As the sun set shadows painted silk black strokes over the valley as though it were its canvas. The night sky was clear, heavenly silent as most cats entered their own dens to fall asleep. Something woke everyone at once, it wasn’t a noise, but a feeling, the light pitter patter of their hearts. All at once everything and nothing had changed as the yellow moon took its place in the sky. The feeling alone wasn’t dread, but that something was afoot, the feeling you get when you’re watched, a paranoid kind of feeling.
As more cats exited their dens it became clear as the nights sky what had changed. Them. Every warrior and apprentice had been reverted back into a kitten, but perhaps the worse change was their mood. They retained all their memories, but their kit brains made them just a little bit more irritable, especially when they were up past their bed time.
"Cwam... Clam... Quam... CAH-LAMB meeting... Close enough, Ca-lamb meeting," Glowstar said while she made her way up to the pointed stones with a bit more effort. Or maybe more accurately it was Glowkit. She was turned into a kitten, same as everyone else, the grass green strengths were apparent, but so were some scars on the bridge of her nose that definitely had faded and dull beyond anyone noticing by the time she was an adult.
"Uh! Who made her leader," Autumngossamer scoffed before her adult mind caught up to her and she groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose, "I was such a brat back then," She said as if she wasn't still a brat in present day.
Fairytalebride was staring anxiously at everyone, he was back to being the ugly duckling kit he'd been before. He was chewing at his claw only he was pretty sure he ran out of claw to chew on, they were nubs now. This was... Unexpected.

The one time he stayed over and this was the result. Cardinalsin looked shockingly similar to his older self, some of his rosettes hadn't come in but that was about it. Though when he first crawled out, he had a bandana wrapped around his neck that was now far too big. Finally pulling himself free from it, he walked over to Glowstar. "This is why we stopped doing any of this religion stuff in Primal Instinct."
"You have GOT to be kidding me." Surfkit said with a huff. He had finally made it into apprenticeship only for some curse or whatever to revert him back to a kit. It was unbearably frustrating. Especially as he fell over and flailed around like a kid throwing a tantrum.
"Fairytale, here." Goldenphantom's voice was much higher, most of her height gone and replaced with straight floof. She was still a mom though, placing a stick in front of Fairytalebride. "Chew on this to save your claws please." It was like she barely changed. Though she was covered in far more injuries than before. Claw marks below one of her eyes, and chunks of fur ripped out that the skin underneath was tender from healing.
Somewhere Princecharming was freaking out about her play.
Mysteryleaf let out a huff, the fluffy black she cat, gone from her comfortably large size. To now being back to being all too small in her opinion. "This is the worst!" She grumbled. "I was almost killed at this age, and I didn't really want to go back."
Burningsummer glanced at all the cats, unconsciously lifting her back leg to start scratching at her ear. A bad habit that had to be trained out of her by the queens of the clan. Her adult mind realized what she was doing and quickly put it back down. "Do we know what caused this?" She asked. Then realized her voice was too quiet, so she let out a sigh and then drew in a deep breath and forcing herself to speak more audibly. "Do we know what caused this?" She called to Glowstar.
"MOM! MOM LOOK! I've grown so much in one night!" Smashpaw could tell that something was not quite right but, from her perspective, she had grown to be the same size as everybody else not the other way around, "HEY MOM! I'm big as you now, look!"
Heatherpaw could tell that her clanmates' voices were higher pitched, but her sightless lilac eyes did her no favors. That being said, the grey-and-black she-cat was pretty smart and had already begun to piece it together, "Did everyone shrink into kits...?" She muttered, her words easily overshadowed by Smashpaw's yowling.
"That's a good question, Auttie! How exactly does asent.. sent.. ascention work in DayClan? Is it a vote or something?" Yuccablossom was absolutely adorable, a fluffy little ginger-and-black ball of joy, with big hazel eyes and tail sticking straight in the air. Absolutely a ball of sunshine. It was almost sickening.
Divinefavor was much happier as a kit. Back then she thought she knew how the world worked and who her family was. A kit once more, she felt some of the pressure of adulthood fall off her shoulders in waves. She was not known for smiling but a big one rested on her face right now as she watched the rest of the Clan scramble. This wasn't so bad.
