Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Barrenfrost looked at Littlebird and rather abruptly shattered the thick tension by saying, "So you gained weight."
He leaned back on his haunches, Littlebird has his attention, but not his interest. It wasn't like he didn't miss Littlebird when she vanished or wonder what happened to her. When she was gone he had to find all new people to bully, it was very hard on him and his litter for the first week. But seeing Littlebird in another clan, that for some reason made him... Disappointed? He really should have expected it, she was too weak for WinterClan, but on the other hand he felt no other clan should have her, but WinterClan. She was Goldenstar's daughter, this was her home too. She supposed at this point there was no way Littlebird felt the same so whatever.
waterclan lynx Leucisticcrow kept a watchful eye over his leader, Emberstar, "Would you like me to stay by you, Emberstar?" WaterClan was sometimes criticized as being too friendly, but no one could say that with Leucisticcrow next to Emberstar. He was a mountainous mass of utter darkness with a pair of eerie green eyes that reflected a copper haze in the moonlight. His claws were razor sharp and the triangular shape of his face gave an unsettling fox like resemblance.
eventide Zephyrpaw looked warrior age and very much was, he was held back for two moons and this would be the last gathering he would be an apprentice in. Still he decided to take this opportunity to hangout with another apprentice, particularly Etherealpaw. He walked over to her, his Russian blue fur blended with the twilight, while the sharp planes of his face shone white. A smiled, a slow lazy smile, "Hey, I'm Zephyrpaw from WaterClan, what's your name?"
BRENNA TO PANTHERPAW the smile on his face stayed as he tilted his head. ah, yes. this was the thought many cats had when regarding brookclan. they knew it was different, but how? "in all honesty," he meowed after a moment of thought, "i am not entirely sure how normal clans were. you see, i was a feline of the monarchy far before brookclan joined us." he was one of the original felines from what had once been a rogue group, the one that had came to the rescue of brookclan in its time of need. "from what i understand, though, there are some similarities. we have equivalent positions as what your leader, deputy, warrior, queen, apprentice and kit would be. they just have different names. we also have royal families. if you are related to the current tsar, you are a member of the cyd. if you are related to a former family, or are a special appointee, you might be a dvoryanne. these cats have more prestige and easier work loads because of their royalty. they also have private lands in the territory." his tail twitched slightly. "our medicine cat has a special focus, and the acecoops take care of more general needs, normally. this isn't always the case. we also have religious teachers, but our religion is too complex for a casual conversation." he flicked his tail, hoping that he had made sense.
KERRIGAN TO FOXSTAR / GLOWSTAR the tsar's lips curled up slightly, a half smile. the clearest way to kerrigan's good side was to compliment her crown. each tsar of brookclan wore one to each public outing; it was a symbol of power and prowess, but it was also a symbol of her journey up to this moment. only two full seasons had passed since she had risen to power, and the autumnal flowers that were woven together were done so in a way that it was clear that this crown was special. "i appreciate such kindness, especially from y-," she started, before her train of thought was interrupted by a particular other leader.
a lot had changed since the last time glowstar and kerrigan had crossed paths. the last time the dayclan leader had passed through the territory, it had been before the flood. kerrigan had quite literally died since the last time she saw the dayclan leader. this, of course, had weathered her slightly. although there was no change in her outward demeanor, kerrigan had felt on a constant edge lately. she had determined that it was in part because of the lack of rest she had gotten lately; it was hard to sleep when every time you did you felt yourself drown once again.
certainly, though, this was not the place to discuss these things, nor would she with glowstar anyways. glowstar had seen her weak once; she didn't want the dayclan leader to think that she was a repeat offender. it was just a trail of thoughts that crossed her mind as the cat approached her. from the looks of it, something had changed in the other cat's life, too. the way she held herself was different.
when she heard what the feline figured her problem was, a single brow raised. perhaps this was due to a combination of facts. one, deal had been little more than a whisper over the forest by the time the monarchy had completely established. sure, he was probably a problem in other parts of the forest (clearly he was a problem in dayclan), but with kerrigan at the helm, she wasn't aware of him at all being a problem in her portion of the words. two, as many knew by now, kerrigan had never experienced a similar feeling towards a tom. really, she hadn't felt that way for anyone, but especially not a tom. just the idea made her cringe.
