(Deerpaw made a mistake not to long ago. She'd thought she'd found love in a tom from WinterClan. She told no one about him. But it turned out to be short lived with a major consequence)
Deerpaw had just left WinterClan and her lover, well ex-lover now. Just as she'd had news for him, that he hadn't liked at all, the sandy brown tabby had some for her own family and she'd asked to have dinner with them all to announce it. Truthfully, she hoped it would go better than it had with Morningpaw earlier that morning. The apprentice snagged a bird on her way to the nursery, where the rest of her family was to met her.
Berryfrost spotted her older daughter coming her way and called for the kits to come over from where they'd been playing. If Deerpaw had somethings he wanted to say, then they'd hear her out. The mother didn't know what to expect from her wild child, but it wasn't what she was about to find out. The worst she'd thought of was that the apprentice was being held back due to runnig off to much to explore than training as she was suppose to be.

Desertkit froze from the game her and her littermates were playing, her paw hanging above her head she slowly set it down and stood up at her mothers call for them to join her. "Come on guys!" She called back to the others over her shoulder and raced to Berryfrosts side just in time to see Deerpaw walking slowly toward them. "Hi Deerpaw." The small kit stepped out in front of her mother mewing a greeting to her older sister. "Have you come to play with us!?" Without waiting for an answer Desertkit ran out to Deerpaw and began to circle around her, her eyes bright.
"Not today....I have something I've gotta say." The kits may like the news considering it be new little ones for them to play with. Her parents on the other hand.....probably not. Deerpaw was beyond nervous to tell them the news she had. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't exactly great either. Sure new kits for the clan but it also meant putting her life on hold until they were apprentice age. Stepping back, the she-cat avoided the kit and moved towards her mother.

Desertkits tail dropped to the ground and she padded after her older sister with her head low until she stood beside Berryfrost, the she-kit sat down at her mothers side waiting to hear what her sister needed to say. It must be important if she didn't want to play.
(Sorry, guys! I just moved to Florida and Im trying to get settled)
Toadstream padded up, a vole dangling from his jaws. The scent of the fresh-kill made his mouth water but he fought the urge to sink his teeth in and devour it. He hadnt eaten all day. He had just finished his training and he was taking advantage of sleeping in every day.
He dropped the vole in front of Berryfrost and nuzzled her effectionately before turning to Deerpaw and nuzzling her as well. "What is it that you have to say?"
Deerpaw took a deep breath, this wouldn't be easy for her to say. "I..I may have made a mistake. A big one." Should she just come out and say it? It wasn't going to end well either way but still, it might be better that way. "I'm pregnant." Tears started to well in her eyes, as she awaited their judgment.
At first, Toadstream was shocked then it was followed by anger. How could his sister make a choice so stupid? But before he could say anything, he saw the regret and hurt in her eyes as she began to tear up. Toadstream swallowed back the growl rising up in his throat and the frustration that clawed at him. His eyes softened as he watched his sister break before him. He rested his tail on her, fighting back the urge to scold her. It was a mistake. No cat was perfect. Not even him.
"I...I'm sorry..." Was all he could say, though his voice was soothing. After a moment of searching for the right words, he continued, "we are family, Deerpaw. Just because its a mistake, doesnt mean we are going to hate you and treat you any different." He licked her between the ears and looked at her lovingly.

Desertkits ears perked up at her older sister words and her mind started to real, she noticed her sisters tears and pain stabbed through her as she did not like to see other especially her family upset. "It's okay Deerpaw! Please don't be sad!" She shot to her paws and moved to her sisters side burying her face into her fur as she tried to comfort her, the news of new kits being born and new family at that lost as her mind focused on trying to make Deerpaw feel better.
She nuzzled her two siblings trying to comfort her, truly she appreciated it. Wiping her tears with her tail, the she-cat gave one last sniff before addressing them again. "I know it was a mistake," a stupid one that left her with her heartbroken by a heartless tom she thought she loved. No, Deerpaw knew better now, stealing herself to look her parents in the eyes. "I know I screwed up. But I'm gonna own it. You guys have been the best parents and I'm gonna do the same for my kits!"
Berryfrost had been too shocked by the news to even say anything. Like her son, she was angered, but more at herself. How had she failed as a mother that her daughter was to be a mother at such a young age? Where had they gone wrong? Her eyes sought her mates, trying to find some means to understand, react to the news they'd been given. Where did they stand? Tears welled in her own eyes both from the news and then her daughter's words.