Moltenmidnight save at the base of the pointed stones and flicked his ears back as the cat - err, kit - next to him who was going on and on about something totally unrelated to the meeting, "Quiet down, we need to pay attention!"
Vixenkismet was quite the adorable kitten. Fluffed up, a bounce to her step and not quite innocent smile on her features. Altogether, she didn't look much different at all, though her features were softer and seemed to appear less malicious, and more impish. She skipped over to Cardinalsin, humming slightly. "Never a dull time in DayClan." The ex-Priestess mused.
Another she-kit stumbled forward out of the shadows, blood dripping from more than a pawful of injuries on her body, some of which looked like they might even be infected. Patches of fur were missing, and worse yet, the small she-kit's left eye was closed, caked over with a scab up to her brow and down to her jawline. The League Proxy had faced injury before. But this was different. Her frame was thin and malnourished, face gaunt, the one haint blue eye she had open blank and emotionless, pupil dialated. Senescence, Wanderingwight, Naveen... whatever someone wanted to call her, looked far more a corpse than truly living. The patterning was the same, dark russet fur with lacy black lines and a white chest, the vast majority of her scars gone, but instead her body was covered with weeping gashes and bitemarks of a cat just out of a fight, smaller than the vast majority of even these other cats reduced to kit sizes. The pain in her left eye resurfaced memory upon memory that she wished to repress, but she couldn't do it. It was reliving a nightmare all over again, and her body moved more on automatic than with conscious intent, and the she-cat's breathing was quickened. No one had ever seen Senescence terrified, but even with that dead look in her gaze, it was all but apparent that she seemed afraid, her body tense, claws extended, the dull fur on her spine ever so slightly raised. She mumbled something under her breath, something only those nearest to her might be able to decipher as probably along the lines of "We are safe, we are free." Senescence had only shown up late in the prior evening, after most had gone to bed, or were in the process of doing so, and it was unlikely any really realized Wanderingwight had returned up until this point, unless they made the connection in appearance.

Fallfling emerged, small and tiny. Her ferret sprout was now bigger than she was, much to both of their confusion. She climbed onto Sprout's back, riding out among the sea of confused kittens that now filled DayClan's camp with wide eyes. This didn't make any sense, but as her eyes landed upon her brother Fairytalebride, she made her way over looking down from Sprout's back "I don't understand" she mewed confused looking around. Even their mother was small and tiny.
Lovesmitten stumbled out to meet the other cats, his king red fur fluffed out making his features more sounded and soft. His fluffy tail swished back and forth as he looked for his mate among the crowd, but instead the crowd of kittens was jut to overwhelmingly cute. He let out an exited squeak, everyone was just so adorable and cute!! He could feel his heart pounding, as his eyes found his children in the crowd. He knew that they looked a lot like him, but now that they were all about the same size and age, the resemblance was uncanny. Especially with Fallfling and Fairytalebride
There was a terribly loud shrieking from the medicine cat's den -- a sleeping Brakewings had rolled toward his stores and his tiny kitten body had become encased in cobwebs that hugged his paws close to his body.
For the first time in moons, his body didn't ache when he woke up, and he felt light and balanced on his toes. The fluffy ebony tom bounced over to Divinefavor and tackled her gleefully, tiny paws flailing toward her face. "Who cares how we got this way? Let's play!" Ebonygold chirped. Jadie
"Hey, are you okay? You don't look very good," the tom murmured, cocking his head and looking Wanderingwight up and down sympathetically. "Did you get hurt before all this happened?" He peered at her closely with dark green eyes, sensing something very familiar about this kit, though he wasn't sure why. "Don't worry," he assured her, the corner of his mouth quirking up in a familiar grin, "I'll take you to the medicine cat's den and we'll get you all cleaned up." Deal reached one paw out to pat her reassuringly when he finally made the connection because the injured kitten and his former daughter-in-law, and he jerked back with his eyes thrown wide. "Wanderingwight?"

