Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"We're not quite into Newleaf yet. You might jinx us declaring it so boldly." Eternalstar cautioned. "The weather is always an unpredictable thing and it would be a shame if we were to get another cold front that killed off even more plants than this brutal winter already has."
Scatteredstar laughed. "I already have to alter my words enough so as not to offend other cats. I'm not going to allow something like that to make me bite my tongue as well!" She curled her ginger and white tail about herself. "You know, I did think of something we could use help with."
"...oh? That didn't take long." Eternalstar laughed, though her eyes were carefully hiding a shrewd edge. She knew it couldn't be anything to major if Scatteredstar had only just thought of it, and still within the first conversation. If she had to guess she assumed it would be something simply like help with prey or even to borrow some herbs.
Scatteredstar gritted her teeth somewhat at what she had to reveal, but they needed a solution before it was too late. "As you likely know, our Clan is only just coming back together. As such, we find ourselves with no medicine cat. My request is that once we give a youngster who is suitable, they be allowed to come train with your medicine cat. The details we can hash out separately, but for now, tell me: Can we make this happen?"
"My medicine cat can train yours. In fact Fawnheart would be eager to share her knowledge, she is a very kind hearted she-cat." Eternalstar conceded easily, knowing her words were true. It was something she had fought about with the other often, fearing that Fawnheart was almost too soft. But that fact made it easy to offer her help to Scatteredstar. "If it's easier I could even send her to your clan, as we'll have Whitepaw with us and you could maybe use Fawnheart's services more." It would also help her escape the headaches she got from arguing with her medicine cat.
Scatteredstar purred gratefully. "Thank you. Is there something in particular you'd like in return?" She asked carefully. "If we can give it without risking ourselves, we shall. As is, if you are attacked, send your fastest cat to us to ask for aide. I'll let my cats know to expect them."
"That promise of aide is enough for now." Eternalstar smiled softly, "and perhaps a promise for us to meet regularly. As I said early I enjoy a conversation partner that I don't have to act so much like a leader with. And perhaps while we speak of medicine cats we can speak of sharing herbs if we need them. Springclan hasn't had any sickness this winter thank starclan, but it's a nice assurance to have."
"Do you have a mate?" She asked seemingly out of the blue, curious about Scatteredstar, knowing the younger leader probably hadn't had much of a chance to start a life before she suddenly had so much responsibility. She wondered if Scatteredstar would be open to being introduced to another, if Eternalstar could further weave herself into the others life by sending one of her actors to seduce the younger she-cat.
Scatteredstar felt a tinge of warmth in her ears, but managed to fight the sensation off before it became obvious. Surely leaders get asked things like that by pretty she-cats all the time, right? "Erm, no. I do not..." she replied, taken off guard. She took a breath. There was no way Eternalstar had guessed, no way at all...
"A shame, you're young and beautiful. I thought for sure you would be taken." Eternalstar chuckled, severely amused how flustered her line of questioning had the other leader. Unaware of Scatteredstar's inner thoughts and thinking the leader was simply embarrassed, maybe by her lack of mate, or just uncomfortable talking about such topics. "Are you like me and simply can't seem to find time?" A blatant lie but a way to push further into the conversation topic.
Young and beautiful hmm? There was no way to hide her burning ears now. She took a deep breath and struggled to regain some composure. "Just... no one had caught my attention is all." She lied. "Sooo, I've had a couple refugees from your Clan pass through our territory. They say you exiled them. Might I ask what happened there? We're going to be allies after all. If your Clan is having trouble, perhaps we can help." She continued as thought returned to her. Scatteredstar knew she had to change the subject quickly.
"They speak of exile?" Eternalstar hummed in question, head tilting curiously. "I gave them a choice, at no point did I force anyone out." She responded, which was true. She never chased anyone out, manipulated, bargained, frightened, but never id she directly force anyone. Proven by Softpelt who had stayed despite Eternalstar's subtle prodding, and even up leaving on her own to seek a place where she could truly help more. Or so Eternalstar had heard. "After what happened with Sunclan and Dayclan things were bitter in Springclan, there were those that I thought were... damaged. I suggested help, either through seeing Fawnheart or taking a mental health break. I suppose they might have been bitter about these suggestions."
"I like to think I'm helping us thrive, I've been told by Cardinalheart we're doing much better than we were. I have to agree as well, we have plenty of kits and young cats, though I wish there were more queens. Most of our kits are orphans." She sighed. "I just wish they could have more mother figures."
