Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Duskslayer listened to the battle as he sat down in the den with Spellmania, Bravepaw, and Glowstar. Nothing felt more wrong to a warrior than being told to stand out of battle to watch over a prisoner. Especially being priest promise he felt he should be doing more. If it wasn't for the fact that Glowstar did reasonably need to be guarded so neither Vixenkismet or Funk E'tan could take her back he would have left. However as the sounds of bloodshed slowly eased into wails and grief he could feel his heart beginning to cave in. Leaving Spellmania with Bravepaw and Glowstar in her care was concerning to say the least, but at the same time she was his first friend. There were few others he would truly trust.
Exiting the den he was quick to grab herbs, but just as he was heading over he spotted Scorchedwhisker on the ground. Looking forward at the battlefield he watched just in time for Oakshade to topple over to the floor. "Okay... Alright," Duskslayer said in acceptance of his current reality. He flinched as he turned his head to see the state Burntphoenix was in. "Burntphoenix, what is your condition?" Duskslayer asked, noticing he was the only one conscious. He carefully rolled Scorchedwhisker over into a recovery position before pacing over to assess Oakshade's condition. Oakshade appeared in a more critical condition so he wouldn't be able to move him. From the shadows, the lithe form of an initiate appeared grabbing some of cobwebs Duskslayer had brought as he pushed them onto the wounds on Scorchedwhisker’s neck and applying pressure to stop them bleeding, the blood seeping trough and staining his white paws crimson “Don’t bother with that one” Alabastor pointed towards Oakshade “He’s as good as dead and no amount of herbs is going to stop it, just do you best to make his final moments peaceful” he didn’t look up from a scorchedwhisker as he worked. He probably shouldn’t have spoken to Duskslayer like that, but he was a trained medicine cat, it was his duty to heal and he wasn’t about to sit idly by “How much herbs do you all have stored away?” He eyes looking up to scan for those most wounded, prioritizing the life threatening injuries for treatment first. It seemed they were going to be trapped here, and with so many injured they were going to need to be careful with supplies.
Burntpheonix settles in next to scorchedwhisker as Duskslayer questioned him “I’ll be fine, tend to the others first” his chest was heaving, blood still seeping through his paws
but before he could protest Allabastor pushed some wet moss toward him and onto his wound. It would both clean it, absorb the blood, and apply pressure“They didn’t hit anything vital but if you don’t stop the bleeding your going to be laying here beside your son soon enough. Hold that on your wound” he snapped
"Honestly? Not much, most of its dried up," Duskslayer said. He was about to immediately protest against Burntphoenix's statement, but the initiate already took care of him before he could. His turquoise eyes moved to Oakshade, making his way over he gently nudged the toms head with his muzzle, the stiff response causing his heart to seize up. Gently he lied beside him, with his head resting over the fallen warrior he whispered a small prayer. His prayers weren't like most SunClan cats, never containing reference to the Sun God or isles, but always spoke of gratitude. Thanking the warrior for his bravery, his heart, along with all the joy and spirit he brought to the clan. Lifting himself back up he returned to his friends side, staring down at Scorchedwhisker before turning to Alabastor. "I don't have the experience yet to estimate an injury, is Scorchedwhisker going to make it? I'll grab anything."
Pollendrones eyes flickered toward Lionpride as he left to find help, her mouth opened to call his name but she stopped herself, as much as she wanted him to stay her mother getting help was priority. Her attention was drawn back to Weed as the she-cat did her best to explain what she had seen in regards to her mothers current state, the more she listened the better her cheeks became as tears co tinued to roll down her face. "Mountain, that big goon!" She was furious, and she was letting it take control as she struggled to her paws. She turned her heavily rounded body toward the exit, pushing past Weed as she slipped out into camp. "Where is he?!" She hissed, assuming her friend had followed her out, but she stopped looking around when her eyes landed on Scorchedwhisker laying eerily still on the ground where she had last seen him fighting with that weird cat. "Scorchedwhisker..." his name was a whisper as it rolled off her tongue, he looked dead, but he couldn't be, he just couldn't. The cream and tortoiseshell queens breath caught in her throat and her sides started to heave, between her mother laying injured and unconscious in the nursery and the sight of a motionless Scorchedwhisker it was clear that Pollendrone was in the begining stages of a stress induced panic attack. "I.. I cant breathe." Her throat tightened around the words and her legs felt weak but she still attempted to move them toward the tom and his father. Novaracer