Wanderingwight didn't even notice Deal approaching, instinctively covering her one eye with a paw, claws digging into her skin slightly as she wished she could just get the images, the flashes of the past to just STOP. Only at the very last moment did her mother's ex-mate register in her mind, and Naveen flinched back on instinct, ears flattening as she dropped into a fighting stance, staring at the tom for a long moment, the face of her captor staring back at her until she blinked, and then it was only Deal. Her chest rose and felt in a quick rhythm, breathing hard despite not having actually done any sort of hard labor gaze never leaving his even as blood trickled down the side of her face from the self-inflicted wound. His words came in slowly, as if through water, and the only part she could really comprehend was her name, registering it as the warrior name she'd given herself only after a long few moments. "Deal." The word tasted unnatural on her tongue, almost like she was dredging it up from a forgotten corner of her mind rather than simply recalling it as normal. Cleaver
Divinefavor was blindsided, she had expected the Warriors of the Clan to act a little bit mature, but then again she had always been an old soul. Ears pinned to the back of her head, she took a good tumble and let out a hiss as she batted back at Ebonygold, "Hey! Stop that!" But her blows were playful and a light that had been missing recently was shining in her eyes, "You'll mess up my fur!" Cleaver
Yuccablossom tasted blood in the air before she saw it. When her sunny hazel eyes settled on her kitten-aunt Sen, her mouth fell open. She'd never seen a kit so scarred up and wounded in all her life, she would sooner put her neck in the mouth of a badger than see a little one marred as severely as the proxy. It was unforgivable. Despicable. Sickening.
Seeing the look of fear in Sen's eyes, she rushed over to her side, dragging the now much too large slate necklace she always wore on the ground behind her. Yuccablossom placed herself right in front of black-and-white tom and stuck her tail straight in the air, "Leave her alone... she... she's afraid!"
Turning her back to Deal, she met her aunt's haunting gaze, her own eyes tearing up, "What happened to you?" HoneystormCleaver
"Weligion stuff? What does that have to do with anything?" Glowstar mewed to Cardinalsin before looking down at Burningsummer, "Ummm. Nope! But we are going to figuah it out. Coises.. Coi... Cah. Cah-Currrses are caused by symbols or hex materials. So let's try to find things out of the ordinary, it could even be underneath nests! So maybe we should all look around for anything sus-pi-shhhus."
Glowstar made the mistake of hopping down from the pointed stone as she normally did, but only caught air when she was used to landing. Instead she plummeted to the ground with a splat. Seeing stars she slowly sat herself back up before focusing on Foxbane, "You look so pretty," She said in a daze. She shook her head once, snapping herself out of it. Leaping to her paws in one quick motion she stared determinedly ahead, "Okay everyone, let's check every nook and cranny!"
Fairytalebride bit at the stick while leaning into Goldenphantom sinking back into his kitten comforts before noticing Fallfling. Right, they needed to stay focused on the task at hand. He couldn't freak out... But it was so easy to, so hard not to. He looked both ways before gesturing to the water and then at everyone as kits. This is what the yellow moon curse was, he had theories, but never this. He turned in the direction of Brakewing's scream, but passively waved his paw, "He's probably fine, but mom Fallfling and I are going to go um. Find the symbol thingy together sooo we're going to go do some sibling bonding."
The hiss left her lips before she could stop it, leaning down further into her stance, drawing her slightly down and away from Yuccablossom. Wanderingwight was wound up tighter than a spring, and she looked much like she could break down, run, or attack at any moment, and it was actually hard to tell which was more likely. Regardless, this was beyond unusual behavior, and concerning to say the least. Perhaps if she had addressed her past before this her reaction might have not been so strong.. but when one buried everything and downright refused to acknowledge it or explain, things sort of piled up and up, and up. Usually to a breaking point. Of course, generally, such mental breakdowns weren't kickstarted by being turned back into your childhood self, let alone oneself shortly after their entire world had fallen. She couldn't stand that look Yuccablossom gave her, and Sen wanted to claw it right off her face, force the she-cat to turn on her, to leave her alone. To just GO AWAY. She hated the other she-cat's tears. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" Her adult mind couldn't keep up with her more youthful, childish instincts. All reason and sense just seemed to further be shoved into the corners just when she had a moment's grip on it, slipping like sand between her claws. JadieCleaver
Vixenkismet giggled at Glowstar's fall, the sound much lighter, more genuine than her adult self. As though all the worries and fears and mental weight had slipped her mind, if only for a moment, and she lightly batted the she-cat's ear. "And you're adowable!" She countered, stopping herself just short of playing with the other's tail as her mind quickly caught up with her instincts. Faith
Fia Cendrillon was generally a cute kitten. Albeit with a bit of a grumpy, distrusting expression. She had a few scrapes here and there, but nothing near so bad as Senescence. Of course, her fur also hid all the bruises that one couldn't see, though it was a bit more apparent in the wincing as she bound over to Goldenphantom, a soft hiss leaving her mouth at the pain. "Could you just shut up for once, Autumngossamer?" She snapped at the she-cat as she passed, having heard her comment about Glowstar and being unable to stop herself from returning one herself. She realized her words a moment later, but her young self was just petulant enough to not actually apologize.
