Antkit let out a purr and picked the moss ball back up, her small size causing her to stumble against it as she padded a short distance away from the other kits. Once she was far enough to throw it but not too far that she wouldn't be able to cover the distance between she reared up on her hind legs and as she brought her forelegs back to the ground she released the ball sending it soaring towards Buttercupkit.
Buttercupkit wriggled her haunches as the ball flew to her. She leaped up at it. But instead of catching the flying moss ball, she bumped it with her head, sending it flying to Goldenkit.

Goldenkit smiled to herself. It all worked out in the end, and that's what mattered. Amber eyes tracing the ball as it went from Antkit to Buttercupkit and finally flying towards her. She couldn't do some cool flip, but she remembered the way she watched the younglings at the League play with mossballs. Brutally. She caught it with her teeth, quickly letting it go as she slammed it into the ground. Using that momentum, she grabbed it again and hurled it towards Antkit, her aim better this time.

"That was great Buttercupkit!" Antkit was in awe of the she-kit as she bounced the ball toward Goldenkit with her head, she watched to reach Goldenkit and waited for it to be sent in her direction. As the moss ball closed the distance Antkit reared up on her hind legs and caught the ball between her front paws, sending it flying back toward Buttercupkit as brought her front paws back to the ground.
"Thanks!" Buttercupkit purred at Antkit's compliment. She let out an excited squeak as Goldenkit caught the ball and hurled it toward Antkit. "Great catch to both of you!" She chirped when Antkit had caught the ball. She watched as the ball came to her once more and she leaped up to grab it. However, as she came back down, her ankle rolled and she let out a surprised shriek as pain shot up her leg. She landed with an awkward thud on her side. The ball bounced away from her but she didnt care. Hot pain shot up and down her leg and her ankle throbbed. "Owww!!" She cried, holding out her forepaw in pain.

Antkit was watching the ball soar through the air when Buttercupkits shriek rang in her ears, she looked at the she-cat who was now laying on her side and ran to her. "A-are you okay? What happened?" She was crouched down sniffing at the paw she held out careful not to touch it with her nose.
"I-I dont know...I think I landed on it wrong..." She whimpered, panic starting to rise. What if it was broken? "I think I should go see the medicine cat..."

(You wanna @ the mcs or do you want to skip ahead?)
It all shattered so quick. It always did.
Goldenkit bounded over to Buttercupkit, quickly looking over the paw. It appeared like a sprain, but Goldenkit was no medicine cat. "It's okay. Flyingcolors took care of me, she can take care of you too. Can you walk or do you want me to get her?" She doesn't attempt to move Buttercupkit, resting close to her as to remind her she was there.
"I think I can limp to the medicine den" she squeaked, her voice shaking. She stood up on three wobbly paws and made her way slowly to the medicine cat den.
----------Time Skip ---------
The sun was beginning to decend in the sky by the time Buttercupkit exited the medicine den, her leg wrapped with a twig supporting it. She limped her way over to her friend, her eyes drooping from the poppy seeds. She figured she would let them know what Flyingcolors told her. "Flyingcolors said that it wasnt broken. She said its sprained and bruised and that I should stay off of it for a while." Her jaws parted into a large yawn before she continued. "She gave me some poppy seeds for the pain and they make me sleepy."

Goldenkit waited outside with Antkit, occasionally throwing the ball between the two. When Buttercupkit was finally let out of the medicine cat's den, she got up and went to her, instinctively standing on one side to catch her if she fell, "I'll bet, but at least you can't feel it when you sleep. Besides, now we're injury buddies!" She laughed, shaking her own recovering leg, "Anyway, we should get you back into the nursery, no?"

"We can always play tomorrow after we've all had some rest." It wasn't the most exhausting day, but these kits were a good bit younger than her, so she had to take that into consideration, "We can take it back and bat it around the nursery! Though we'd have to be careful to not do it too hard. Or I can tell you two a story if you'd like?" She offered, she'd seen a lot in her travels. Though most wouldn't be appropriate for kits, she could twist it some to make it more palatable.
Buttercupkit's ears perked in interest at the suggestion of a story. "A story! I would love to hear a story!" Suddenly, she didnt feel so down about being injured. Although she was sleepy, a good story would put her mind at ease and help her sleep peacefully. She limped over to the den, excited to hear Goldenkit's story. Buttercupkit settled down in her nest, her mothers scent was faint. She must still be out in the forest. She guessed her siblings were still outside in the camp playing.
She curled up in her nest and looked expectantly at Goldenkit, her eyes droopy.