“Pollendrone…” Weed began, but was quickly cut off as her friend made a hasty exit. “Pollendrone! Get back into the nursery!” The mottled tortoiseshell shouted. She didn’t want to leave Swelteringeclipse alone, but she couldn’t let Pollendrone just leave. It could still be dangerous, and the pregnant queen was no match for Mountain. She looked around at the other queens, and gave a quick nod of thanks to Wistfulsphinx as she made her way towards her injured clanmate and sat with her as Weed hurriedly ran out of the den. “Pollendrone!” She hissed as she came to a stop next to the pregnant queen. But the words died in her throats when she caught sight of Pollendrone’s expression as she looked at Scorchedwhisker. Weed immediately pressed herself against the cream colored tortoiseshell’s side, gently running her nose against her cheek. “It’s okay…” Weed said softly. “It’s alright. He’s being taken care of… you need to think about your kits Pollendrone… please, let’s go back to the nursery…” Weed whispered to her, gently running her tongue over Pollendrone’s ears as she attempted to herd her away.
Scorchedwhisker was slipping in and out of consciousness. Occasionally he would let out a shuddering breath, as if he forgot to breath, making it seem as though the tom was one step closer to the isle. There were more cats around him now. He could hear the voice of one of the initiates… his father was still there, and Duskslayer had made his way over as well. The siamese tom opened his mouth to speak, but all that would come out was soft gurgling groan. He could feel something being pressed against his neck, and he quickly recoiled as pain shot through his body like a bolt of lightning. His claws slid out of their sheaths, weakly clawing at the ground as he tried to get away from the sensation. It only caused him more pain. His ears twitched at the sound of another voice, but he was sure that she was still in the nursery. That stubborn she-cat wouldn’t ave stepped foot into the camp after all this. racerPhantomFaith
Pollendrone recoiled at Weeds touch, she was still having trouble breathing but she made no move to turn and return to the nursery. "No." She shook her head and instead stumbled forward toward the little cluster of cats around Scorchedwhisker and his father. "Scorchedwhisker!" She called out breathlessly as she staggered to his side, she didnt care if she made the others angry for intervening, she made sure to stay out of their way while getting as close to him as she could. "I havent even made you laugh yet." She whispered beside him, her breathes coming in little gasps. "Please save him." She pleaded, looking to Alabaster. She wasnt sure when she had grown so fond of the grumpy tom, she didnt want to lose him, it was wrong to feel that way, she had a mate whom she loved and was due to have her kits any day but she couldn't shake the strong feeling in her chest as she lay beside Scorchedwhisker. All she could think of in this moment was the possibility of losing her mother and her friend, neither of which she thought she would be able to handle. The thought had her falling back into a panicked state, and her breathing which had still been uneven was getting faster, her head was getting fuzzy but she didnt move. Novaracer

Weed's heart broke for her friend. The mottled tortoiseshell could do nothing for her friend. She couldn't physically force her to go back to the nursery for fear that she may accidentally hurt her and her unborn kits. The initiate looked around briefly for Lionpride as she wondered where the tom had gone. He said he was looking for Mountainsound, but hadn't returned yet. Weed placed herself next to Pollendrone, sitting by her side and wrapping her tail around the pregnant queen as she reached out to Scorchedwhisker.
So it was her. And Pollendrone had called him stubborn. Great... he had made her upset again, hadn't he? Why had she even come out of the nursery in the first place? Scorchedwhisker probably looked a lot scary now than he normally did with his scowling features. If the situation was different, the cream-colored tom was sure that Pollendrone would have teased him about it all. His ears twitched weakly, not having the energy to pin themselves to his head. He didn't want her to see him like this. Scorchedwhisker forced open his uninjured eye, the blue iris still glazed over as he struggled to stay conscious. He tried to move his head so that he could look at her, but the movement only pained him. He opened his mouth to try and say something to her. Go back to your mate, Get into the nursery and wait there, I'll be fine. But the words wouldn't come out, and he quickly closed his mouth before he started coughing again. Instead, Scorchedwhisker reached out with his paw, very slowly and very shakily, gently poking her nose. He hoped that she'd understand. He was far too stubborn to die Phantom

Alabastor worked on the young tom, but it seemed like no matter how much pressure he applied the wound just wouldn't stop bleeding. He was loosing to much blood, and now here was this pregnant queen that he assumed was his mate by the way she was looking at him. He swallowed hard looking up at Duskslayer after she began begging him to save the cat's life... "I can save him..." he paused applying more cobwebs to the wound and doing his best to keep him still. He swallowed hard, but even though he didn't even really know this cat, the desperate pleas of the pregnant queen were pulling on his heart strings. No this was stupid, was he really going to risk his own life for this stranger for a clan that wanted him dead? He tied to convince himself to do just do the best he could with herbs and let whatever god he believed in to decide his fate... But in his heart, he knew that he couldn't just walk away.
He muttered a few curse words under his breathe as he asked Duskslayer a question "How confident are you in binding wounds?" they didn't have a lot of time, and every moment that ticked by brought Scorchedwhisker closer to death "Quickly now, if you don't want her mate die" FaithPhantomNova
Lionpride: Lionpride emerged from the high priest's den, in his search for someone to take a look at Swelteringeclipse when he spotted Pollendrone out of the nursery. His heart began to race, as he ran down to sloop towards them, but as he got closer it was the looking on Pollendrone's face that stopped him in his tracks... He had seen that look before.. He had that look before. It was the same look he had worn when Aconite had been dying, the look of anguish as the one you loved laid dying before your eyes. His paws came to a stop, ears falling back recognizing the look of love she wore. She had never looked at him that way... Not when he took wounds to protect her... Not on their first date... Not even when she told him that she was pregnant. His heart sank, lower and lower. He thought it was just him, but not...even the initate could see it. His tail drooped, unable to take it any longer he turned back towards the warriors den calling Mountainsounds name...
"I'm good under pressure," Duskslayer said, not giving the tom a yes or a no because the answer was he never bound a wound before. But he did learn how to ghost hunt on instinct alone and just learned how to tie a cats legs together with vines. If he could learn all of that in the moment and already knew how to tie things then it could be too different.