Autumngossamer's tiny claws sheathed and unsheathed at Fia Cendrillion's words, anxiety gripping her. Within half a second she could always determine a person's weakness. She grew up in DayClan, but she was raised by a fox with only her most primal of instincts to rely on. Every attack to her body or name was a challenge of equal value against her dignity. But she wasn't tough, backed into a corner when being challenged put her on instinct into survival mode she used her words like claws, "Oh yeah, you're one to talk with your broken ratty face mom wailing like injured prey."
Her heart was pounding loud in her ears, but as her defensive nature lowered the words she said caught up to her.
Some people bite, they had a defensive nature like her. Cats who bite, pick fights, came off as an overall dumb hot head always got more leniency than her. A clever smart mouth was never an empathized bully, but the pain and the fear came from all the same places as someone rowdy like Fia. Only in her case she chose to use words to hurt others than actual damage. Autumngossamer's brown eyes teared up just barely, she already had control of her tear ducts at this age, on instinct she held back the tears, a sign of weakness, "I'm... So sorry. I don't. I say awful things in defense, because I feel attacked, but you didn't deserve that. You always seemed so confident at this age and I never felt anything close to believing in myself. So to me, you always felt invincible so when you would stand up to me it was terrifying. I don't blame myself back then, I had no one to teach me better, but now I do know better and I am accountable so I'm sorry."
Glowstar giggled before letting out a play growl, her paw dashing out from under her and bopping Vixenkismet in the chest for playing with her tail. They weren't friends at this age, but by the time she would have been an older apprentice she had known her. One of the few clan cats she knew who wasn't afraid of blood or fighting. Suddenly she stopped, her ears perking up when she heard Senescence yell, but didn't recognize the voice as her daughters, "What the heck was that?" She laughed.
Deal hesitated, staring at Senescence in shock. Seeing her as a kit was strange, but he couldn't imagine it made her any less dangerous... yet she wasn't acting very threatening either. "I'm not trying to hurt her," he murmured in protest as Yuccablossom intervened, but maybe that was for the best. He didn't know what to say.
But Yuccablossom didn't seem very helpful either.
"Maybe we should just leave her alone?" he suggested. "Or take her to the medicine cat?"
"Well then, we can clean it up again later! I haven't had so much fun in ages." Ebonygold broke into a wicked grin. "Like, literally, I can't remember being this young, I'm not sure I was ever this tiny." He was happy to meet her blows, though the former medicine cat wasn't much of a fighter, and even as a kit Divinefavor would beat him easily if she tried. @jadie

"If it's a curse, it must be tied to some sort of belief." For as young as Funk was, he was well spoken. Not slurring his speech like some of the other kits. All that time back at his twoleg house came back. Of being groomed and pampered and taught how to stand still for twolegs to look you over. It's what made him saunter over Glowstar and Foxbane once the former fell. The grass felt so distinct under his feet, he forgot what it was like to feel this well. "Yes. We're all adorable though you two are the adorablest." Okay, somewhat well-spoken. "Wait, if we're kits... then I can experiment on myself again!" It was a sickeningly cute happy face for Funk, short fur puffing up in excitement. FaithHoneystorm
~~
"Of course, you two be careful." Goldenphantom managed to wave goodbye to Fairytalebride and Fallfling before a slit seemed to open right above her eye. Another wound opened up. She always bled too much. Especially now as blood began to drip down and cover the golden half of her face. Even with the startling show, she smiled at Fia and Autumngossamer. "Guys, there's no need to fight."
