"Well, I think you should visit Graythorn when we get back just to make sure you're alright," Bonefang meowed concern evident in his voice. He picked up the rabbit and started back to the camp.

Bonefang kept his eye on Lionesspaw as they traveled back to the camp. Of course conversation was difficult because of the prey he carried in his mouth so he remained silent. After some time the camp's entrance came into view and he felt as if a great weight was lifted from his shoulders. He was concerned for the apprentice and figured it was his fault she was placed in harm's way in the meadow - whether it was true or not that's how he felt. "There," he meowed after he placed the rabbit on the fresh kill pile. "We're home."
Lionesspaw placed her prey on top of Bonefangs and let out a sigh. "Yes we are. I'm gonna go see Graythorn now." She meowed as she padded in the direction of the Medicine Cat's Den.

"Good," Bonefang replied. "I probably should have him check me over too. I'll come with you." Being a senior warrior he knew that even scratches could become infected, especially if received from another animal.
Graythorn was sleeping in a patch of sunlight in front of his den. He had spent the morning dealing with complaints from the elders and seeing to the needs of the queens and kits in the nursery. He finally got a chance to rest his eyes.

Graythorn let out a slight hiss of annoyance as he blinked open his eyes and saw the two cats standing before him. He guessed by their wounds and the scent of fox on their coats what had happened. "Can't you stay out of trouble?" he asked Lionesspaw, rising to his feet. "You left my den only a quarter moon ago from those dog wounds."

Graythorn relaxed his attitude a bit. Lionesspaw was actually one of his best patients. "Sorry I was so sharp with you," he meowed. He walked around her examining her wounds. "You're right, just scratches. I'll rub some marigold on them to help prevent any infections from starting."
"You might want to check her head," Bonefang meowed. "She wasn't thinking straight after the encounter with the fox."

Graythorn ran his paw gently over Lionesspaw's head. Almost immediately he felt a bump centered in back of her head. "I bet that's tender," he meowed. "Ice is the best thing for bumps but as it's not Leafbare yet, there's none around. A piece of moss soaked in cold water will have to suffice."
"I'll bring you one," Bonefang volunteered.
"Thanks, and I'll check your wounds too when you get back." Then turning back to Lionesspaw he said, "Lay down in this nest. I'll treat your wounds until he comes back." He then went to his herb store to get some marigold.

Graythorn came back with some marigold and he chewed it into a pulp. Afterward he placed it onto Lionesspaw's wounds. "Not as bad as last time," he meowed. "And that's a good thing."
Bonefang returned with a dripping wad of moss in his mouth. "Set it over here," Graythorn instructed the senior warrior. "Then wait in that nest there. I'll get to your wounds when I'm done here."

"Not if you don't want to be promoted soon," Graythorn agreed. After finishing treating her wounds, he instructed Lionesspaw to lay down. "I want you to lay the sore spot on your head on this piece of moss Bonefang brought in for you. It'll help take down the swelling." He positioned the wet moss for her.

After sometime a dark ginger tabby kit wandered into the medicine den. Graythorn had left the camp on some errand so the kit took this chance to explore. Immediately he spotted the sleeping apprentice so he went over to see what was wrong with her. After seeing she had a few scratches, Crimsonkit became bored. A flying moth caught his attention so he began jumping around the den in an attempt to catch it. In doing so, he inadvertently stepped on Lionesspaw's tail.
Lionesspaw was unaware that a kit had wandered into the medicine cat's den until she felt a small weight on her tail. She lifted her head immediately, ears flat, eyes sleepily blinking. A small groan that should have been a growl escaped her throat. " What are you doing? " She asked looking at the kit. "You shouldn't be in here unless your sick or need something."
