Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Look, buddy, I'm a busy man. I've got an apprentice to keep from going all psycho murder on someone, so the longer you just sit and look at me, the longer Lionpaw's probably out kicking babies or something," Pastelchaos meowed, once again irritated by Peach's inability to just tell him what he wanted .
He blinked a few times. Medicine cat apprentice? He supposed he didn't mind Rosyclementine, but damn, did Peachstar make some questionable decisions. "You want to give me ... the responsibility .... to make sure the clan doesn't get sick and die?" he asked, mumbling a "maybe you should be my first patient, clearly you need some sort of medical attention" under his breath. "As part of my... redemption program?"
The truth was, Peachstar was tired of having to think up generous deeds for Pastelchaos to do, but he didn't say that out loud. "Well, you parted ways with SwiftClan due to a misunderstanding between you and one of their medicine cats, correct?" he instead said. "In my eyes, this would be poetic, in a way. But don't get me wrong, you don't have to agree. I'm sure Lionpaw could do with a little more training, after all."
"I would rather gnaw my own foot off than spend any more time with him that I have to," the tom meowed with a definitive head nod. Medicine cat apprentice was going to be probably horrible, but at least his life wouldn't always be slightly hanging on in the balance. He paused for a moment, before letting out a loud purr. "This will show that dumb stupid Straybullet!" he exclaimed, before awkwardly coughing. "I mean, you're totally right, poetic justice or somethin."
Peachstar purred. "Perfect," he said. "Now your redemption program will run a little smoother, I think." That probably wasn't going to be true, but maybe if Peachstar said it enough times, it would be. "I wonder if Rosyclementine is around anywhere." Then he sat and waited.
But then, a little while later, after Peachstar and Pastelchaos had sat in silence for an hour or two, he was. Rosy came trotting up with his jaws full of tansy and coltsfoot, and just anything that smelled or looked nice - including a small branch laden with unripe lemons for his bath the next morning. "Hi!" he greeted, voice muffled by the bundle and eyes bright with happiness as he looked between the two. "Waffup!"
Pastelchaos' brow furrowed. "But.... why wouldn't we.... while he was ....." he meowed, finally breaking the silence that had settled during their intense staring contest. "Hi, Rosyclementine," he then turned his head to greet the other. "Not sure why Peachstar doing this, but I'm sure he would say hi too if he wasn't... the way he was." Pastelchaos sounded a little tired.
"Oh for chrissakes, look what you've done, you made the bugger cry," Pastelchaos meowed, giving Peachstar a thwomp on his leg. "Apologize." The tom acted like a disappointed mother.
Peachstar blinked and saw Rosyclementine had actually been there the whole time. "Oh, sorry Rosy!" he said. "You're just so quiet and unassuming that I must not have noticed you sneak in!"
"I'm two feet taller than both of you," Rosy said in a soft, quiet voice like he was holding back tears, little more than a breath. He tried to get past his hurt and put on a shaky, teary-eyed smile, sounding a little more cheerful. "What... what were you guys talking about in your super cool friend huddle that I'd love to one day be part of?"
"Hey!" Pastelchaos meowed indignantly. "Short jokes aren't cool." He puffed his chest out a little bit, before clearing his throat. "I genuinely can't believe he didn't give you any sort of warning about this, he really is a bit sadistic some times, but we have some news." He meowed, deciding to leave Rosy with a cliff hanger in the same way Peachblush normally did to him.
"What? No," Peachstar frowned. "That's not...Whatever. No, I asked Pastelchaos if he wanted to be medicine cat apprentice and he said yes, so congratulations Rosy! You've got a new apprentice." He gaze Rosyclementine a dazzling smile that made a shiny noise.
Pastelchaos' eyes widened, did he -? For a moment, Pastelchaos didn't ... object to the thought. Even if it was anotomically possible for the two of them to be pregnant, Pastel assumed Peach would not let him go anywhere near children again - even tho no one got hurt . "Uh, yeah, what Peachyboy said. So, uh, reporting for duty, cap'n," he purred with a smile that didn't shine but did glint with a hint of mischief.
For a moment, Rosy was just blinded by Peach's smile, a big, smitten grin spreading slowly across his face. Then, finally, he snapped out of it. "Apprentice!" he exclaimed, looking at Pastelchaos excitedly. "That's great! Do you have any medical experience? Not that I really do, even with my two days of training, but this'll be so great! Oh, it'll be like a sleepover every night!!" He did a little wiggle with his butt, beaming.
