings splattering across his face. Darkpaw's paws were firmly planted on the tom's chest, with piercing blue eyes staring down into his.
At first Balancedscale would feel his skin begin to crawl, growing more intense by the moment as the crawling turned into itching, which turned into burning, which grew into and inferno the more intense Darkpaw's thoughts became. The angrier he became, the worse the pain became for Blancedscale. It was almost like Darkpaw was in a trance, not even recognizing that the tom below him was writhing and screaming, begging for the pain Darkpaw was causing to stop.
The only thing on his mind: keeping Blanacedscale away from his sister.

Balancedscale didn't really identify that Darkpaw was the source of his pain. Or if he did, he assumed it was actual, physical pain, from the tom trying to kill him. At this point, the tom was just screaming bloody murder, no thoughts inside his head until it became to much and the tom quite literally crumpled, brain shutting down into unconsciousness from the sheer amount of pain he was in. Unfortunately for Soaringpaw, however, the tom had indeed touched her nose, no matter how slightly. racerJadie
Valleyrose felt torn between being there for her sister and being there for her mother. On one paw leaving Tinymuitny alone was clearly a terrible idea, on the other she had that twin thing with Magnoliablush, it broke her heart more than most to see her so upset. She'd have to do her best to help them both.
Reaching behind her ear, she pulled off a single marigold petal and sat it on the ground next to her sister. In seconds roots dug into the earth and a single flower bloomed right before their very eyes. She didn't show her element in front of strangers, mostly because she knew how easy it would be to abuse, but she didn't have much to loose now that Bloodystar had found out about it. She plucked the flower from the ground and nudged it toward Snakebounce.
"Chew that up and put it against her cut. It'll sting a bit but it'll stop the bleeding and help her heal," She then turned to Magnoliablush and gave her a stern, but loving look, "And you need to stop crying, if Paintedcanyon was smart he would have run off quite some time ago."
With that she, for the second time, took off after Tinymutiny. racerNova
Just as Soaringpaw was picking up Blindfaith's trail, she felt the pressure of another cat against her side, one that she immediately recognized was not Darkpaw. Letting out a startled yelp she turned around to claw whoever it was only to feel his cold, wet nose against hers.
She froze. It took her a few minutes to process what he just happened but, by the time she lifted her paw to absolutely shred her offender, he fell to the ground screaming and she immediately knew why.
"Darkpaw! Thanks, but it's OK, stop!" She said even as she put her paw to Balancedscale's throat. She'd been on the receiving end of Darkpaw's element when he was first learning how to use it and honestly didn't even want her worst enemy to feel that level of pain, although she'd never told her brother that, "I've got him!" racerHoneystorm

Perfectstorm tried to tell himself that this was all according to Bloodystar's, no, the Sun God's plan. That meant that this was exactly how it should be. Blindfaith was met to be his mate, they were made for each other, that was what he had been told and he wanted to believe that with all of his heart. But something about this felt horribly wrong. She was so sweet, small, delicate and helpless. She didn't have a say in this and, while she was being friendly toward him, a part of him felt like he had done something worst than betray her. He'd made her fit into a mold that he wasn't sure that she wanted to be in or even belonged.
A tear escaped from his eye, just one, but it bee-lined it to her paw before he had a chance to wipe it away himself.
"Was that rain?" He immediately tried to cover for himself, after all, toms were strong, they didn't cry. In seconds he had fortified himself against his moral compass and was back to normal and forced a smile that his soon-to-be mate couldn't see, "Uh... anyway... I know you don't know me very well, but I promise to always protect you and make sure you're safe. We're meant to be together after all." Faith

