Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
two weeks ago, on the eve of the extravagaynza, the tsar went missing. members of brookclan that were at the event remember leaving, assuming that the leader would stay to clean up and would be back. however, this was not the case, and since, there has been no sign of her. some of the clan has kept hope that kerrigan harlow would be back, including her boyar, everette, who refused to take up the throne. this has left the tsar-ship completely empty. if that was not enough, the vrachii has committed suicide, leaving the group with only pearlypaw, who was promoted only the day before kerrigan's disappearance.
tensions are rising, and quickly. cats are growing antsy quickly as anarchy begins to settle in. the true character of the monarchy, which is built on distrust and ambition, is starting to show. paranoia is beginning to grow. tensions between cats who believe kerrigan will be back and cats who want to assume the position themselves begin to mount, and an instability is rocking through the group. suspicion has also grown rapidly, as cats begin to point fingers. fights are becoming common between the cats, particularly those who are devistated by the assumed loss of the tsar.

important things to note for this thread -- your cats may be very loyal to kerrigan, or they could be ready to move on. that is completely up to you. however, if you could make this clear by filling out this form at the beginning of your first post, that would be incredibly helpful for organization. cats who want to wait for kerrigan: cats against kerrigan: cats neutral to the cause: cats who could be sacrificed in the plot:
-- your cats may also be quite ready to seize the throne for themselves. feel free to have any of your cats who are against kerrigan try to seize power themselves. (they will be smashed, or they may be recruited. time will tell) -- as the title says, this thread is anarchy. it is meant to be unstructured and wild, with eighteen different things going on at once. every two to three days, though, i will post on this thread to say a new day has started. i will also note what key events will happen during this day. whether or not the RP gets to these plot points, they will have occurred by the end of the day in cannon. i will try to facilitate so that each event happens in rp, but interest can make it so some things happen and others do not. note that as each day passes, the situation will become more and more dire. cats will become more and more desperate. -- i thoroughly encourage cats to fight and make each others' lives miserable and make alliances with other cats and scheme. -- you guys are all more than welcome to create plot points. maybe your cat is seriously hurt on day two, or killed on day three. maybe your cat steals prey from another family. these are all encouraged ! this is pretty much anything goes, and if you take things too far, i will simply message you and tell you to tone it down c: -- there will be places to volunteer for your cats to be a major part in the days, so keep an eye out ! -- the fun of this is meant to be that no one really knows whats going on, except the cats who are pulling the strings behind the scenes. however, i understand if this doesn't work for you. i encourage everyone to just sort of go with the flow, but if you want an idea of where things are going, feel free to follow this thread. -- some plot points, particularly the vote at the end, will take place in a thread that will be linked here.
ideally, this will last between a week and two weeks, depending on interest. by the end of it, a new royal family will be crowned.
IMPORTANT EVENTS : -- the vrachii has just committed suicide, so there is not a trained medical cat for brookclan right now. -- cynder, a cat very close to kerrigan, is leading another patrol sweep to look for clues as to where the tsar has disappeared to. -- the meeting is occurring -- there is a rise in dissenters, who believe that if the boyar will not step up, someone should. -- cats are beginning to wonder what is next. -- there is a general distrust of rival families, particularly the e'clair family.

TASMAN WATCHED the general gathering space. She had just returned from visiting with her siblings. There was a part of her that was unsure that they supported the plans that were going on in her head, but she was doing what she was called to do. She had promised her father that one day, she would avenge those lost. No one had particularly expected her to ever make good on this promise. This was where cats who underestimated her were brutally wrong. She had made the promise in blood, and was fully intended to keep it.
The calico she-cat sighed, before settling into a seated position. The E'clair siblings had kept a low profile the last few weeks, simply because it wouldn't be impossible that they were a part of it all. As much as she wished she was, Tasman E'Clair could take no responsibility over the disappearance. It was just a fortunate accident for her. She let out a sigh, before curling her tail around herself, laying in wait for her next interrogation.