"glowstar, darling, are you sure that that's what you want her diagnosis to be? surely, you couldn't possibly want a cat to have enough power over you that his absence makes you physically upset, would you?" perhaps, this was naivety. but kerrigan truly didn't understand. "you know i love you, you're a gal after my own heart," she repeated those words to the dayclan leader almost every time they interacted, "but wouldn't it be better if you like... i don't know... developed allergies or something?"
LOL I TRULY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS BECAUSE HONEY AND I REPLIED AT THE SAME TIME SO IDK everything she said would fit nicest in the conversation before foxstar speaking but i don't even know LOL
Walking past to try and find some elders, Kinkedwing tried not to visibly flinch at Glowstar's words about Deal. Ouch. The pale ginger she-cat was clearly young for an elder, her muzzle barely silver and her ocean-blue eyes bright as ever, but after retiring from being a medicine cat there wasn't much else to do than sit in the elders' den. "Lovesickness? Oh, please, that's a cold," the former medicine cat muttered too quietly for anyone to hear, finally settling next to a couple of senior warriors after being unable to find any other elders present.

Smiling at Leucisticcrow, the friendly leader meowed, "That would be lovely, thank you. Don't stay too close, though, I don't want to look weak," he purred good-naturedly. Emberstar finally padded up to the other leaders. His golden heart and diplomatic nature made him much less volatile, and the small tomcat would usually rather pick flowers than fights, leaving him in stark contrast to most of the others. "Good evening, Kerrigan, Foxstar, Glowstar," greeted the hazel-eyed tabby, dipping his head politely to each of the leaders in turn.
waterclan eventide Zephyrpaw looked warrior age and very much was, he was held back for two moons and this would be the last gathering he would be an apprentice in.
MOONCLAN Etherealpaw looked up sharply when she was approached, eyes widening slightly in surprise. "Ah, hello Zephyrpaw. I'm Etherealpaw, MoonClan. Pleased ta meetcha!" She offered a small smile, dipping her head slightly. She wasn't always the most outgoing but enjoyed making new friends. Recently she'd resolved to be more assertive when it came to being nice, and so maintained eye contact with Zephyrpaw and an unwavering smile.
WinterClan Nearly identical to her mother and mentor, Plumeriapaw strode into the gathering late. She had left her clan’s camp with the rest of the group though had gotten distracted by foliage. The flower vines had overtaken a downed tree and the scent had been simply intoxicating to her. The star shaped purple flowers tempted her to smell them and touch them. So she had and now one of the purple flowers in her maw. The shiny red berries she had left alone but marked for safe keeping, she had ideas for them she would have to test out. “I found nightshade mother.” She spoke, her eyes staring at the ground as she dropped her flower at her mother’s paws. Nowhere in Mistyveil’s instructions for the gathering involved finding herbs, especially of the poisonous variety, she could help herself as hey had crossed over new territory with new herbs to explore.
NightClan At the trees a russet furred tom cat and his patrol appeared for the gathering. Voltfox would stand in Burningstar's place, by her instruction. She didn't give a reason, and as a trusting deputy he didn't pry. He almost wanted to opt to stay home this time, but he knew an appearance was... well, important. It made them look good. With a steeled expression, his electric gaze tore into the crowd and toward the gathered leaders. Stepping forward, he pushed through the crowd, not giving a damn who was in his way. Better make room. Approaching the group made up of the various leaders, he realized he was unacquainted with all of them. His already hardened expression fell unintentionally cold. Sitting with the group, but by nobody in particular, he cleared his throat loud enough so they could hear him. "I'm standing in for Burningstar. Name's Voltfox."
"Wow, it all sounds so exotic," Pantherpaw replied. Her head was spinning from the new information and she wasn't quite sure if she understood it all. "It's a bit confusing but very interesting. So if I understand correctly, in order to be in leadership you have to born into the leadership family, right?" She tipped her hear to one side slightly in thought.

FALLCLAN Ghoststar flicked his ear as he glanced around the gathering, his eyes falling on Cinderbreeze. He half smiled in amusement, though couldn't dilute his concern for the heavily pregnant cat having insisted on joining them. With a sigh he flicked his tail at her pointedly and said, "Don't push yourself, alright?" before wandering off into the crowd with an amused twitch of his whiskers. It was another night to get to know those around him. And, he was determined to do just that.