~~
Princecharming came back from her screaming session in time to see the crowd of cats around one other cat. Well, two cats but it was still a good amount. Her peachy pink fur puffed up, golden eyes like a doll's as she walked over to Yucca and Deal. "Let's give her some space, my dear, and Deal. I think she's overwhelmed, and crowding in her face will only make it worse." She was as prince-like as ever, and was mostly talking to Yucca as she tried to gently pull the other away from Senescence. Not that Prince recognized her grandmother underneath all the injuries. "It'll be easier for Brakewings or Funk to come to her, though I am uncertain of their... abilities at the moment." JadieCleaver

Fallfling motioned for her brother to join her on the ferret as Sprout carried them out of earshot of the rest of the clan "Brother... this was unexpected..." Faith
YUCCABLOSSOM Yuccablossom looked from Deal to Princecharming as if they had grown two heads.
"Any cat who says 'leave me alone' really means the opposite. Shame on the both of you for taking the easy way out," She mewed with conviction, wiping the tears out of the corner of her eyes, she was getting fired up now. She pulled away from Princecharming's grasp and planting herself firmly less than a tail-length away from Sen and wrapped her tail around her paws.
Yuccablossom needed to focus on Sen, so that's what she did. She wanted to help her clean her wounds, have a heart to heart, those kind of things came easily to her, but she knew better than to try something like that in this case. It was a delicate situation. She'd have to work on the other she-cat's schedule, not her own, "Wanderingwight. You don't have to talk to me if you don't wanna, but I'm here for you. I'll do whatever you want except leave." HoneystormstrawberrycupidCleaver
DIVINEFAVOR "If you feel so good, then why are you so weak?" Divinefavor giggled, it soon turned into shrill laughter, she hadn't felt so light-hearted in moons. It was therapeutic. She wrestled with Ebonygold for awhile yet before getting the upper hand and pinning him to the ground, "I win! You know what that means..." She proceeded to blow raspberries on his tummy. Cleaver
"Unexpected?" Fairytalebride asked innocently, his neck cracking and his paws twitching back and forth, his ticks fueled by his overwhelming anxiety, "That doesn't cover half of what I'm feeling. I-I just wanted respect, I just wanted to- I'm always the weirdo!" He said turning to his sister with blurry teared up blue eyes, the ones he had before his eyes were injured. He wiped at his tears, but they kept falling, "I couldn't feel, I tore out all my fur, even you didn't want to hangout with me. I don't know what it's like to be normal, to just. I don't know, do something, to just hunt a mouse and catch one after working on it for a few days. I never had that, I trained every second of my life just to do what everyone else could do. I just wanted to be looked at because I'm impressive, not impressively stupid. I thought when I grew up I'd be given a great warrior name that reflected everything I worked hard to be. But I didn't and even when I try to teach everyone a lesson I fail. I'm never going to grow up and be normal or respected. I'm just... A joke." He swallowed hard as he began to chew at his paw.
The last person Divinefavor would have ever expected to want to play was Harvestcharm, but he looked happier, less like a wallflower. He couldn't have felt better being reverted back to a kit before he was cursed.
"Oh, you can espearament on me if you want to too, Luc always makes it sound like so much fun!" Glowstar exclaimed.
The Yellow Moon
The wind shifted, the grey clouds above clearing the night sky completely leaving only the glaring eye of the yellow moon above. Suddenly a thinly veiled mist spread into DayClan's camp, the sound of kittens laughter echoing in its wake.
"Are my children having fun? Good, good, good." Her words moved along the mist like the foggy substance itself had a voice. The voice was motherly, nurturing in tone, "My son Eternallaughter came here for shelter many moons ago, he loved this clan, led this clan." Within the shadowy depths of camp a ragdoll she-cat moved out from the darkness, startling bright yellow eyes beamed brightly in the DayClan's cats direction. Threading in between her legs were tiny kits, none that anyone recognized as being DayClan cats. "But Eternallaughter was never mommies favorite, which is why I must dispose of his toys so he'll start minding his manners in StarClan," The she-cat said.
A sickening smile spread thin across her prim perfect lips, but it wobbled before an audible crack could be heard as her jaw deformed, swiveling unnaturally far to the side. The sound of bones cracking amplified as her entire body began to deform into a mangled mess of gaping wounds, skeletal pieces sticking out from skin, body parts moved too far, and her skin peeling off, she was a corpse. "Now who wants to come to mama?" She sang out, a single tooth falling from her jaw. Within one step and the next she appeared behind Goldenphantom her claws gripping her cheeks, forcing her to smile, "Oh you'll do nicely," She purred as her claws dug into the side of Goldenphantom's lips with ease, knowing she was helpless now that the immortal council member was a kit. She grinned as her claws suddenly moved fast as though she were about to create a permanent smile on the she-kits face, but instead paused, her entire body still as her head rotated unnaturally to face Fairytalebride and Fallfling.