Lakeveil and Blazehowl sat together on the far side of the gathering place, speaking quietly with the remaining members of their house. The day had been a whirlwind thus far. Springlockedgrave had been found in the early hours of the morning by the pair, and through the combined efforts of Pearlypaw, and the Sterling line, the conclusion of the death had been suicide. Though it was an outcome none of them had wanted, it, unfortunately, wasn't all that surprising. The Vrachii had long since been a victim of her own mind, and despite efforts to make her feel better, there was little anyone could do for a cat unwilling to help themselves. Not that the thought helped anyone.
Springlockedgrave's litter, for the time being, was being housed in the nursery, cared for by the cats there until they were at least weaned, though they'd spend the days with their family. Silentheart had already made up her mind to raise them, and let her family know of the decision. It was the least she could do. Of course, the older feline's mind was in turmoil. It hadn't been so long ago that some of her kits returned, only for her to lose the one who'd always been there. Her mind twisted and writhed with thoughts that crowded out rational thinking, heart breaking at the loss of a child, and worse yet, by Springlockedgrave's own paw. She should have noticed, should have done something more. The Vrachii had been better, surprisingly, since around the time Kerrigan disappeared. That should have tipped her off to something being wrong... The gray feline curled her tail around her paws, the head of house utterly silent as her family spoke. It had only been an hour since they'd buried her, and the blind Dvorayne's eyes were still red from crying. "I'm stepping down as Head of House Sterling." Her words were soft, though it brought all conversation to a standstill. Since they'd joined the Monarchy, the she-cat had always lead the family with a steady paw, and for her to give it up so suddenly was world shattering, at least for the little family. Springlockedgrave had been the heir to the title, by virtue of being Silentheart's eldest child, but with her now gone, the decision was left up in the air. Would one of her other kits inherit? Would one of Springlockedgrave's?
Aylik E'clair stood to the side of the gathering place opposite Tasman, weaving through the crowds towards her as though he hadn't just been speaking with her a short time before. He had a lot to think about lately, and had been keeping out of the public eye as much as possible, though that hardly stopped him from being a target of the Harlow's merely for his family name.

wants to wait for kerrigan: littlestep against kerrigan: cypria
The air tastes like fear and tightly-coiled panic -- any moment now it will boil over and chaos will flow out through the territory and seep into the cracks in the earth. Cypria can feel it, prickling at the breeze like a thunderstorm waiting beyond the horizon. It feels like opportunity, promise, all the puzzle pieces that are needed to slip between the crumbling Empire and the debris and take the crown for herself. No royal lineage, but what do bloodlines matter now? Anything can happen. The fur at the back of her neck quivers, and it's everything she can do to keep it flat. This anarchy is infectious.
But uprisings need time, and would-be usurpers need patience; prod at one little brick too soon and the whole castle could come falling down. She doesn't intend to be one of the cats lost to the ruins. All her life has been leading to this -- to the moment when the throne is empty and the world is afraid. Her heartbeat thuds in her ears, slow and quiet. One, two, three.
Rising to her paws, she pads slowly over to Tasman, eyes hooded and calm, and weaves around her. "You are playing a very dangerous game," she murmurs quietly in Tasman's ear, watching her face out of the corner of her eye for a moment before slipping her gaze up to study the other cats in the gathering place. Her voice remains soft and low, all pale skies and melting snow. "I want you to understand, Tasman: I'm not interested in what happened to the Tsar. What business is it of mine, after all, who did or did not murder or lie or betray? But I am interested in what happens to you. I saw the way you looked at Kerrigan, and I can see the way you look around at them all now -- all that waiting. All that wanting. There's only so much time one can spend in a collar before it begins to chafe." Cypria glances back at Tasman out of the corner of her eye before stepping away and taking a seat beside her, wrapping her tail around her paws and watching the other cats with a calm, patient gaze that just verges on cold. She smiles faintly, a wispy little look that's all frost and soon. "Coups are such a messy business. Should you ever need a little loyalty, I'd sooner align myself with you than with a fanciful young thing with no trace of noble breeding."
Watching Aylik approach, she stretches out her legs and prepares to leave Tasman to him.

