With one final leap, Crimsonkit was able to catch the moth between his front two paws. He came back down, dropping the moth onto the den's dirt floor. "I'm hunting!" he replied as if it was the most normal thing to do, hunt in the medicine den. "And I caught my prey, too," he added proudly. He wasn't bothered at all concerning Lionesspaw's admonition about needing a good reason for being in the medicine den. "It's a baby bird. Are you hungry?" he asked holding the dead moth up by one of it's wings.
Lionesspaw let out a purr. "Well caught, you should have it. I already ate." She answered the kit. "I would suggest leaving though unless you want Graythorn biting your ear or tail off for disrupting his den."
A totoiseshell head peeked into the den. "Erm, excuse me, but is Graythorn here?" Sunpaw asked quietly, her blue eyes darting back and forth nervously.
"I... I'm not sure. My neck is bothering me. It's really tender where... you know, where my collar was." She looked down at her paws as though upset she'd reminded her clanmate of her origins. The collar had nearly killed her as she got bigger and it dug into her neck. If she hadn't found SummerClan, she would probably have died.
"Oh. Ok. Ummm. Let me think. I think that Graythorn has some Aloe Vera. I'll see if he does."
I said as I scooped my way across the den floor and inspected each herb before finding the leaves I needed. I grabbed two and scooted back to my Clan-mate.
"Here, this should help."
I told her as I chewed the leaves in my mouth and then applied it to her neck.
Sunpaw stretched her long neck out to give him better access to the irritation. There was bruising all about her neck, and on one side, there was an open wound where the collar had been imbedded. The bleeding had since stopped, but the area around it was red and puffy. "The patrol that found me bit off my collar, but it certainly left its mark..." she murmured.
"Yes, I had this strange feeling that there was something more then what I was living, so I decided one day to venture out and try to do some hunting. I got into a fight with one of our Clan-mates before I could even leap to get the prey. I was told to leave, so I did. A few more days and I left my two-legs and came into the territory where a Patrol found me. They accepted me in and here I am now."
She said with a smile and soft sigh as she remembered her days when she first joined.
(Sorry, one of those days!) Sunpaw nodded. "I see. I was chased out of mine. I'd just been taken from the cage-place, but within a day, my housefolk's older cat made it clear I couldn't stay... He chased me out." She rasped her tongue over her chest in embarassment. "Not really the most noble story, I know..."
"That would be amazing! There's so much to learn, after all!" Sunpaw flicked her ear gratefully. "I don't suppose you'd be willing to help me with my hunting crouch?
"Okay then. Just let me know if I hurt you, okay? Graythorn will have my fur if I hurt you." She added before padding forward. Using both her forepaws and her muzzle to gently stretch the leg bit by bit, she kept an ear out for any sign of pain.