Okay, Duskfable got lost. All the grass and scents mixed together in his vision. It was like walking in a never ending forest, every tree looking the same and having no clue if you're even walking forward. It was almost too his luck as he missed pretty much everything that had happened. And as the grass split and he could actually make out his cousin, he sprang to her side. Though it was less by her side and more shielding her from Paintedcanyon. No wonder she was crying, this guy clearly did something. He was about to say something when a familiar smell caught his attention and his head whipped around to see the blood oozing from Magnoliablush's chest. It wasn't a lot, but it looked like a torrent in his smudged eyes. "What happened? What did you do to her?!" He spun back to Paintedcanyon, voice filled with accusation. racerNova
Anemoneshade's breath caught in her throat as a familiar voice called out to her. She only took a moment to look over her shoulder, barely catching the white pelt of Naturalgift gaining on her. She wanted to know what color he picked, but she couldn't keep her balance to keep looking back. When she felt he got a little too close, she suddenly darted to the side. "We never got to do my date idea. Tag! So try and catch me, Naturalgift." She yelled out. She didn't want it to be too easy, but her lilting voice hopefully incited him to chase after her even more. "I take it you're going after mom...?" Snakebounce asked softly as she pulled the flower closer to him. "I'll... I'll be there to try and help soon... just be careful..." The words felt odd coming out of his mouth. He never thought that he would say something like that about his mother... maybe his grandmother, but not his mother. The tom had carefully started chewing the flower to a pulp, as Valleyrose had instructed before he carefully started smearing it along the small cut on his sister's neck.
Paintedcanyon had been too taken aback by Magnoliablush's confession to notice Valleyrose's power. He flushed warmly under his pelt. So that's why she had been so flustered before, right before the race began. The tomcat hadn't even realized it. But his heart quickly ached for the she-cat before him. The dark ginger tom crouched down next to her, gently nosing her cheek as he offered her a warm smile. "Well... I-" Before he could even get the words out Duskfable and jumped between them. Paintedcanyon quickly jumped up, his ears pinned flat against his head as the tom's accusation stung him. "If you're insinuating that I would ever hurt her, you couldn't be more wrong." The tom snapped softly. "I would never even dream of it."
"Relax, Duskfable.." Snakebounce said as he wiped the rest of the pulp off his paws. "It wasn't Paintedcanyon. No need to get your tail in a twist.." He explained. The tom wasn't sure he wanted to spill much about what happened, but he felt terrible lying to his cousin. "It was just an accident. That's all." Jadieracerstrawberrycupid
The High Priest would never admit that blow his heart had taken when the blue-furred tom had left SunClan. As with most inconvenient things he denied it and buried it, doing everything he could to move on and distracted himself so he could sleep at night. It was getting a lot easier to do the longer he served as the Sun God's mission, but, being face to face with one of his greatest personal demons, he found for once nothing to say.
Did he love Nikkohydrangea? Obviously yes, but he denied that it was more than just friendship. The greatest way to honor the Sun God was to have kits and being with another tom made that impossible. And yet, hearing Nikkohydrangea be honest with him stirred his heart in ways that Satlinlights and Jetfire - and certainly Anemoneshade - never did. He was right, though. Not even when Satinlights died had Bloodystar cry for her. Yet here he was, fighting back tears because it was technically his fault that that Nikkohydrangea had only been maimed.
"Just stop it already!" He finally called out, voice hoarse even though he hadn't been screaming. Bloodystar wasn't in a place to answer those questions, it was too hard and he had too much to lose. Being with Nikkohydrangea broke too many of his personal codes, even if he wanted to be with him he couldn't be, and that was a fact, "Just... just let me down and go back to your stupid mountain! I don't need you anymore!"
They were lies, but Bloodystar had plenty of time to convince himself otherwise once he was alone and freed of the vines. Faith

Darkpaw stood there for several moments, until Soaringpaw was at his side her claws placed upon his neck. Even after she reassured him that she had Blanacedscale he maintained his eye contact, until her touch snapped his eyes upwards. Tenebrousrequiem had purred when he caught Ferventprayer's scent. Turning to her, about to touch noses and secure her as his mate.
Then, something else crashed into them sending them into a pile.
Immediately he growled, the sound low and threatening. "If you want to keep your head, leave now." He warned rising to his paws and swinging his head towards the other cat. Then his eyes narrowed. "You!" He hissed pelt bushing out. "I thought I told you to stay away!"
"Go." Soaringpaw urged Darkpaw, her claws digging into slightly to Balancedscale's throat. She glanced down at her blue paint mixed in with his on his nose and it honestly made her want to throw up. He was so not her type it was almost criminal and, if Bloodystar found out about this, her fate was sealed, "I'm going to wipe that paint off your nose and this never happened," She snarled, allowing her claws to draw blood, "Got it?"
But she wasn't so sure that threatening Balancedscale would get her anywhere at all... he was right in Bloodystar's pocket. A darker part of her thought that killing him would solve all of her problems, but she immediately chastised herself for even entertaining the thought. racerHoneystorm
Bleedingheart had been on several dates over the days of the festival, they all had been nice though there were a few cats that she would not like to see romantically again. Though she did desire to see where a few of them would go, granted she probably should tell the ones she wanted to see again that she was still dating around. But now was not the time to figure that out. She let out a sigh as Bloodystar was fling up into the air by something. That was one tom she had no desire to be tied too. However when she caught the dark frame of Crownedstag on the horizon, she slowed down slightly so if he wanted her could catch up with her. racer
Brightdawn had quite the lead on the other toms when she heard the roar of the crowd that could only mean that the toms had been released. Her ears flicked backwards as she picked up her face. She had seen how fast Tawnyowl could run and she didn't want to make this to easy of a challenged for him. Besides if she waited she risked running into the other toms. Silverdragon tried not to let his excitement get the better of him. He had to concentrate. Many of his clanmates were participating in this event as well, and Alios' scent was mixed in with the others. If he didn't concentrate, then he wouldn't be able to find her. Focus. The long furred tom narrowed in on Alios' scent, following it past the red river, and back towards the camp. The tom flicked his ears as he looked over at the tunnel. Why would she come back here? Was this another part of one of her games? A smile pricked at the corner of his mouth as he continued to follow her scent. racer

