Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. Breezestep hissed. If anyone should be upset by this, it was her. "I don't have much of a choice, do I?" she snapped back. The queen followed the warrior code - at the end of the day, if she could not change her leader's mind, she had to follow the ruling.
Her whiskers pinned back and tail lashed in anger, but with visible effort the queen bowed her head to her leader. "Then take him and keep him safe," she muttered through clenched teeth, her gaze flashing a warning at the leader. Or else.
The grey and white tom looked around as they left, with far less energy than last time, his mind still back in that den. He looked up at her, then hesitated, unsure what to say.
"I know." Pondkit shrugged. "She'll forget in a few days."
It had felt wrong, to see his mother so upset, but he knew it wouldn't last. She had her remaining kits to look after, and his father probably didn't even remember his name. Too busy fawning over Firepaw.
Pondkit considered this seriously. Then: "The apprentice's den. I don't... I don't know how Momma would feel if I came back to the nursery," he admitted.