Tasman had expected the first person to arrive to her to be Aylik. After all, she had told Lev that she wouldn't leave her brother's side if that meant that he protected their sisters. It was an unfortunate reality that she had already broken that promise. She was surprised, then, to hear the voice of a female in her ear. It sent a cold chill up her spine; after all, she had been completely on edge as of late. Now that her plan had entered the air, Tasman had wondered if the trees had ears.
"Who is to say I'm playing a game at all?" she meowed back, her voice smooth, although very quiet. It was very bold of Cypria to come close to a cat who had a target on her back. A small smile flicked at the corners of her lips, before falling completely. It was important not to show her emotions for too long, lest suspicion of her rose any further. "I wish I could say that I wasn't interested in what happened to her, either, but the reverse is true, it seems." Her tail flicked casually. "The king of our game of chess is missing, and that doesn't seem ideal for the success of it all." She flicked her tail once more, before turning her head towards the cat for the first time.
"Perhaps I am waiting, waiting for the moment that all hell breaks lose." Her voice had a dark undertone to it now. Things would break loose very quickly, if she had her way. "But, after all, aren't we all? Waiting for our knight in shining armor, or for the world to crash and burn." Would Tasman be both, the knight and the catalyst for the end? Only time would tell. Cypria was a smart cat, Tasman realized in the moments of talking to her. She was absolutely right, it was only time before the collar chafed.
The she-cat then let out a deep purr, one that entered from the very center of her chest. "Now, you are the one playing a dangerous game," she chided, "aligning yourself with Public Enemy Number One." She let out a laugh at the thought. Truly, she had no involvement in anything, but the cats around here were stupid, fleeting creatures at times. She glanced away from her, letting the words settle in the air between them as Aylik grew closer. With a subtle gesture, she told her brother that she had perhaps found someone to be on their side. Looking back to Cypria, Tasman's tail flicked. "And what, pray tell, would such an action do for you? What would you expect as retribution?"

"It was suicide. It was not your fault."
These words repeated like gun shots in her head. Was she trying to convince herself? It just so happened that the Vrachii died right after the young she-cat was appointed Acecoop. Now, the worry and shock was as clear as nettle on the crippled feline's face. Pearlypaw flitted across camp, back and forth, tending to the few wounds she could. She had recently brought some herbs to the nursery to help with extra milk flow for Springlockedgrave's kits since there were more mouths without a mother. Their innocent faces brought searing pain deep into her chest. What if she was the reason? Her sky blues found their way to the E'clair siblings, wondering how they were fairing. It was not a secret that most of the clan watched their every move believing that they had something to do with Tsar Kerrigan's disappearance. Honestly, she did not know who was responsible, but one thing was clear: Brookclan needed a leader. Pearlypaw sighed as she dropped the bundle of herbs she was carrying. This was all too much...
Dinara's eyes searched Blazehowl's. What were his thoughts at the moment? She was always intrigued by him. She stood near Tasman now, wondering what the future held for them. The eyes that scorched into her back made her uncomfortable and she found herself wrapping her tail around her side as if to protect the little lives hidden in her. It was complete chaos.

"Love, I haven't seen you this upset since the first day we met," came the soft voice of a she-cat as she padded up to Pearlypaw. There was a sadness in her eyes about the situation, but more clearly in her gaze was a concern for her first adoptive daughter. "Is there something that I could do to help?" Smallfire doubted that there was. She understood how her daughter felt, she was almost sure. She had felt the same way when Littleriver died, as if it was all her fault, even though there was no way that fate could be changed.... The tiny black and white she-cat, still, would offer. She found her tail wrapping protectively around the side of Pearlypaw, an embrace that told her that it would be alright, even toug she wasn't so sure herself.
There was an aggravation in Cynder's eyes. Her claws had dug welts into the earth, her body ached with exertion. If the Tsar had been gone for two weeks, it had been two weeks and a day since the blue-grey she-cat had had a night's sleep that was uninterrupted. She was wearing herself to the bone. Exhaustion was doing nothing for her demeanor, either. She was tired and on edge, ready to sink her teeth into something, anything. She paced around the entrance of the camp. With each day that passed, her desperation only intensified. Where was Kerrigan?

