Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Strawberrypaw was in a bad mood. Every endeavor she seemed to undertake in the past day had turned out badly. A temperamental wind that seemed to shift direction every few seconds had thoroughly thwarted her every attempt to practice hunting by bringing her scent to every bird or rodent that she got within stalking distance of. Deciding to switch to practicing her battle moves, she had enlisted the help of Shrikepaw, who she generally got along with - more than most of the other apprentices, anyway - but frustration left over from the morning had quickly caused her temper to flare and bring that training session to an end. She stalked back into camp now with a dark cloud of bad temper hanging over her head, just waiting to unleash the thunder on the first cat who stepped unwittingly into it.
By contrast, Fluffypaw had had a similarly unsatisfying day, but seemed none the worse for wear because of it. She had also pursued some battle practice, with the help of Cricketpaw, who had immediately surrendered anytime Fluffypaw made contact with her - which had boosted Fluffypaw's ego the first time, but it quickly became clear that it was no help in actually improving her skills. However, as she reminded herself, there was always another day and another cat to practice with - she was sure she could convince Breezepaw to help her out tomorrow, and he definitely did not have the same problem as Cricketpaw. She sat now a small way away from the apprentices' den, grooming her ordinarily disheveled pelt into something resembling a normal state.

Softpaw had been in better moods as of late. His training was going okay, no one had bugged him in a while, and he'd made friends with NightClan's new deputy. Everything was looking up and today, he decided he didn't need to hide in the shadows of the camp. With his head held high, he walked out of the apprentice's den, not even noticing Fluffypaw or any other cat in the cave. His attention was on the fresh-kill pile, fully stocked and calling his name. Normally, he would wait until the pile was reduced to one or two morsels before he'd eat, but no longer! Oblivious to Strawberrypaw and her loosely contained anger, the silver bengal nearly brushed her nose as he cut in front of her.
Strawberrypaw drew up short, anger causing her fur to bristle along her back as she was suddenly cut off - by Softpaw, of all cats, who she already disliked just by virtue of his heritage. "Hey, kittypet," she snapped at his tail. "Do you wanna watch where you're going, or did the Twolegs take your eyes away too?"

Flinching from her harsh tone as well as to keep his tail a safe distance from her mouth, Softpaw spun around to face the she-cat. His grey eyes rounded as he realized it was Strawberrypaw in front of him. It was no secret that she despised him for his past and he normally did his best to avoid her. Now, he was internally berating himself for acting so carelessly. Yet, her insult struck a nerve with Softpaw--causing his chest to tighten and his ears to flatten against his scalp. It was a sudden and surprising anger that he'd never felt before. The emotion startled him and he quickly corrected his posture to show submission. "I- I'm sorry, Strawberrypaw," he stammered with a duck of his head.
Strawberrypaw felt the briefest flash of satisfaction as Softpaw cowered in front of her, in the grips of her own anger not even noticing the flash of rage that flew across his face. "Well, next time," she growled, "If you don't watch your step I might have to give you a little reminder, and some of us still have cla-"
"Strawberrypaw! Don't you have something better to do than yell at Softpaw?" Fluffypaw's grooming session had been interrupted by the commotion, Strawberrypaw's voice being not exactly quiet, especially within the echoey confines of the cave. While disdain of Softpaw and his past wasn't so uncommon among her clanmates, Fluffypaw didn't see why some of them felt the need to take it out on him all the time, and she stalked up behind him now with a flash of righteous anger in her eye.
"Oh, of course, I guess I'll leave in peace with your kittypet boyfriend," Strawberrypaw sneered, deciding that a fight with Fluffypaw wasn't worth it but knocking against Softpaw's shoulder as she stalked away from them.

His eyelids shut tight as he curled in on himself. He could have guessed the she-cat would continue taunting him, but the threat didn't sit well with him. Could he even stand a chance in a fight against her, or any apprentice for that matter? Softpaw flinched at the sudden shout, not recognizing the voice and too nervous to glance their way. With another cat involved in this, they were really making quite the scene. His skin burned as he felt--or imagined--eyes on him. Only when he felt the she-cat's presence at his side, did he peek up at his defender. Fluffypaw? Out of all the cats in NightClan, he'd never expected her to stand up for him. Not that she'd ever treated him badly or anything. Just the way she looked and acted made him think she wasn't much for conflict. Now though, the anger in her eyes was extremely evident.
The last taunt caught him off guard, but before either of them could retort, Strawberrypaw had already pushed past him. Confusion, shock, and embarrassment were fighting to control him, but with effort he managed to consider the she-cat beside him. As much as he wanted to question her, he knew that should be a secondary response. Still hesitant to straighten up, his grey eyes honed in on the fur of her paws. "Thank you," he muttered. Truly, he was grateful for what she'd done, but he also felt bad for bringing her into his mess. "You... you didn't have to do that though."
