The trainee stared at the warrior intensely as he stopped. What was he thinking? "Just show me how you pinned me. I don't care about the rest."
He was still as Darksonata headed back his way. Eyes narrow, paws light, he focused all his energy on tracking his attacker's movements. His instincts hissed at him to run from the danger circling him, but he held his ground, only flinching when the tom came upon his right side. By the time the warrior struck, he was grateful for the tension to finally be over.
He moved fast. The tom sprang back, putting space between the pair; Darksonata's paw whizzed past his torn ear but left him otherwise unharmed.

Not bad.
However not quite up to par to be able use the move he had used on the young cat earlier. He waited until the tom created some distance, giving him little time to rest before the real barrage of blows began. He used his back legs to push him forward and balance while unleashing a series of swift blows from both sides. They were not intended to harm, instead to make that young cat move in order to avoid being struck. Each blow seemingly coming faster than the last
He side-stepped the first blow and ducked under the next. As the blows came faster and without time to breath, his dodges became sloppier, and he shook his head as the tom cuffed him once, twice, three times. He was growing frustrated, and he abandoned all attempts to dodge and just lunged forward at Darksonata, his head tucked to slam into his stomach and claws unsheathed and ready for fight.

Darksonata waited until the tom was just about to strike before he let down his weight. He landed heavily upon the trainee, paying no mind to the young cats struggles until he felt him stop struggling. He then straightened up, looking down at the young cat "Move less" it took a step backwards, giving the young cat a chance to recover before going back at him again. The young cat's instincts were not bad, but his movements were to big and ineffective. He would easily tire.
The tom snarled in rage as he felt a helfty weight descend on his back, but no amount of thrashing was going to save him. He lay still, glaring up at his opponent with hatred in his eyes. How did he beat him again?
"Move less," he scoffed as he rose to his paws again, ignoring the ache building in his legs. Spite kept him going. "If I move less, you'll hit me." He stalked closer again, keeping a wary eye on his opponent, then struck again. He moved quick and low this time, thinking maybe if he got close before he reached, he would land an attack.

Again Darksonata kept his own movement to a minimum. Not budging from his spot until right before the trainee hit, and even then hardly moving at all to get away. He simply lifted his paw that the cat had been aiming for, spinning slightly on his back legs so that he would go on past him "Less is more" he looked back at the young cat, waiting for their next move.
His back teeth clenched as he bit back a snarl of frustration. The trainee stopped and faced him, stiff-legged, his sides puffing with every breath. Less is more, huh? It was easy for Darksonata to move only a little bit, but it was hard for him. He stalked closer and swiped out, testing the air with one paw; it a small, close arc, and slow enough the warrior could easily avoid the strike.

Darksonata easily dodged the slow strike, but gave the young cat a small nod. The strike was more efficient, and it just need more strength and speed behind it "Snake" he replied. Taking a few steps back and turned to one of the stones standing completely still before lashing out a paw for a quick but well aimed strike and bringing it back to his body. The force of his paw making the rock tremble with the impact "Less is more"
"Snake?" the trainee echoed. The word was utter nonsense to him. Never in his life had he encountered a snake before, and though the word brought up tangled memories of other cats talking about them, he didn't know much about the creatures at all. The rock gave him an idea, though. He frowned down at the stone as if deep in thought, his eyes instead on the warrior, and then all at once he struck. His movement was still grand, his entire body surging forward, but his paw shot out faster than the rest of him was moving to tag Darksonata.

This time the blow hit before Darksonata could get out of the way. He gave the young cat an approving nod, the move having been far better executed than what he had been trying in their session thus far. It was rather smart, he hadn't been expecting it after watching him charge him over and over again and expecting different results "Better!"
His eyes glowed with victory. He took a long step back and away from the warrior, wary of retaliation, but there was a new confidence in the set of his shoulders. Finally, finally, he was learning something new, something helpful. He had made it this far on his rogue skills, he had learned a few dangerous tricks from the League, but a warrior's style of fighting was something new.
"Thank you," the trainee mewed, somewhat reluctantly, as he dipped his head. It was hard to be thankful to a stranger. "For teaching me."

Darksonata shrugged, it really wasn't that big of a deal. He was glad that the young cat was able to get something out of it. He walked up slowly to the young cat, before a paw flashed out, but instead of a strike he simply ruffled the fur there "Work hard"
He flinched, but when the warrior didn't strike him, he didn't move away either. "I will." He had to work hard if he wanted to survive; it wasn't an option. The League had no room for failures.
"I should go," he meowed, suddenly struck by the memory that he had come here for a reason. Backing up, the black and white tom dipped his head to Darksonata one last time.
