Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"But!" she tried to protest. "I'm not the one with those things on me! The water's gonna be cold~!" There was a slight whine in her voice; apparently, the baby had missed her nap today.
"Well then I guess you'd better get in and out quickly then," Violetglass said through gritted teeth. "You too, brat. I would shove you in if I didn't care about getting those...things all over me."
"They have names, you know!" Crystalkit huffed, though she stepped into the water anyway. "This one is Primbus," she said, pointing to a spider on her right flank with her tail, "and this one is Degglan!""
She stepped into the water with a squeak. Yep, just as cold as she thought it was going to be. "Which one's your favorite?" she asked Crystalkit, although she was careful to stay far enough away from her that if god forbid the spiders knew how to swim they couldn't get to her.
“This one, on top of my head!” Crystalkit said, and showed off the top of her head proudly to her friend. Sure enough, there was a spider of moderate size clinging onto the base of her ears for dear life. “Her name is Bongalo, and she wants to be a medicine spider when she grows up! Do you have a favourite? You can't pick Bongalo because I already picked her!!!"
“PLEASE, STOP TALKING,” said Violetglass from the shore.
"Bongalo is a nice one," she agreed, peering at her closely. As long as they weren't near her, and were borderline drowning in the river, the spiders weren't so bad, were they? "Her legs are so furry!" she meowed observantly, before finding herself attached to one that sat on her shoulder. "That one, there! Benny!"
do i bring in aspen to be just asbolutely horrified at the sight of all of this
"Wow, he's my second-favourite!" Crystalkit beamed. As she spoke, Benny fell from her head and into the water, floating away at a surprisingly rapid pace. "NO! BENNY!!!"
Berrykit felt her eyes watering, but she didn't get the chance to cry before a voice came from behind her.
"What in the ever loving hell is going on here?" Upon closer glance, the leader quickly realized that she absolutely did not want to know. Fear passed her gaze as she watched the arachnids in the water. Aspenstar's arachnophobia was significant, and it had been there as long as she remembered. "Please, for the love of StarClan, tell me I am hallucinating and there isn't a stream full of spiders being played with by two kittens."
"You're not hallucinating!" Crystalkit chirped, at the same time Violetglass muttered, "you're not hallucinating."
Violetglass shot Crystalkit a dark glance. "It's more like the water is washing the spiders away. If you think this is bad you should see what they did back at camp."
Aspenstar's stomach reeled at the idea, much like Berrykit's had upon seeing the nine million of them. "Dare I ask?" she meowed nervously, clearly not enjoying Violetglass' assesment of the situation.
Berrykit was quick to answer. "Crystalkit said she saw a tarantula and I wanted to see it and then we got close to its nest and then we disturbed them and didn't even apologize for it so then the spiders got mad and then there were so many and Violetglass made us wash off even though I didn't even have any on me!" So many words, so little pause between them.