At the appearance of another cat near his sister, Aylik's step quickened, though he was a touch too late to arrive, as the she-cat appeared to finish speaking and was prepared to leave, though he did catch Tasman's response to the she-cat. Of course, her silent signal intrigued him, and for a moment, burnt golden eyes flickered towards Cypria. He knew not what she'd said to convince his sister so quickly, but the tom's gaze lingered on her, committing this feline to his memory, knowing he would never be able to forget her face. The gray and white cat was quiet as he arrived, sitting himself protectively at his sister's side. Tasman may have been convinced, but Aylik wasn't, not by a long shot. He didn't know this cat, not really, and therefore couldn't judge her intentions at a glance, which he found supremely frustrating. Still, he kept his quiet, listening in, but adding nothing, his gaze turning once more to the cats of BrookClan, as though uninterested in whatever Tasman and Cypria may be talking about.
With their grandmother's announcement, the entirety of the Sterling House's cats head snapped to Silentheart, wide eyes and open mouths revealing the surprise of many at this new revelation. Lakeveil and Blazehowl, for their parts, were far calmer than the rest, though even they exchanged glances, not having expected such drastic measures. If anything, both had expected a new heir to be named, not for her to step down and leave the title to someone else. The only cat, who perhaps didn't look surprised was Cesare, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous light, hoping to be chosen.
Of course, Silentheart wasn't insane. She knew Cesare wanted the rank, and would never personally hand it to him. Even so, she had already made her decision. Lakeveil and Blazehowl would have been Springlockedgrave's heirs, and she'd essentially raised the two as her own. She knew them, had spent so much time with them that the choice was easy. Raising her tail to silence any potential protests, she continued, her voice hoarse. "Lakeveil will be the new Head of Sterling House, end of story. I need to... focus on Springlockedgrave's kits, and it's about time that someone younger stepped up." Now, Silentheart was in good health, and had no intentions of giving into her grief, but even so, she wasn't wrong. Her muzzle was flecked with silver, and she couldn't keep up with the kits as much as she used to. In any other clan, she'd have been an elder, and no one would contest her retirement, least of all in the wake of her eldest child's death.
Lakeveil's head dipped in a nod, though the she-cat appeared almost as though she intended to protest for a moment. "I hope I will make you proud." She answered. Of the twins, she was the more charismatic and open, a cat who was easy to trust, but intelligent and vicious in battle.
Blazehowl nodded ever so slightly in approval, though he too seemed to take the news with a solemn expression. The large orange tom could feel eyes on him, however, and his gilded gaze drifted away from his family to meet Dinara's eyes, if only for a moment, his head tilting ever so slightly sideways as he watched her for a few heartbeats. The tom's expression was impassive, though there was a softness to it, the corner of his mouth tilting up into the smallest hint of a smile meant only for her, almost amused at catching her looking at him.

Asya waited from afar, looking at the commotion. She couldn't comprehend the commotion that was going on. She stood off nearby her siblings as she listened to the confusion.
Sephora quickly padded up to Paradise, worry in her eyes. "Have they found her yet?" The she-cat had admired the tsar every since she had joined BrookClan.

"All things crash and burn," Cypria replies quietly, tail tip twitching in slow, even flicks. "It is what can be rebuilt from the ashes that interests me." She tilts her head to the side, watching Tasman out of the corner of her eye for a long moment, before offering a faint wisp of a smile and turning her head back to the other cats. "One would have to be a fool not to recognise that you are the most likely candidate for the new Tsar, should the unfortunate day arise and Kerrigan not return. An old family name, and one with enough fear behind them to persuade most dissenters that it would be in their best interests to keep themselves humble and quiet. The ones that don't listen -- well. What revolution has ever ended peacefully when there are crowns in the offering?" She flicks her ear and wraps her tail neatly around her paws. "And what's a little bloodshed in the name of order? Always the simplest way to rid oneself of toxins and nuisances, I've found."
At Tasman's question, she glances back at her and lets her gaze wander over to where Aylik has settled beside his sister. She watches him for a few heartbeats, as if to tell him my dealings are not with you; there can only be one Tsar, and I've thrown in my hat in the ring with her. A dangerous stance to take, perhaps, already trying to wedge herself between siblings of old, noble blood; but she's learned that where families are concerned, they more often than not simply hold back the one truly meant for greatness in the guise of loyalty and devotion. A thread of nasty, possessive rivalry curdles in her gut like sour milk. He can give you love and protection, she thinks. He can give you the fear and prestige of an old name. But I can make you a Queen. Dragging her gaze back to Tasman, she offers a small, thin smile. It feels cold around the edges. "All I ask," she replies gently, "is a place by the throne once the dust settles."
[@ian i'm kinda goin off what you mentioned about someone trying to infiltrate tasman's family?? and sorta try and isolate tasman from her siblings bc cypria wants the power to herself as a queenmaker and advisor if tasman manages to become tsar, and she's never fully understood the importance of families to the monarchy, which is like, her main weakness? she underestimates their bond? and then eventually it all comes back to bite her?? idk i'm into ittttt, feel free to shoot her tf down if u or honeystorm aren't lmao c; <3]
Littlestep trots through the assembled cats warily, darting out of the way of paws and tails and looking around with big, anxious eyes. No leadership means anarchy, she thinks, which means civil war, which means bloodshed, which means death. Her teeth ache from where she's grinding them together. Tight, nervous anger flares in her chest at the thought of Kerrigan - dead, or lost, or deserted, it's so selfish to leave a Clan that needs you. Half of her hopes she never returns; she doesn't think she'd be able to stand the sight of her.
With her nerves too tightly wound, almost buzzing under her skin, she doesn't see Cynder until it's too late; Littlestep stumbles into her, inadvertently treading on her tail when she tries to stop, and hurries back a few steps, staring at her with wide, worried eyes that are at odds with the instinctive snarl creeping around her teeth. (No). (Don't). (She's mourning). (Be quie--) "Watch it," she spits before she can stop herself, lashing her tail with more anxiety than anger.

