Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Alvah Faris growled trying to leap up onto the steep stone walls only to slip back down into the pit again. His paws bloody, cracked, and sore sending waves of pain through his bones. He felt like he was back in the empty two-leg shed, or maybe it was a hollow tree where he was imprisoned and wounded as a kitten. Snowbunny had seen Alvah Faris's violence and tried to muzzle him earlier to no success. That was the problem though, his behavior didn't have any consequences yet so he easily threw his weight around. When he caught scent of Wintrystar he suddenly stopped, digging his wounded paws deep into the snow and sat still like he hadn't completely damaged the prison walls. Truly it was like walking in on a dog that had destroyed the house and was now acting like he didn't do anything troublesome. Deep inside he felt she locked him up because she was embarrassed by him, by them. He wanted to be someone she could proudly display at her side, he thought he could do that by being a WinterClan warrior, but it seemed like that could only happen by being born into the clan. Unless he wanted to be submissive in order to be released from the prison, but that was a lot to ask.
"What are you in for?" Alvah Faris asked casually as though Wintrystar were joining him as a prisoner.
"I'm here to check in on you. I planned to come sooner but the clan has been more demanding than I anticipated. But this became a higher priority when you began lashing out. I wasn't aware that being in this den would be a problem for you?" Her words appeared cold, but if you saw her eyes, you'd know she was truly concerned for the tom. She'd slowly fallen for him, but she still held her heart guarded, unsure of herself and the extent to which this tom was willing to go for her or how the clan would see their union.
Wintrystar glanced around her, taking in the noted damage. While the clan had been demanding as of late, it was more of keeping an image and not seeming too eager that she'd delayed her trip to the prisoner's den. The clan was important to her, and came before her own personnel gain or affections. But she also valued her image and thus she wouldn't be able to take a cat as her mate unless they were admired by the clan. She couldn't have anyone questioning her leadership as they sometimes did her linage. It was a low blow to ask for purebloods to be valued more in the clan when she herself was not one. But it was a way to make WinterClan stronger and most of the clan agreed with the ideal so she wouldn't stop with pushing the agenda. For a while she thought about taking a pureblood mate merely for status gain. From there she'd produce a single litter and denounce her union to the tom. But then the dating event had happened with DayClan. A way for both clans to increase their numbers and possibly come to an alliance. Wintryustar met him, a tom she was more than attracted too, but so unsure of herself and how to react to her new found feelings.
He walked over to the leader, with each step his violent disposition softened until he stood before her tall and handsome the way she saw him before. "I thought I could join and we could grow what we had, but I know now it doesn't work that way. I want to be someone you can be proud to have at your side." His frigid icy gaze lowered, "So what would I have to do to be worthy of not just you, but also WinterClan?"
He knew he should be behaving more, that other prisoners were put to work doing hard labor, but so far he had proved to be too violent for anyone to consider him doing that. He didn't want to have to lower his pride and do grunt work, but he was already getting the feeling that he would have no choice.
"Time and patience. WinterClan is a political clan, each move I make is with careful thought and yours should be as well. Pureblood is valued and outsiders are dismissed. It is merely because my father gained the clan's good graces before mating my mother that I am even standing here as the leader of the clan." It's hard to describe WinterClan without making it sound like a horrible clan or one that is so stuck in its ways it will dismiss everyone and anyone. But the clan is old, and their ways even older. The recent switch in religion had been lead by her and it had so far been taken in stride. But even that might be solely because of the lack of consult from StarClan and the disregard the ancestors have had in the past moons towards the clan. Overall, she was lucky to have such faithful and strong followers. Allowing a stranger into their mists just because of her feelings was risky.
Wintrystar sighed, "do not worry. You came peacefully and handed yourself over without a fight. The only thing against you at the moment is your current....temper and the fact that you are of outsider blood. But I can see you winning them over with ease. Make friends, even if they're just political ones as I have. A trail happens for each prisoner when it's deemed appropriate." She hoped he's would come soon, but even then she was afraid. Afraid of what the clan would think and how they would react if she took him as her mate without producing proper heirs with WinterClan blood.
Alvah Faris sighed, "I have sucked up to Frostcloud lately, initially I took her for a she-cat with a mean look, but she taught me I couldn't be more wrong pretty quick," He remarked with a twitch of his ear. She had completely made him submit and he could only be glad with the fact that Wintrystar wasn't there to see him be forced into such a pathetic situation. But he didn't hold any grudges against the knight, if anything she had earned his respect.
His blue gaze looked bitter for just a moment before warming up. He couldn't stay mad at Wintrystar, "But that wouldn't be enough would it? Even if I had friends in high places, even if I became a role model WinterClan warrior you still couldn't be seen with me as your mate?"
Wintrystar wasn't sure how to answer. She stood there frozen, clearly unsure of herself. It was the first time in ages she'd felt this way. The last time was when she learned the truth about her parents and uncle, having witnessed the whole affair. Now...now she didn't know what to say. "It's..it's expected that I take a pure-blooded mate as leader of the clan...." Expected, more like commanded. Traditions were to be upheld and she was trying to make WinterClan strong gain by bringing them back to their traditions. That included pure bloodism. The she-cat spoke with uncertainty but as though she'd rehearsed the words plenty of times before. It wasn't what she wanted, but what was expected of the leader of the clan pushing for past traditions to resurface. The winter storm gazed upon the tom before her, but couldn't meet his eyes. She averted hers to the side, unable to look at him as she spoke. Wintrystar was stiff, cold, and seemingly unmoved. But the truth was her inner oasis was in turmoil.
