She had been mostly preoccupied as of late. Between the alliance work and then the work of being a new mother, the Tsar had been neglecting some of her other jobs, the ones that were just as important to the clan as anything else, perhaps even more so. She hadn’t done this in quite a while, since before she took Cesar’s under her wing. Perhaps it wasn’t just business, then, as she hadn’t been busy forever. She let out a quiet sigh. At least none of the kadets knew what they were missing, as none of them were old enough to remember or rub it into the faces of others that this used to happen.
“Greetings, young comrades,” she meowed with a wave of her tail. She had been looking forward to this since her kitting. It was a reason to get back into tsar duties, whether or not it has been one that she had completed in a while. “Welcome to your first Kadet Seminar.”

Paradise, of course, was front and center, beaming at the Tsar. That, of course, was to be expected, given that she'd been adopted by Kerrigan, and not only had a duty, but a desire, to make her family proud of her. It was secondary to her desire for utopia, yet she could meld them together almost as if they were one. Almost. Right now, that didn't matter, however. They were focusing on their training, and that was what the Kadet set her mind to, only awaiting instructions from her mother.
"If no one else shows up in the next few moments," the Tsar then spoke, "we will start the activities. I appreciate the timeliness in which you all arrived, though. Timeliness is godliness, and our gods will be pleased." It was hard for kadets to show up to things on time, hell it was hard to get her council to show up on time, so she wanted these ones to know they were special.
Lua was next to her sister, close enough that she could reach over and bump into her. "What do you think Ma's got planned?" the small cat asked Paradise, who was clearly the more put together of the siblings. "Maybe if we need partners, you and I can be partners! That would be so cool, wouldn't it, sis?" She was practically jittering with excitement.

Sephora ran as fast as her little legs could take her. Saying goodbye to her owners had taken much longer than she had expected. As a munchkin cat, running made it hard to make it on time to the BrookClan training he had been invited to by one of the members she had talked to. She saw the group of cats in the distance. "I'm here! I'm here! Sorry, I'm late." Her collar jingled her arrival.
The Tsar raised a single brow at the emergence of a cat who was very clearly not of BrookClan. The Monarchy knew what she thought about intruders, and it wasn't pleasant. Entering her territory was a death wish unless you were invited. This kittypet with her collar and her cute little legs that challenged Kerrigan's accepted position as cutest cat in the forest was not invited. She let out a low growl to herself, before turning her head to the intruder. It tipped slightly, her eyes narrowed.
"Sephora, hmm? I am Tsar Kerrigan of BrookClan," she meowed, her voice the vocal equivalent of eyes being narrowed. "I think you are mistaken of where you are. This is a training session for my kadets. You, as we can all tell, are not of my ranks." She meowed this both as a statement and a question, with an underlying message: explain yourself or face claws.
Lua startled slightly at the she-cat's voice, before smiling. "Sephora! I'm so glad you could make it!" she purred as she raced over to her friend, everyone was Lua's friend. "That cat up there? She's my ma! I told her about you," she chirped, a grin on her face.

Sephora's ears flattened as the tsar spoke to harshly. Well, at least now she was certain this was the training session she was told of.
Her ears perked up immediately at the familiar voice. "Sephora! I'm so glad you could make it!" "Lua! Nice to see you again!" she purred, relieved that a friendly face had shown up in her time of need. "That cat up there? She's my ma! I told her about you." "Oh. That's your mother?" she whispered. "You didn't mention she was the leader of the whole Clan!" She cleared her throat. "I came to for the training session so I could join BrookClan! I already said goodbye to my owners too."

Paradise opened her mouth to respond to her sister, only to watch as a newcomer introduced herself, ears pricking at the sight of Sephora, and Lua obviously knowing her. Now, the Kadet could hardly claim to have ever met the she-cat, but she seemed nice, Lua liked her, and she wanted to join BrookClan, so it never really crossed the feline's mind that this cat might be anything but genuine. Rather, she flashed a wide, welcoming smile as she followed after Lua, her tail waving an enthusiastic greeting that was very different from that of the Tsar.
"Hello, Sephora! I'm Paradise, Lua's sister!" The she-cat chattered, trotting around Sephora to get a better look at her and sate her curiosity. "And of course you can join. She can join, right, mom?" It was only then, that the young cat seemed to remember it was her mother's decision, though her expression only seemed to be awaiting a confirmation, not really expecting anything but a yes.

Sephora smiled as the Lua's sister approached.
"Hello, Sephora! I'm Paradise, Lua's sister! And of course you can join. She can join, right, mom?"
She flicked Paradise's ear with her tail in appreciation. Sephora looked up the tsar. Innocence radiated from her, she had known nothing but comfort her whole life, but she was ready for more. She sat there with her fluffy tail wrapped neatly around her paws.
"Yeah, well, I didn't think it was pertinent information. I didn't want you to not be my friend because you were intimidated!" Lua asserted. "Some cats are funny like that and I didn't want you to be one of them." She said this with a wide smile, before she too looked up to the Tsar. "She can join! She can join!" she chanted softly, looking up with a pleading look to her mother.
Kerrigan didn't look particularly pleased at the idea, but she was less angry at the fact that it was her daughter. After all, Lua could be later reprimanded for bringing in strangers. Wasn't that exactly what you did when you brought Lua and Paradise in? Her face softened for a moment, before she blinked her eyes.