The tom met Cypria's gaze with his own, expressionless and unwavering as he felt her gaze on him. Despite the apparent disinterest, the air seemed to shift ever so slightly, almost as if there had been no change at all, but still it was there. He didn't trust this feline, not one little bit. Now, however, the words exchanged couldn't be taken back, and Tasman couldn't afford to turn Cypria into an enemy, at least not until her sister's position had been secured. That is, if his littermate noticed the change at all. If not, well, he was still tasked with protecting his sister, and he'd just have to make sure Tasman didn't slip away from him in the meantime.
Paradise turned to Sephora, a rare look in her eye that showed her worry. "If she had been, there'd have been an announcement." The Kadet replied. Her mother was missing, and although they'd never really gotten along, she still didn't want anything to have happened to Kerrigan.
[ i don't mind it, but i can't guarentee that it'll be like successful, like honey says. when i originally hthought like infiltration, i was thinking like tries to become one like one of the family, but i think someone trying to separate her from like the only cats she cares about could be super interesting ! ]
"Am I, now?" she meowed, a hint of amusement in her voice. Of course, she had always thought that she was, but that was because she had always planned to be. She had known somewhere deep in her heart that she, Tasman E'clair, would be the next Tsar. Hearing those words out loud, though, absolutely delighted her, proved her hypothesis. The idea that she had enough fear behind her was a new one, though. In all honestly, the feline believed that if a member of the Harlow house truly wanted the position, she would have to fight tooth and nail for it. The same was true with the family of Lakeveil, had Lakeveil and she not been in cahoots. After all, there was more of each family than there were in the pentagon that created her family.
"I like how you think, hmm," she meowed after a moment. Chaos and bloodshed were things that were not alien to the dedicate of Tiveronah. Of course, there was a part of her that couldn't exist without order, but more of her thrived on disorder. A state of disarray, those moments were moments that Tasman thrived. She manipulated those moments with ease, which made situations like this absolutely charming for her.
She then noticed the glance that Cypria gave to Aylik. There was a part of her that instantly bristled at the thought that the she-cat desired to step between Tasman and her right hand man. The entire group knew that this would be nearly impossible. It wasn't only that the E'clair siblings were close, but Aylik was the cat in which she trusted with her soul. She noticed the change in the air, and a part of her instantly wanted to shut down this cat. Her tail brushed against the base of her brother's spine almost instinctively, as if communicating to him without words. The siblings all knew that she was the rightful heir. None of them would question that. She was the firstborn of the E'clair household, the leader of the siblings. Was this what Cypria was worried about? Or was there something more?
She let the thoughts fade after another moment's pause. To Cypria, it would have seemed like the she-cat was simply pondering her suggestion. Tasman was good at hiding her thoughts from cats who did not speak her language, the language that she had crafted between her siblings. This was partially out of necessity. The E'Clairs had a target on their backs;it was critical to know how to hide what went on in her head.
"I suppose that can be arranged," she meowed with a flick of her tail. She knew that her siblings would take their places as the principle council to the throne the day she took it, but what harm could it be to have another ? After all, it wasn't even if they were agreeing that she would be a Cyd. "Prove your worth to me," she meowed, "and I will promote you when the day comes as I deem fit." Cryptecho looked to her grandmother, and then slid her gaze over to her sister. She didn't know what to feel. She was still caught in the vortex of suffering that had been inflicted by her mother's death. She then looked back to her grandmother, offering a soft nod. If this was how things would be, at least it wasn't Cesare who took the lead. "Congratulations," she meowed, one of her first words that didn't crack when she spoke. Lua found her way over to Sephora and Paradise, her body shaking slightly. She had developed a nervous twitch in the last few days, mostly because without the guidance of her mother, the she-cat's very core was shaking. Where was her mother? "I hope they find her soon..." she meowed, her voice trailing. Cynder's eyes snapped to attention as Littlestep ran into her. Anger flashed in her gaze, the kind of anger that was borderline hateful. Her lips curled into an almost snarl as her paw slammed on the cat's shoulder. "Or what, huh? I'm pretty sure you were the one who ran into me," she growled. The cat was normally quick to anger, and under the circumstances, she was even angrier. Her own tail thrashd through the air as she lashed out against her, eyes narrowed into slits.
"Maybe you should learn manners, punk?" Her words were ice, which was a little bit strange for her. In general, she was not necessarily friendly, but she was not normally mean spirited. She was chaotic and impulsive, yes, but not physically violent. Sure, she'd gotten a cat stuck in a tiger trap or two, and she may or may not have smacked a cat out, but there was a ferocity in her words that she was normally far too casual to have. Had the joker truly cracked?
He was watching. Always watching. Often times he was compared to that of a hawk. The large tom stuck to the shadows, feeling unwilling and rather lazy to even attempt to get closer. Plus, is something we’re to happen, he could easily make his way across the camp in the blink of an eye. Lev watched as another feline approached his sister, eyes never wavering. His muscles flexed slightly, as if it were sending the cat a warning of sorts. Then Aylik arrived at her side, and his eyes went searching for his other siblings. The girls were his main concern. He knew they could care for themselves, but that didn’t keep him from being their protector, in the end.