Paintedcanyon glanced back over at Magnoliablush, and snaked around Duskfable towards her other side. The tom settled back down next to her and took a deep breath. "I'm sorry... what was it I was saying..." He muttered, stroking his chin with his paw as he furrowed his brow. His eyes lit up the moment he remembered, and he cast the warm gaze towards the she-cat. "I'm sorry that this didn't turn out the way you had planned... but... maybe we can salvage it. Ferventprayer leaned in, ready to finally touch noses with Tenebrousrequiem and seal their fate. Her eyes slowly closing, and then his warmth was gone. She squeaked as she was swept off her feet and away from her crush landing in a twisted pile of limbs far to disoriented to really understand what had just happened. It took Bravepaw far, far too long to realize what was going on, but the moment he did, the tom practically THREW himself away from the she-cat, frantically pawing at his nose to ensure she hadn't touched his. Luckily, his nose was clean, he hadn't even put paint on it, let alone gotten Ferventprayer's mixed in. Thank the Sun God. "Nopenotsupposedtobehere. I'mjustgonnaleaveandgofindmysiblings..." The tom's voice made it far too clear he had not intended to see either of them, and he cast an apologetic look at Tenebrousrequiem as he moved himself away from the pair, hoping that the tom would realize it was an honest mistake and not try to murder him. racerJetclaw
Balancedscale was faring far less well than the other tom in this post... unconscious, being shaken around by Soaringpaw, his last memory to be touching their noses together, to the she-cat's dismay when she would find out he was still able to tell Bloodystar... Until then, he wasn't much a worry, and didn't even respond to the apprentice's threats, unable to hear them. Jadie
Tenebrousrequiem growled glaring darkly after Bravepaw, but relented when the apprentice made himself scarce, and he saw not a speck of the paint Ferventprayer had used on his nose.
He turned back to her and let out a breath of relief. "Best do this before someone else gets any ideas." He said going over to her and touching his nose to hers, purring as their paints mixed together.
The relief that let up off his shoulders when he stepped back to see his red mixed with her paint. And knowing that they'd finally done it. This ceremony secured them as mates.
From here it was up to them to decide, they'd ruined Bloodystar's plans. The tom would have to accept them, or go against his own rules.

Silverdragon had continued following her scent. Further and further underground until he came to the crystal cavern. His face lit up, a brow raised as he glanced around at the many different reflections of Alios. "It seems I've managed to find you, but lose you again at the same time." The tom said, a soft rumbling laugh escaping his throat as he slowly walked through the caves. racer
Bleedingheart turned around as he called out her name and grinned at him. Then she waved her tail and bounded off, not unlike a rabbit. It would be a rather slow chase as she was really just jumping through the grass than truly running. But if anyone was going to be her mate they would have to work for it. Plus she was not against a deeper relationship with Crownedstag, it was a bonus he liked her kits. Though to be fair she wouldn’t settle for anyone who didn’t care for the bunch. racer

Tawnyowl's grin widened as he noticed her pick up speed. Although, if she hadn't accepted his challenge, that would have worried him a bit. Well, it still did since he was having a hard enough time keeping up with her before. His teeth clenched together as he pushed his muscles to work harder and his legs to move faster. Last time they raced, he'd ended up tripping and he couldn't afford to do that again. Not now. He managed to clear the distance between them to the point that she wasn't just a silhouette in the distance anymore. He could see her fur raise with every step and the playful glint in her eyes any time she glanced back. She was close, but not close enough. "Were you going easy on me before!?" he half-yelled, half-panted. Sure, he was having a good time, but at this point he thought he might die before he could reach her. racer Naturalgift grinned playfully at her as she darted off, her challenge reassuring him that this wasn't one-sided after all. Anemoneshade wanted him too. "Make sure to stay away from the ruins this time!" he called after her. He didn't want another earthquake to happen and ruin this game (or date) too. He chased after, feeling light on his feet with the advantage of starting way past the starting line, but she wasn't making it easy. Any worry he might have had about her once injured paw vanished from his mind the instant he realized how good she was at evading him. She really was impressive. "You're a lot better at running than hiding," he teased, right before he pounced at her side, his paws barely missing their mark. strawberrycupid