Sephora thought carefully about her next words. I wanna make sure she likes me or I won't get in!
"Lua told me so much about the Clan and how brave you all are! You take care of each other and seem like one big family! I only had my owners to keep me company and no cat really came by my yard. After wandering in the forest and hearing about BrookClan, I knew I had to come!"
Her eyes shone bright with pure excitement. Her tail tip was twitching from the anticipation. "Please! I have a lot to offer! I think...."
BrookClan? One big family? She would have to remind her daughters that BrookClan was different from the others, in that family loyalties were stronger than overall clan loyalty. However, that would be a discussion for another day. She glanced back to Sephora, flicking her tail back and forth. Did she think this cat could be useful? Judging by her size and heritage, more than likely not. However, her daughters looked excited about it, so she would have to give her a chance, it seemed.
"If you have skills to offer, you can face either Lua or Paradise in a fight. I am of the opinion that I do not care which of them you wish to spar with. However, this will be a test of skills. If you manage to defeat, or at least keep up, with one of them, you may join us for the training. Then, if you make it to the training session without running back to your home, I will consider your entrance into my clan." Her hazel eyes drifted from the cat, her whiskers twitching. She had little faith Sephora could handle this, but Kerrigan would allow her a shot.

Fear shot through Sephora as she listened to the tsar. Her belly twisted as her nerves began to get to her, her breathing slightly accelerated. She looked at Lua and Paradise, wanting desperately to join them. Lucky for her, she was a stubborn little cat, and whatever she lacked in skill, she made up for in creativity.
She took a breath shakily. "I agree to your terms, I'm going to do my best!"
She thought for a second. What is my best? These cats have been training! The most I've done is chase a toy mouse!
Sephora shook out her fur, trying to look a little more menacing, but failing slightly as there was kit fluff still behind her ears.
[ yes, bc is a forest mostly c: ] "Yay!" purred Lua at her friend's acceptance of her terms. "She seems a little tough now," she whispered to her friend, "but really she's a big ol' softy. Don't let her fool you, she just wants what's best for the group." She offered a wink, her nose crinklign as she smiled. "But don't tell her I said that!"
"Very well," Kerrigan meowed. If nothing else, this cat had gall. She could appreciate that. It reminded her a little of herself, honestly. Although she had never had to enter the group, she had had to convince the others that she, a nothing, had the power and capability to bring honor to the Monarchy. The situations were not quite the same, but similar enough that Kerrigan could appreciate it.
"You may choose your sparring partner. Each has one moon of formal training, but I unaware of which has more battle training than the other. Each has unique skills and weaknesses, and neither will be an easy defeat." She glanced at her daughters with a nod. She had faith in both of them, even though both of them could perhaps use a little grounding to reality.

She looked at both cats. She sat, closed her head and bowed her head, allowing herself to think for a second. If I choose Lua, she'll think Lua is going easy on me because we're friends. If I go with Paradise, she'll be more impressed. There are trees everywhere like the ones from the backyard, I could use that and surprise attack her! I mean, it worked on the dog...
She looked up determined. "I choose Paradise." She couldn't help but still show excitement. Besides, this is just another game, right?
Paradise flashed a smile, just as excited as the she-cat before her. In truth, the Kadet wasn't much of a fighter, didn't see the use in battle, usually. Why wouldn't everyone just get along? Still, she knew some things, and admittedly, had a similar train of thought, that this would be a fun sort of game between them. Not that this meant the she-cat would go easy on her opponent. After all, what was the fun in allowing yourself to be beat and appear weaker than you were? "I accept!" She announced dramatically, bouncing from one paw to the other as she eyed the she-cat, ready to begin.
"As you wish," the Tsar meowed with a flick of her tail. "Let the fight begin." Her words were simple as she watched her daughter rise to her challenger. Unbeknownst to Sephora, the Tsar was almost positive that Paradise would prove the harder opponent. Lua was rather... airheaded. Yes, that would be the word. Even though she knew Paradise was an idealist who saw little value in such activities, at least the Tsar had some faith that she wasn't going to skip around.

Indeed, Paradise did look a touch surprised by the action, though the calico was quick to race after Sephora, scaling the tree enthusiastically and much like a squirrel. It wouldn't have been her ideal choice of battleground, she'd ideally have no battleground at all, really, but it would be good practice nonetheless. Besides, she was curious as to the she-cat's strategy anyway. She hadn't expected a kittypet, of all cats, would want to fight in a tree.

Sephora looked back in surprise to see Paradise following her quickly.
Oooook. Now what? She was planning on trying to get the drop on her but...
Then the idea flashed in her head. She was still going to get the drop on her!
She took a quick breath and let go of the tree. As she fell vertically, she hooked on to Paradise's shoulders as she fell, trying to catch her off guard and make her fall from the tree.
Kerrigan's eyes widened at the battle strategy. It was daring, and it could get both of them killed if she landed the wrong way. A maternal nervousness entered her body. If Paradise got hurt, she swore to Nivet that she would slice the throat of the kittypet...