Pearlypaw could feel her tension ebb as her mother comforted her. Smallfire was probably the only cat who could see right through the young cat's cracks and sorrows. She also knew every way to help ease the anxiety. "I just don't know how to help them..." She sighed, letting her gaze sweep solemnly across her clanmates. She wished she had all the knowledge to ease their worries as well as her own. Her eyes held still on Springlockedgrave's family. She would especially take away their pain if she could. Her thoughts began to wander again as she watched them talk. Did they blame her as much as she blamed herself? Maybe they should...
Dinara felt a blush rise to her cheeks and she turned her head to keep the smile from cracking on her maw. Cats would probably question her ability to appear happy at that moment. Honestly, she didn't know why she cared what they thought. Her eyes shifted over to her other siblings. Ah, that was why. She couldn't bare the thought of more cats blaming them for that Kerrigan's disappearance. The black and white feline let out a little huff of annoyance.

At his littermate's reaction, Aylik calmed in an instant, though the tom hardly appeared as if he'd changed at all, eyeing Lev a moment as his brother caught his eye, then turning his gaze back to Tasman and Cypria. While he most certainly didn't like the idea of this cat having any close association with his sister, he wasn't about to contest her decision, least of all in front of the cat he wanted to question. He'd let Lev know to watch out for the she-cat later, and with their combined efforts, he supposed they'd be able to manage on their own. If there was anyone he was worried for it was Asya. Of any of them, she was perhaps the most prone to being taken advantage of, in his opinion. Cypria seemed just like the cat to try and exploit his youngest sibling's naivety.
Paradise nodded slowly, her gaze cast around, lingering for a moment on Lev and then Dinara before returning to the two she-cats. She'd heard rumors that they'd been involved, though there didn't seem to be any confirmation on that as of yet. Still, it was hard not to jump to conclusions when her mother was on the line. "Me too, Lua." The calico agreed softly.
DAY FIVE note : i'm skipping a head a few days because i had a two week absence. had things gone to plan, this would be day five
IMPORTANT EVENTS : -- the boyar has left the group, unable to handle the stress. -- a body of a clanmate is found murdered. the e'clair family has framed everette for the murder by placing a tuft of black fur by the body. everette was not the murderer, but because he has left the group, he is not here to plead his innocence. -- the cat who found the body will be entering the camp. -- elisio, the head of the harlow family, has left with cynder to find kerrigan, leaving the harlow house without a head of house. it is becoming clear quickly that the harlow house is falling apart, and the e'clairs are using this to suggest they are not fit to lead. -- cats who want the throne outside of the e'clair family are starting to make their cases for why they should be the next tsar.
[ I have one cat and he's against Kerrigan. Also Honeystorm he strikingly resembles his grandfather Leonid who was Nadias cousin. So seeing him might ring some bells for her. Also I just used a random cat for the murdered. I can replace it with someones actual character if they'd like. ]
Bell like laughter rang across the clearing, tinkling into the air like the sound of broken glass shattering across the floor. Jarring in the early morning, drawing eyes and ears, irritation and curiosity. For what was there to laugh at in a time like this. But Changeling thought things were just becoming interesting, the tension he had carried on his shoulders upon his arrival was ever loosening as the days went by with no sign of Kerrigan. As the families grew increasingly distressed, knowing their time of waiting was coming to an end. Soon sides would have to be picked, lines drawn in the sand. The snowshoe tom thought he might just help things along as well. But first things first.