Alabastor sighed, looking down at the cat at his paws "You'll have to do...at the very least this will buy you some time to find another healer" he didn't really explain what he meant as his lowered his head and pressed his nose to Scorchedwhisker's forhead. He wasn't exactly sure if this would work, last time had been a complete accident even though he had been practicing with more minor wounds since then tyring to get a grasp on his elemental powers. His breathing slowed matching the injured tom's as he focused on the neck wounds. He focused in on the wound, imagining what it would look like on himself. What it would feel like, where it would be. He didn't want to take on the whole wound, but that was what made it tricky. Even the slightest loss in concentration could leave him just as bad off as the cat he was trying to save.
It probably wasn't noticeable at first, but a thin line of red began to appear on Alabastor's throat, stretching from one side to the other though no one was touching him. It began to deepen, more blood beginning to fall from his own throat onto Scorchedwhisker's paws. Suddenly Alabastor pushed himself away, paws reaching for his own throat.
Duskslayer's turquoise gaze was wider than the sun as he watched the miracle take place. Alabaster had a healing element, he had never seen one before, in fact he had always felt dubious about whether elements should be contained or not. However seeing the miracle take place he couldn't help, but feel taken aback by it. However just as the healing process had completed and the wound vanished from Scorchedwhisker onto Alabastor there was almost a snap in time, a recoil. In a matter of seconds the wound was transferred right back onto Scorchedwhisker, reverting all of Alabastor's work, nothing had been saved.
"Thank-you for trying," Duskslayer said, but didn't waste time as he took out the cobwebs, wrapping them around the opposite side, prepared to bandage it tightly around his entire neck like a scarf, but he looked to Alabastor, "I can tell you have more practice with injuries, you should apply the herbs. Take command, a lot of lives are at stake, I won't take offense," He promised him. After all his studies thus far focused on sickness, not injuries.
Duskslayer didn't know it, but he was an elemental too, one with nullification, capable of shutting down anyone's element. There was no "tell" to his element, no sign that this force of negativity that wore down on elementals came from him unless everyone were to leave the room with only him in it. But with so many cats it would be impossible to know that he unknowingly stopped the miracle from occurring. The only tell was a repressing force that made it harder to use an element at all let alone make it have any impact at all.
Pollendrone felt a small smile pull at her lips when scorchedwhisker touched her nose with his paw, there was little happiness in the action though as her tears kept falling, eyes glistening with fear. It reassured her though even if o ly slightly that he wasnt going to give up, that he was fighting to stay alive. Her gaze moved back to Alobastor and widened as he began to take on the wounds that had been slowly draining her friends life, he was an elemental. As she watched on in shock she began to worry for the healers life but just as it was happening it stopped. "What happened?" She asked, looking from one cat to another.

For a moment, Scorchedwhisker felt a small amount of relief as Alabastor took on his wound. His body started to relax, his muscles no longer tense from the pain that scorched through his body like a hot flame. His breathing had started to even out again as his throat slowly healed. But then as quick as it came it stopped. The pain that had dissipated was thrust back onto him with such force it left the surly tom gasping for breath, coughing and sputtering as he thrashed about only aggravating his wound more and undoing some of the cobweb wrappings that Duskslayer and Alabastor had applied to him.. Weed had quickly pulled Pollendrone back, latching onto the queen's scruff, as she dragged her away as gently as she could while being forceful in the action. She wasn't about to let her friend get smacked by Scorchedwhisker, even if it would have been an accident. When the tom had finally settled down, his body becoming used to the pain, Weed released Pollendrone.
"It didn't work..." Weed said softly. The mottled tortoiseshell stayed close by to Pollendrone, hanging her head low. "Pollendrone... I know you want to stay. But there's nothing here we can do. We should let them work on him, I'm sure they'll come let us know how he's doing. Staying here is no good for you, or for your kits. Let's go before Lionpride finds out you've left." PhantomFaithracer
Pollendrone didnt have time to react before Weed pulled her away from Scorchedwhisker, his legs thrashing out as the pain overtook him again. She stared down at the tom, her friends words barely registering but she nodded. "Please, do whatever you can to save him." She whispered to Alobastor and Duskslayer before turning away from the gruesome sight of her friend lying on the ground. "L-lets go, I should see if my mom is awake." She let her shoulder press against Weeds for support as her legs shook beneath her, looking back only once as they walked away. As she approached the nursery once more, her eyes void of any light she looked around hoping her mate would be back, she wanted nothing more than to hide in his fur and wake up from this nightmare.
Swelteringeclipse had woken up to find her duaghter was gone, she could still feel the pain running through her but the numbness in her lower half worried her the most. "Did they manage to drive the attackers away?" She asked, not knowing who exactly was near her, but still sure that someone was left in the den.
