Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Where I live it has been incredibly warm, so apologies for the inaccuracies ]
/ MEADOWLARK male | single | silvery brown long-haired pelt with yellow eyesSETTING:camp + TIME: midday
Meadowlark itched at his long fur. Warmth was beginning to spread throughout the lands, and his pelt could tell. Strands of silvery hair flew off of him as he itched it away.
Solsticestar stretched out with a yawn, exiting her den with a groan. She’d always prefer the cold, but the heat would bring more prey and new warriors. She flopped down in front of her den, sighing.
Seablossom spotted the leader, the first time today, along with Meadowlark. "Good evening." The deputy had just seen a patrol off and had been on her way to report to Solsticestar when she spotted the other cat. The report could wait till later. "How have you been Meadowlark? Solsticestar?"
Meadowlark purred in response. "I wish I was doing as well as Solsticestar," he said with a laugh. "Unfortunately, this heat has me shedding all over the place." pointing towards the shining pieces of fur laced around him.
"Hmm, I know the feeling. There's white fur feeling my nest in the nursery. Won't need any moss to keep it comfortable at this rate." Seablossom settled down next to the tom, shaking some fur from her own pelt.
The yellow-coated she-cat looked up at them, not bothering to actually stand like she normally would. "It's too hooooottttt." Her voice was whiny, but had an edge of playfulness.
(If I remember correctly and I'll go look, the river or stream flows through the territory)
Leave camp? Seablososm could feel the anxiety crawling its way in at the ide ao being more than a few tail lengths from the nursery. While the kits were not hers by birth, they were her siblings and she their primary caretaker. The deputy hesitated to answer, not wishing to ruin the fun but also worried about what that would mean for the kits.
(Seablossom has separation anxiety, so I was thinking maybe that they think it's just a phase or something and drag her along anyways and she panics because of how worried she is about her siblings. Especially since she hasn't been diagnosed yet because everyone just thinks it's residue from her father's traumatic death of falling into the gorge before her eyes. Though I wanna do a separate thread with some others in regards to her being diagnosed, if you want in on that later.)
"Did someone say swimming?" Anything to cool off in this heat, and if she could get rid of some of the sweat and fur clinging to her than so be it! Seablossom was on her paws in a matter of moments.
With a twitch of his tail Meadowlark lead the way towards the camp entrance, his claws flexing in their sheaths. He had never led anything before.. Leader of the swimming patrol! he thought to himself with a smile.
"Lead the way. Show us to this sweet relief!" Seablososm was allowed to be odd every once in a while. With all she dealt with, it should have been expected. Between the chaos of the clan, of raising her younger siblings, dealing with Ivorycrown, Applecrisp, and Almondhope, it was amazing the poor she-cat hadn't gone insane yet. But even now, as she moved towards the entrance to camp behind the other two, she felt anxiety creeping up on her at the thought of leaving the kits, Crownglass, and Ivorycrown behind.
Worry gnawed at her heart, but her paws moved forward, hesitantly but still, they moved. She paused, "are...are you should we should go? I mean I know it's hot but what about the kits...and the elders. I'm sure they could use a trip to the river to cool off as well." Seablossom's eyes darted to the nearby nursery where she could hear squeals of play and roughhousing.