Melodicswan cast his bright gaze around the clearing with barley contained excitement. He'd received his Warrior name; and last time, he'd been only an apprentice at the gathering. But he was older now. His pelt prickled with nerves as he looked at the vast expanse of cats, wondering where he should start. Once again he found his eyes scanning for a singularly familiar face - though he wasn't met with satisfaction. Sighing, he sat himself down and instead listened glumly to the chatter engulfing the clearing.

NightClan
With Burningstar sick with an illness that had forced her to remain in her den for the past few days, NightClan's leader was not present leaving the deputy to take her place tonight. This made Squirrelleap edgy as he looked around at the groups of cats.
He couldn't feel comfortable knowing that Burningstar's absence would likely draw attention to NightClan and potentially make it seem weak.
And with Leaffall starting, they couldn't afford to seem so. So the tabby tom straightened up and went over to some of the cats looking for someone to talk to.
At least if he spoke with some of the other cats it'd help him relax a little. He spotted Melodicswan and went over to him, "What's up with the long face? You look like you missed a plump mouse,"
Leatherstar could feel the tension in Echodrop's body beside him. Since entering the gathering place she had not left his side. Part of him pricked in frustration. He woudln't get a chance to speak to Doesymphany, or Littlebird if Echo insisted on being stuck to him like tree sap. Yet another part of him was comforted. Even after his many mistakes she was still his consistent companion. He cast a sideways glance towards Littlebird as she entered the clearing looking like the Priestess Promised that she was. He realized what was left of her heritage had been painted over.
'Racing Said:
SunClan
Littlebird found her place among the crowd, mostly keeping to herself... '
WinterClan
Crimsonrose could see the tension and wandering looks from Echodrop and Leatherstar. Her whiskers twitched she knew Echodrop didn't like her, and it seemed like an opportunity for some fun. And as one of the shards, protectors of the chief, she had an excellent excuse to be by his side. The shard stalked over to them and moved to stand at Leatherstar's other side. "Hmm, lots of cats here tonight," The big ginger she cat noted. "So many secrets, so many lies, and so many different ties." She said chuckling at the rhyme. "I wonder what will be shared tonight," She mused licking her paw. "Though considering that last few gatherings, it's likely to be an interesting show."
SunClan
Skipstep seeing his mate Littlebird sitting all alone immediately took a seat beside her. As to all concerned her kits were his, it made sense to make their relationship more obvious to any onlookers. "Are you all right?" The janus asked bending his head to whisper the question in her ear.
Glowstar's eyes softened, "No I wouldn't want to make you sick, Foxstar. I'll just stay in my own clan for a while until I get better so I don't spread it." She said as if going to a gathering full of every clan out there for her to infect wasn't at all a dangerous gesture. But it also was just a small cold. Then again Glowstar didn't really get sick, unless you consider mental illness a sickness, then she was plagued since she was a kit.
Glowstar stretched out her limbs a bit, leaffall was a good time for DayClan, it needed to be. With open fields and meadows when leafbare would hit the prey would hibernate, the cold wind had no buffer to stop it from hitting cats. Patrols for DayClan were usually next to none as any cat who would invade DayClan likely would die trying to find the camp due to the cold. Glowstar had been there for her clan through one leafbare and they were forced to leave their own camp and take shelter in the keepers mansion from how cold it got. If there was anytime for her to get sick now was the time, before the cold came.
She sniffed before responding to Kerrigan, "Think of it like this Kerrigan. You have borders, you wouldn't randomly decide, screw it, I'm going to go into rogue territory and explore the lands for three moons because you have a clan. And even if you did someone could come into BrookClan and harm it in your absence. There are forces that keep you in BrookClan, fears almost. I don't have any of that, I just have an interest in where I am and that's it. Fear delights me, death excites me, to feel the prickle of despair would be... Euphoric. It's a feeling I could only get from my kits but because they're hardcore terrifying little angels I don't have much to fear about their safety. But Deal, he fills my mind with fear, shakes me to the core of what he'll do that could land him in pain. When Foxstar met me at the border my heart was racing with that sweet bloodrush of fear and in that moment I knew I had chosen right." She blushed when anyone else would tremble at the thought of their loved one being hurt. But that was Glowstar.