Alvah Faris stared at her for a long moment, "I want you to look at me and see everything you need. If I was WinterClan blooded would you take me as your mate or would hesitate?" He asked, this time more quietly so no one else could hear them.
(pao Sorry for the short reply, it's just building up to the bigger reply xD)
"I...." Would she? Her heart seemed to yield that way, but she just couldn't wrap her mind around the idea. For once she wasn't solid in her decision, confused by duty and feelings. But taking a deep breath, pulling up some courage and looking the tom she'd begun to fall for in the eyes she spoke without further hesitation. "Yes."
(ah come on faith! I expected long replies form you lol)
"I am WinterClan, Wintrystar. My uncle is Understar, the ex leader of WinterClan. My earliest memories are of my kidnappers though, I didn't grow up here or anything. The only reason I know about my heritage at all is thanks to my mother saving me moons later. My family was in DayClan so I stayed there, but you know how WinterClan blooded cats cats are. It was always in my veins to not enjoy their cozy safe atmosphere... I just didn't want to say anything before, you seemed like you were looking for a trophy husband. I wanted to know I was someone you could be proud of for my skills, not just my blood. But if you meant what you said I would never look down on you for not having WinterClan blood. I would obey you because you're the only person I find worthy of listening to. You're amazing and... You don't need me or any other WinterClan blooded tom to prove something to WinterClan. But if you would have me as a mate I'd make sure everyday you never forget how brilliant you are. I can promise you that," Alvah Faris said and with each sentence he spoke he drew closer until his paws were up against hers. Before she knew it he drew in closer his tongue against her lips, short, sweet, a promise kiss.
Surprise overtook her face, showing more emotion in that one moment than she had in moons. Wintrystar was known as a cold, emotionless leader, but this moment caught her by such surprise that she couldn't school her features in time. No, there was no way she could imagine he was of WinterClan blood. The mere idea that she could actually have what she wanted--what she knew deep down she wanted but hadn't yet comprehended-- brought tears to her eyes. "Tru-truly?" A stutter from the detached sovereign. Moved by his words, her body moved without though just as tears trickled from her eyes in astonishment. Could this be here fairytale? A moment of peace for her? Could the actions she takes next not be so judged by the cats of the clan? She'd been held in the light, scrutinized for each little thing since she'd became the leader of the clan, but now, now she may actually get something she desires. A life all of her own choosing. No pressure from the clan to take someone of full blood status that she didn't want. No, not when her life was standing right before her.
"You would truly join this clan, stand by me and be judged for all time, just to be mine?" Disbelief clouded her eyes form a moment, doubt that someone would stay for her. Her father was gone, her mother dead, her littermates were below her ins tatus now, and her half-siblings unaware of their status to her. Life was lonely...but if she could have this, someone strong, capable of standing ground beside her, then why shouldn't she take it? The clan would accept him for his blood, his skills, his size, and his behavior. But they would judge him for taking her as a mate due to her blood. And judge her for ruining him for her blood. Their union would be accepted though. A sovereign with a cat who returned with royal blood. That's what he was, practically royalty in the clan's eyes solely because he has WinterClan blood and related to a past leader of the clan.
(Sooo I can't rememebr how Understar's reign was taken so there's that lol)
"You're really not selling this," He said, but despite the small inflection of teasing if anyone could catch his jest it was Wintrystar. He nuzzled into her neck before resting his chin atop her head, "Where else would I rather be except with you?" He moved his chin off her head to look at her, "I climbed a literal mountain, walked through a snow storm, and was subjected to Frostcloud all just to be with you. You cannot make me back down now," He said his tone was serious. It was easy for most cats to fall silent at his voice, but a smile played at his lips, only for Wintrystar. That was his new rule, no one got to see him smile except for her, that was their special gift for her eyes only.
"But you really are more WinterClan than me," He added, "I won't know the customs or expectations, you'll have to guide me and I will obey every word of it."
(pao She can give him his warrior name Howlingnight ^-^)
A blush showed through her fur at his affection, something she was never used too. Wintrystar smiled, soft and sweet, a true reflection into the oasis inside. "If you can face down Frostcloud then I see no worries about the rest of the clan, bloodline or not. Are you sure my love? That you want to here, a new life?" She had to be sure. Take it as though she was insecure, inexperienced, unsure of herself. Not her place in the clan, not their religion, culture, or traditions. No, it was herself she was unsure of, her feelings she didn't understand. But with him she could. "If your sure, then a new life you shall have. With it a new name, a new chance. Are you sure?"
(Faith Perfect. I'm thinking of doing an announcement thread where he gets his name and she announces the marriage stuff and her marraieg to him. SO they'll be teh first wedding and it'll be a way to get a feel for how everyone likes the arranged marriage idea)
"Well if I go back home then my sisters my boss again," He added a bit teasingly. This wasn't his first time moving, he didn't always live in DayClan. But nothing could be worse than his first home with his kidnappers. Even though he had been humiliated in WinterClan's prisons, it was still nothing close to what he had to endure when he was a kit. He thought he wanted a peaceful life, but living in DayClan everything was too perfect. There was always enough prey, everyone was overly friendly. He somehow got a Peacekeeper class, which he assumed was his sister looking out for him so he didn't become lower class. He wanted to act protective, fierce, and loyally, but such over exaggerated behavior was disciplined n DayClan, here it was commended.
"I want you to remember something, I mean everything I say and I never regret anything. Ever. I love you and I want to stay in WinterClan."
(pao Yeah let's do it! Should I start the wedding rp or should you?)
