Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"That's a great idea!" Crownglass pricked his ears. "I'm sure that Hystericstar will appreciate us bringing back prey for everyone." Well, perhaps the leader wouldn't notice, but it would make them look good to
If I remember correctly we should be nearby... The tom looked at the surrounding, scanning for a sign of prey and found it - rabbit holes. "Let's look around here, we might be able to find something good for
Crownglass didn't need to be told twice. He slipped forward on quiet paws, circling around the back of the rabbit holes to put them between the two cats. If they were lucky, some prey would emerge soon for them to catch; if they were unluckily, it would come out now and duck back into the hole before they were in a position to catch it.
At the first sign of brown ears and black beady eyes, his body instinctively moved forward to meet the rabbit. Seeing his prey appear above ground, even for a brief moment, sent a wave of excitement through his body. With a quick burst of speed, he shot forward. Just as the rabbit tried to dart retreat back into its hole, Poisonrush latched onto its head and dragged it out. It struggled for a moment before its life was ended with a quick nip the throat.
Crownglass darted a few steps after the prey as well, but when Poisonrush surged past him he relaxed, confident that the Aurulent would catch the rabbit on his own. He would hang back here just in case, but he was quickly proven right when the tom delivered an expert kill.
"Well done," the ebony tom purred as he straightened up, shaking out his forepaws. "That's big enough to feed two apprentices, or maybe three! Do you think we should bring
Poisonrush nodded. "We should bring something else back, for sure! But what else is there?" he asked as he looked around the area. "I think we scared off all the other rabbits. "Are there any other options out there for us to
"If we're lucky, we can snag one of those birds," he mused, listening to the chirps and calls around him, "but then we have to wait for one to land." They were no match for nimble birds on tree branches; they'd never get close enough to strike. "Or, maybe if we head toward the oak, we can find
"A bird sure does sound good right about now," he said as his eyes followed birds that flew through the air and landed on a nearby branch. Maybe next time, he thought. Besides, he was a little tired from the run earlier. If he wanted any chance at catching any sort of bird, he would have to come with fresh legs. "Yeah, we don't have the time for that. Hystericstar might have a mission for us once we get back. Maybe the oak will give us better options for
Crownglass nodded, glad they were in agreement. As tempting as the prey was, they needed to be more realistic. He led the way toward the oak, checking to make sure Poisonrush was carrying his kill but not giving him a chance to take the lead this time. He knew where he was going, so he
The tom followed behind carrying the rabbit. He didn't really realize it before but it had some weight to it and the longer he carried it, the more it became a burden. He wasn't weak by any means or complaining though. He sure hoped that whoever chose the prey off the fresh-kill pile, they appreciate it.
"What did you think of what Hystericstar is doing with
Poisonrush nodded. "I can agree with you on that. Hystericstar is a tough cat to read. You'd think he'd tell us something...but I guess not." The tom stopped close behind Crownglass, noticing the tom paused. "I'm assuming we're near..." he thought aloud. Setting the rabbit aside, he
Crownglass nodded, not trusting himself to speak any further until he knew where the prey was. The birds in the trees were easy to find, boldly singing their calls, but he needed one without reach. He revolved slowly and scanned their environment until there was a sudden blur of motion to his right. Crownglass spun around as a few birds burst through the bushes, flying upward, but low enough now they could reach. He gathered his strength and
"Already on it," Poisonrush said as he rushed past his companion, leaping up into the air after the birds. With a swipe of a unsheathed paw, he managed to snag on and pulled it down with him to the earth. With a swift bite, he ended its life. "How's that?" he asked as he looked back at Crownglass. The bird wasn't particularly big but it has some
Crownglass was tense and ready to leap, but there was no need; Poisonrush took down the prey with ease. He straightened up and beamed at him. "Great catch," he purred. The black tom trotted over to take a closer look and was pleased with it, even if it wasn't a large catch. "That should be enough for
"I agree," Poisonrush said with a nod.Think we should start heading back now, yeah?" Looking at their surrounding area, they weren't too far from camp. He glanced over to Crownglass. "Ubless you want to stay out for a little while longer and catch something else for
Crownglass considered, but in the end, he shook his head. "If we spend too much time looking, the prey will get cold. Let's bring this back now and then
Poisonrush nodded. "Yeah, lets do that," he responded as he got his ready to go pick up the prey they caught earlier. The tom looked up to the sky to see where the sun was only to see that it
Crownglass followed his gaze and frowned at the clouds that were beginning to gather around the sky. "That doesn't seem like a good sign," he murmured. "Well, as long as we get back soon,
