Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Okay, mama---" Vividkit agreed with a teary-eyed smile, taking a step away from Littlestar and toward the nursery. If only she had moved just a few seconds earlier, it would have spared her from the terrifying scene that soon unfolded, "FATEKIT, NO!"
The white-furred she-kit stood there with her feet rooted to the ground, trembling in fear as Littlestar threw herself into the water and pulled Fatekit out. She would have run right up to them had Perfectstorm not grabbed her by the scruff and pulled her away. He didn't say anything and she didn't struggle.

"Poor baby," Discordantmelody chuckled from the sidelines, a sick grin on her face, "Should have listened to mama's rules."

Littlestar tried desperately to help the young kit and to get him breathing once more, ignoring her own needs even as her lungs burned. She could still hear his heart beating as she listened carefully between the chest compressions. Then he took a small breath, then two. A good sign, but he wasn't out of the woods. She needed him to cough, to get the water out of his lungs and even then nothing was for certain "Fatekit" she repeated, more softly this time "Fatekit you have to fight this, I need you to cough. You need to get the water out. I'm going to stop and I need you to try with all you might to get it out. Ok?" stardanceJadie @ian Jetclaw
"I don't think he's listening to you," Discordantmelody purred the obvious although she didn't speak loud enough to Littlestar to hear her... probably. She was mostly trying to get a snicker from the crowd, but the truth was that she was the only one who found this comical.
Skipstep rushed over to his mate and Fatekit, hovering as he wasn't sure what to do, pawsteps anxious. Furious with himself for not coming up with that sooner as it might've force Fatekit down. Would his son wake, he couldn't lose another kit.
"What is wrong with you?" Resilientbloom whispered, looking at Discordantmelody absolutely appalled. The white she cat had been hanging back drawn in by the crowd and then stomach dropped when she saw a kit fall. Even before knowing it was her younger brother her stomach had felt like ice.
"This isn't funny! How can you find amusement in a kit getting hurt?!" She hissed ears pinning back.

Littlestar heard Discordantmelody's words, ones that she would be sure to make her regret later.
However, right now she had to focus on Fatekit and him alone. Pushing even her own needs to the side for the time being. stardance @ian JetclawJadieHoneystorm @lore
"I didn't say it was funny." Discordantmelody replied, smiling all the while, barely holding back giggles for being called out by Resilientbloom, "... But now that you mention it..." A giggle escaped and she cut herself off, not one to make a bad situation worse unless she could see an easy way out of it, "In all seriousness I'm sure he'll be fine. After all, SunClan's best healer is his mom." Jetclaw
Her recovery was too late, as Resilientbloom let out a disgusted noise and drew away from Discordantmelody shaking her head. "You're despicable." She hissed.
Skipstep hovered anxiously near Littlestar, mind racing. He'd been a janus for so long he should know how to help. But though many herbs came to mind, they were all useless until Fatekit got the water out of his lungs.
"I'm here, I can take over compressions if you get tired." He offered Littlestar, unable to offer much else but assurance at this point. "But keep it up, he's just got to cough." He said, trying to sound encouraging but mostly trying to distract himself from the worried thoughts running rampant in his mind.
Everything since he hit his head was more or less a blur. He could feel his mother doing... something, but his mind could not quite process what was going on. He heard his sister scream, some other cats talk, and then his mother's voice again. Cough. The kitten's fading mind struggled to make it work. He wanted to, but being already so deprived of oxygen didn't make easy. Just as his heartbeat began to flutter the kitten managed to build up the strength to cough, and the first of the foul tasting water splattered out in front of him.

Littlestar pushed harder as water began to come out of his mouth, trying to help the kit along. Her eyes never left her son, but having her mate here to assist was a great comfort "Start licking the fur along his spine backwards" now that the water had started to come, the rest usually followed quickly and their attention would have to turn to get the kit warm and stable. She moved her paws slightly, starting to ease the compressions as more and more water landed on the ground between them but not stopping completely. The young kit was going to be sore, but with his airway now clear and being attended by a healer he stood a good chance of making it.
It felt like a blur. The tom was vaguely aware that he was throwing up water, but it was almost just an out of body experience. He faded in, and out, but soon enough there was nothing left to heave up. The kitten slowly opened his eyes to the sore throbbing of his chest and the foul stench of the water that he had just released from his lungs. He felt the coldest he had ever been... but oddly warm as well. "Uhhh...."

Littlestar, finally took in a deep breathe herself. Shivering from the cold of the water, she looked up to see the assembled crowd of cats that had been watching the events unfold "Go on, time to get back to work. Fatekit will be alright" she tried to sound authoritative, but was exhausted a emotionally drained. She leaned down to pick him up by the scruff her shoulder gently brushing up against Skipstep for support as they asended upwards back to the privacy of their den. Jetclawstardance

Fatekit stayed silent as his mom picked him up. The kit's mind was racing a mile a minute trying to piece together what just happened, and all of their stares only made it worse. He tucked his head in. "Mom, I'm cold..."