Goldenkit's nest was small, one for a single cat. Looking at Buttercupkit's and back to her's, a twinge of sadness pricked her heart. She couldn't let that get her down, and settled into her nest.
"Let's see. Once there was a young warrior by the name of Poppycrumble. She was a bright and strong girl, one always to help others in need. One day, she came across a wounded warrior from another clan. She tried to bring him back to her clan, but they rejected him. Not one to be deterred, Poppycrumble stole from the medicine cats and helped nurse him back to health. They had spent their days apart, but talked all throughout the night. Once the warrior was better, Poppycrumble held the faint hope in her heart that they could stay together. She fell asleep, and prayed to Starclan for her little wish to come true. But when she awoke, he was gone."

"Turns out the tom had been using her. With all the information he'd learned from her, he sold her out to his clan. Before they knew it, their rivals knew their greatest secrets and it was all Poppycrumble's fault. They held a trial to excommunicate her. No one was on her side. It really felt like the end and Poppycrumble only had herself to blame. But just when things seemed hopeless, one cat stood up for her, a she-cat a few moons older than her named Ivymoon. She had a great idea. To use the info Poppycrumble gave as a distraction and chase their enemies off once and for all. So, half the clan went to work strengthening the weak points, while the other half planned the invasion strategy, with Poppy and Ivy in charge. It didn't take long for the other clan to strike, taking the exact ways their spy had said. But every direction they went, they were faced with obstacles. Falling branches, sinkholes, the whole shebang. Eventually, they all congregated back to one group, when Poppycrumble, Ivymoon and the rest of the clan were able to surround them. Poppy would face the spy she loved one more time, giving him a thank you gift. A nice scar across the muzzle. The rival gang was chased out of the forest, never to be seen again. Poppy got a good lecture, but was ultimately allowed to stay and lauded as a half hero. But Poppycrumble still had one definite fan, Ivymoon. And it wasn't long until those familiar feelings bubbled up again. One night, she laid by her and prayed to Starclan that Ivymoon would stay with her forever. When she woke up, Ivymoon was still there and they promised to stay together forever. The end."
"Awwww..." Buttercupkit forced herself to say as sleep gripped her. "That was such a sweet story..." Her jaws stretched into an enormous yawn, showing tiny sharp teeth. "Thank you, Goldenkit" she managed to mumble before sleep too over and her breathing slowed.
-----Time Skip----
The next day, dawn light filtered into the nursery, resting on Buttercupkit's closed eyes. She blinked as the sunlight woke her and burned her eyes. She sat bolt up, shaking away the temporary blindness the sun brought to her. She scanned the nursery, she was the only one there besides her mother. Who nuzzled her affectionately.
"I heard what happened to your paw, sweetie. I'm so sorry your hurt. Would you like some of my mouse?" She offered, pushing the remaining pieces of mouse to her daughter.
Buttercupkit chewed at the mouse, enjoying the rich flavors of the forest. Much better than milk. She had taken a few bites and turned to her mother, "can I go out and play now?"
Windchaser frowned at first then her gaze softened, "just be very careful not to injure yourself again"
Buttercupkit promised to be careful and limped out of the den to find her friends.
Goldenkit held a soft smile as Buttercupkit drifted to sleep. She rolled over in her small nest, drifting to sleep as she thought about how she fit into the nest perfectly.
The next day, she had left early to eat breakfast with Kasdeya, casually talking about the day before. A part of her wished she had taken the nest Kasdeya offered her. But she was adjusting, she'd be fine. It'd be harder to leave when she became an apprentice if she hadn't accustomed herself to this. Waving a bye to Kasdeya, Goldenkit found herself in the middle of camp, sashaying out of the way of the going warriors and apprentices. Spotting Buttercupkit, she waved to her with her tail.
Buttercupkit's eyes lit up when she saw Goldenkit. She made her way over to the other kit as fast as she could without tumbling over from walking on three legs. "Goldenkit!" She greeted with excitement in her voice. She liked Goldenkit and really admired her. "How is your leg?" she asked, thinking about how ironic it was that both of them had an injured leg now.

"Ah, hey Buttercupkit. Looks like you've slept well." Her eyes glanced worryingly at her leg as she struggled to approach her. They'd have to work on walking on three legs together. "Good, bout the same as yesterday. Still can't put any weight on it. How's yours?"