"Skywillow has been murdered!" He declared, casting crystalline eyes across those awake and peering into the shadows of the dens to look for those who might be awake but simply watching. When he felt he had an appropriate audience he continued, the tom always one who lived for a show. "I would like to say as well, it's not outside the realm of possibility that Evertte could have been the murderer. There are tufts of black fur around the body and within her claws."
Plopping down to sit in the middle of camp, the pretty tom curled his tail around dainty paws and waited for questions. Or for another to take action, maybe to go retrieve the body. He thought of doing it himself, but he hadn't quite been up to that amount of labor so early in the morning. Not after barley getting his beauty rest due to the distressed whispers of the others in the den. Really, it was like they hadn't realized the sort of place they lived in. If another asked he would claim he didn't want to disturb the scene of the crime.
This was the monarchy! And as a descendant of one of the original families, of one of the original banished cats, well he had one thought towards the precedings. Let the games begin!
Tasman let her face fall into something like concern, but she was not going to be the first one to take control of the situation. The calico did fluff out, though, instinctually making sure that everyone could see that she didn't lack a single piece of her long fur. She glanced around to note the locations of her siblings, offering each of them a blink when she made eye contact. This was the next phase of the process. Frame the throne for a murder. And it had worked so effortlessly. Of course, she knew that Changeling didn't seem the most sympathetic to the throne. Perhaps the immediate accusation wouldn't have been so immediate had he been a supporter of the former crown. This was an excellent turn of events that even she could not have predicted.
A gasp was heard from deeper in the crowd from a small she-cat. Lua looked absolutely shocked at the assertion. Uncle Everette couldn't have killed a cat, could he? "There's gotta be other cats with black fur, though!" the adopted daughter of Kerrigan meowed in a nervous tone. "Right?"
[ Azazel would like to take the throne for himself. And is determined to have his crown. ]
"Other cats with black fur that have conveniently disappeared?" Changeling challenged, words the honey before a sting. He eyes Everette's niece with blatant sympathy while feeling a thick layer of distaste for her naive outlook. Truthfully Changeling had no idea who had committed the murder, but there was no one to prove anything either way. And it was funner to throw out a name he knew would spark a flame than it was to just announce a boring old murder. There had been a too little chaos for his taste. The tom had thought they would fall into bloodshed sooner, but it seemed they might need a little push.
Azazel of the Lamia House cast sharp amber eyes towards those around him. The sleek white furred tom shifting on his paws and moving through the gathered cats, ears catching their whispers and piecing together their thoughts. Curious as to how the tides were turning, wondering if now would be a time best to insert himself into the script. But thought it best to wait, just a little longer. Unsure yet who he was up against in his bid for the crown, but knowing there must be those also vying for the same position as he; the position of the next Tsar.
