Saga snarled, biting hard down on her lip and drawing a fresh wave of blood into her mouth. Her teeth would be stained for days, but that was nothing compared to the spurt of crimson liquid that escaped the open wound or the wave of chilling terror at realizing just how hurt she truly was. She wore a brave face in front of the tom, but even she couldn’t keep up the act as she lifted her paw and stared at the missing claw and the blood still oozing from the opening. It was pulsing as if it carried its own heartbeat and new tears welled in her eyes. Oh, how she hated him... How she wanted him to suffer. But, more than anything, how she wanted to leave. To go somewhere even Ramsey couldn’t follow. She glared at him through the tears she couldn’t keep from streaming down her gray and white face, orange eyes seeming to turn into pools of molten gold, precious enough to tempt a dragon, fierce enough to turn it to stone. “One day, dear brother, you will choke on your blood with my name on your lips.”

Hissing, she turned and bolted deeper into the land, leaving a trail of blood behind her before it vanished a quarter of the way to the waterfall, where she would hopefully find some herbs and mend her wound on her own. She couldn’t take it to the vrachi or acecoop; they’d start asking questions.
