Her pale blue eyes fluttered open as the morning sun began to filter into the den. She glanced around at the other kits beginning to wake and her ears pricked up in hope. Darkkit hadn't gotten a chance to make any friends yet. For some reason, a lot of Waterclan seemed to look down on her and her siblings... Surely she could make just one friend, right?
Darkkit was going to regret that wish. Everyone in the clan knew that only one cat would be friends with a spawn of Riverstar, and that was somebody who was almost as emotionally unstable as the mother who was classified as the town loon. Parrotkit was the first one up of her siblings. Well, really, she was the first one up out of all the kits. She always was, but she didn't want to wake the others so she'd usually just watch them sleep. Surely that's not creepy at all.
The cream colored she-cat spotted Darkkit right away looking around lonely, and the kit took it upon herself to solve this problem. Before Darkkit could even react Parrotkit was in her face with her sapphire blue gaze staring into her soul. "HELLOMYNAMEISPARROTKITWANNABEFRIENDS!!!" She practically screamed out.

Darkkit's eyes were wide with shock. One second she was wishing for a friend and then the next someone was yelling in her face that they wanted to be friends with her. Did Starclan do that? For several moments, she was stunned speechless. When the words finally came, they were soft and shy. "U-uh hello..." She started, brushing a paw against the ground. "My name is Darkkit. It's n-nice to meet you, Parrotkit." She ended her greeting with a small smile up towards the other kit.
No greeting was necessary now. They were now besties forever. As long as you talked to Parrotkit, you were friends, that's how it worked. "COME ON COME ON WE'RE GONNA GO DO BESTIE THINGS!" Parrotkit was now behind Darkkit pushing her out the den with her head against her butt. "LETS GO LETS GO!!!"

The smoke tabby stood there in disbelief and slight confusion for several moments until Parrotkit started pushing her. "Okay, okay." Darkkit responded through a fit of giggles. "Where are we going?"
"Well to start off, we're going to sneak out of camp, because that's what besties do!" Parrotkit said matter-of-factly and rather loudly. It was clear the kit didn't realize that she should be quiet around the older cats when talking about their full intentions of doing something as dangerous as walking out of camp and into the wild where predators like foxes and badgers lived. "Now, one of us has to be the leader of the group who brings up the idea and then executes it while the other protests and insists it's a bad idea but won't do anything about it because they're too much of a wuss to not say no to their friend. That's how I watch the other kits do it." Parrotkit said with her chest puffed out as if she was proud that she knew how to act normal based on the interactions between the other kits.

Darkkit's eyes widened as the plan unfolded without her even making a peep. Parrotkit was really good at this! She seemed to be a master at making friends! The thought made her both nervous and excited. "U-uh okay. And you're sure we won't get caught?" She meowed, assuming the role of the one who insists on it being a bad idea. It was interesting how that just happened without her realizing it.