"Oh, and thank-you Fairytalebride for releasing my curse, I'm sure your clan mates will learn to respect you more when they're good and dead. I'm Yellowmoon by the way, Brakewings, Darkpaw, and Fairytalebride's friend." Yellowmoon purred.

Fallfling moved until her pelt brushed up against her brother's even though it was patchy and felt off against her own fur "Brother..." she wished she had seen his suffering sooner, that she had reached out to him before it had gotten so bad. It wasn't that she hadn't wanted to hang out with him, the truth was she hadn't spent much time with any of her family since becoming an animal whisperer, pushing them away at every turn. Since finding out that their mothers had lied to them, it had been hard for her to let anyone in. She lifted her paw and wiped away his tears as the appeared on his cheek "I can't change the past.... But we can still change the future, isn't that what we are trying to do here? To make a better name for ourselves?"
That was until the sound of Yellowmoon caught her attention. She didn't know the she-cat but site, but the sound of her voice was enough to make her fur bristle and that was before she started transforming into the horrible creature that now stood looking right at her and Fairytalebride. A hiss escaped her lips, as she lifted Goldenphantom up, and without missing a beat she stomped her foot "Let OUR MOTHER go, right now... or so help what ever monstrous soul lies within you" she growled, as Sprout began to chatter clearly just as upset as Fallfling Faith
Mysteryleaf A fluffy black kit turned her head towards Fairytalebride stunned by the revelation the evil cat had said. "Fairytalebride... I don't understand." She meowed, her ears drooping.
After WinterClan's attack and Fairytalebride had been horribly injured at the paws of Wintrystar, the warrior had pulled away and retreated into herself. She'd lost one of her beloved friends, and watched as the cat she'd tried to guide to be stronger was instead brutally mauled as he didn't realize his limits. Guilt and grief had driven her to stay away afraid Fairytalebride would rightfully demand her to explain why she hadn't better prepared him. Why he wasn't the great warrior he'd worked so hard to be.
As a kit all those complicated emotions swirled in the little black cat. And instead she looked at Fairytalebride horrified.
The rosey she-kit let out a sigh, her paws trembling more. She was far more unpracticed this young. It was before her whole schtick, her personality felt necessary. So she walked shakily, eyes flicking from side to side. "I'm not saying to leave her alone completely. But we don't want to be crowding around her. The last thing we need to do is scare her off." Princecharming whispered to Yuccablossom. Not that she expected the other to listen to her fully. "Keep an eye on her then. Let me go get Brakewings." That she said to both Yucca and Deal, nodding at the latter to hopefully keep an eye on both as she left and slipped into the medicine cat's den. Though when she came in and saw Brakewings encased in his own materials, her expectations of him sank. "Come on then. We need you to do your job."
"That so?" Funk tilted his head at Glowstar. He'd have to ask Lucistic just what he was talking about with her. His paws didn't hold the same precision, but they were gentle as he looked her over, maneuvering her in a few directions before letting go. "A bit on the delicate side, but I'm sure I can find something that'll... excite you, nonetheless."
Her right eye was closed, stifling her vision. Now her face painted the picture of a bleeding mask. It was light enough to where you could see the gold highlights in her fur. But just as she became concerned about it, the world seemed to stop. One cat appeared, the only adult. Even injured, she got up and stood protectively in front of Fia and Autumngossamer. Eternallaughter? She barely remembered him. He died shortly after she joined. His position was taken by Kasdeya, who Goldenphantom then went to succeed. She swallowed bitterly. Trying to think of what to do, something to do. But then Yellowmoon teleported behind her and grabbed at her cheeks. She struggled, but that only made the claws sink in more. Even with claws in her mouth, blood starting to pool in its crevices, her smile slowly tearing wider, Goldenphantom's eyes were on Fairytalebride. Her son, her lovely son did this? No way. But the blank look and Fallfling's cry only convinced her. "Fairytale... why?" Her words were gargled, sloppy and forced out of her lips. Blood staining her fur as more wounds opened.