Stonefang was shocked at the news and was speechless at first. He moved closer to Berryfrost to offer some comfort. Immediately his mind went to trying to figure out who was the father of Deerpaw's kits. Why wasn't he here with Deerpaw when she told us? Wasn't he cat enough to take responsibility? "What's done is done," he said quietly. "We can't do anything about the past but we can help our daughter in her future." He looked around then back at Deerpaw. "I want you to know we still love you very much. But why isn't the tom who fathered your kits with you now as you tell us this news?" He racked his brain to figure out who it might be but he couldn't remember seeing her keeping company with any of the young toms in the clan.
"He...." The father? Morningpaw wanted nothing to do with the kits, or her. New tears sprang to her eyes as she remembered the fight the two had had only that morning. The end of their relationship, a bitter sweet love affair. "He..he didn-..." What did she say? Her eyes searched her mother's, father's, Toadstream's. What do you say when your kits' fat6her wants nothing to do with you?
Toadstream wrapped his tail over Deerpaw, protectively. He understood what she was trying to say. That lousy piece of crowfood he thought resentfully. What kind of father would do that? He was a very young tom himself but he was more of a tom than that sorry excuse for a father. He knew he would take responsibility if he was ever in that situation. It angered him that most toms wouldn't do the same. Anger bubbled up inside him, but not at his sister, at the tom who had broken his sister's heart. "Who is this tom anyway?" he asked, a hint of darkness in his tone. If he ever saw that fox heart again, he would shred him.
Desertkit stayed pressed against her sisters side as everything unfolded around them, she was excited that she would have nieces and nephews she could help look after and play with but the sadness radiating from Deerpaw sent a wave of anger through her. She looked at Stonefang thinking of what a supportive father he was and couldn't grasp how any cat would be so unwilling to be there for their family, was the father of Deerpaws kits that cold hearted.
"We will help you take care of them if he wont!" She looked up at Deerpaw her voice shaky but determined, she wanted her to know that no matter what she would always have her family.

Stonefang's heart went out to his daughter. He really didn't believe the father was inside the clan. "I agree with what Desertkit just said. But it's okay if you don't want to share who the father is," he meowed comfortingly. He came closer to Deerpaw, on the opposite side from Toadstream. "But you don't have to fear, your kits will have a grandfather in their lives, I'll promise you that." He smiled hoping to help lighten her mood.

(I'm gonna post the knitting thread soon. Does anyone want Mudstone? His sister Morningrose is already claimed and they're the only two in the litter. Otherwise, I'll make a thread and we can just time skip in this one too after the kits are born. WhitemuzzleSpiderheart @oceanix @samiam Spot)
"Thank you...thank you." She wiped her tears, a smile actually on her face. To hear her family behind her, supporting her was amazing! Deerpaw knew that apprentice pregnancies were discouraged and she'd heard stories--more rumors than anything--of the parent(s) being kicked out of their home by their family due to the disgrace. She'd hoped that wasn't the case, and it wasn't. Her family didn't care! They still loved her. Supported her even! It was a blessing she hadn't expected.
(Sure. I won't make a thread then and we'll just time skip here to where the kits are about 2moons or so. Mudstone looks like his mother but with darker fur and dull blue eyes. Morningrose looks like their father with the same color eyes. Morningpaw, from PI but was from WinterClan when him and Deerpaw were talking, are the kits' father. The kits won't know of or even know their father unless they met him as apprentices. Spiderheart and @blankslate Just get Mudstone and Morningrose added to the joining thread and I'll add them to the page first chance I get.)
Deerpaw's labor had been long and difficult, partially due to her young age and partially because they were her first kits. But now, she had two beautiful, healthy kits to call her own. No matter how they were conceived or who their father was, she knew she and her family would have enough love for the two little ones to prosper into great warriors. The only fault she saw, and she wouldn't even call it a fault, was that Morningkit was a spitting image of her father. It was a grim reminder of the love she'd had and lost so easily. bUt it didn't ake her love her daughter any less or any more than her brother.
Toadstream paced anxiously outside the den while Deerpaw delivered her kits. He then squeezed in after the kits were born to admire his niece and nephew. "They're beautiful, Deerpaw" Toadstream purred, sniffing each of them. "What will you name them?"
