Drippaw shot after the frog, his paws quick and confident in the marsh. He wasn't very good at fishing yet, but chasing? He could do that. He spun around a tree and skidded through a corner, closing in on his prey as it hopped ahead, then lunged. And jerked backward like invisible jaws had snatched him out of the air and pulled him back, and he crashed to the ground as the frog disappeared around a bend.
"Wha-?" The apprentice twisted around, wincing at the sore shock in his muscles, and saw tendrils of ivy had wrapped themselves around his back leg, tying to him a tree as he'd tried to run past. He let out a groan. He couldn't believe he missed his catch!