"So yeah, I totally love that power he has over me. But like you do to in your own special way, like I could resist that cute little face if you told me to go die in a ditch," Glowstar grinned, it was weak, but playful enough.
Her head tilted up at Emberstar's presence, next to him was her son, Leucisticcrow, or as she named him, Lucistic.
"Well if it isn't the leader of my favorite clan ever! How's life been for you, Emberstar?" Glowstar greeted, with a bit more life, likely the socialization was distracting her from the discomfort of her sickness.
waterclan Leucisticcrow to Emberstar Leucisticcrow snickered, "Yeah, alright tough guy. Maybe when you raise a paw I'll flinch so everyone can see the fear you strike into others," he joked following after Emberstar.
Zephyrpaw to Etherealpaw "Oh cool, are you growing up to be a warrior? I'm going to be a warrior, or I'm going to be a rogue. Or I'm going to be both until someone forces me to choose," He laughed and then pointed to Etherealpaw with his paw, "If you could pick your warrior name what would it be," He winked and then purred in thought at his own question, "I'd probably want to be called Zephyrawesome or maybe Zephyrriver, Zephyrcloud, Zephyrblack, you know something cool or dreamy."
winterclan Mistyveil to Plumeriapaw "That's wonderful, love," She said, her gaze sweeping across the gathering as if she were still in a prison and needed eyes on everyone. Until the words registered in her mind on what her daughter, paw suffix or not, what was 5 moons old holding nightshade, "GAH!"
Mistyveil instinctively smacked the nightshade out of Plumeriapaw's muzzle before pulling a small mound of dirt out of the ground and placing the nightshade underneath and sitting on top of it. She rubbed the side of her head with her paw, "Plumeriapaw, you're probably the first cat who has ever brought nightshade to a gathering, congratulations. But you need to be more careful. Usually we handle that type of herb by putting it between leaves to ensure it won't harm us. Other cats here could get hurt by it or worse!" Plumeriapaw's mothers tone dropped to a mere whisper, "a leader could see the nightshade and think winterclan's planning an assassination with that. We don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. Now just go meet other apprentices, study them, see what kind of reckless endangerment they get themselves into and report back so we can prepare for that."
Only a daughter from her blood would bring nightshade to a gathering. In another setting she'd be almost proud, but in the presence of fourteen clans it was better to not stand out or fade too far into the background. Things needed to go well tonight...

WINTERCLAN
Leatherstar released a chest rumbling laugh. Was it the ridiculousness of Crimson's timing and words? Or the need to release some awkward tension building between his shoulder blades? It didn't matter. The brown tom shook his pelt tipped his head slightly towards his shard. "only you would find the social tortures of others amusing." he muttered through the end of his laugh ears twitching with the murmurs of cats.
Echodrop felt the fur around her hackles rise at Crimsonrose's proximity to her mate, teeth baring slightly. "Yes, we are always so very grateful for your insights, Crimsonrose," purred Echodrop through a grimace, pressing against Leatherstar with a triumphant smirk. She was mates to the WinterClan chief, not Crimsonrose, not his low-born flings. Her. They might have their issues, but they were mates first and that put her claim highest. She would flay the skin off of another cat if they thought to get between her mate and her, and the light in her eyes showed it.

Crimsonrose let out a chuckle, "I'm afraid you'll have a hard time ridding me of my fondness for conflict." She purred. "I will always prefer battles of tooth and claw, but the social conflicts, and the parrying of words, and subtle action, can be fine entertainment." She said tail flicking. She glanced at Echodrop and her amber eyes gleamed when she saw the look in her eyes. A look that promised murder if Crimsonrose looked for anything more than that of a Shard to the chief with Leatherstar.
The she cat really didn't need to worry her pretty little head. But Crimsonrose saw no need to correct her assumption, whiskers twitching. Far more amusing to watch her tense up, claws sheath and unsheathe, gaze promising murder. Shame she had ties to WinterClan and an oath of loyalty now, she would've loved to clash with Echodrop, see if the she cat had the strength to back up the murder in her eyes.
But alas, twas not to be. So Crimsonrose instead enjoyed the much more subtle and intricate dance she was engaging with her students chosen mate. Only a game. But fun nonetheless.
