The sun was still high in the sky when the black and white tom made his way across the unknown territory. He was tired yes, but he had business to attend to that couldn't wait. It was times like this he found that being nocturnal was a little more than annoying. Ignoring the mild stinging in his eyes he held himself up with pride as he made his way to the meeting spot that was agreed upon and arranged with a 'friend of a friend' by his 'friend'. Being the new cat around definitely had its drawbacks, ones that he was determined to remedy after this rather... unfavorable encounter.

He rarely asked new clientele to meet him in the city. Especially if they were coming from the forest. There were too many pathways they didn't understand and too many eyes that stared at him like he was fire. Or a car crash. The kind that wanted to see just what would come next. The old manor was still empty, and while it had a lot of bad memories haunting it, he didn't get close to the door. Instead, he sat under a twisted tree, an odd site but a good meeting spot as it was hard to miss. Curling his paws underneath him. Funk E'tan rested his head on the bundle of herbs in front of him. A friend hinted someone would be interested in his work, and a lot of chit chat ended up with him being here. He was used to the same old clientele that he was excited about this breath of fresh air. Whoever they were.

Levy stopped to survey the scene in front of him, almost missing the red Bengal among the foliage that littered the base of the tree. Clever cat. smirking ever so softly to himself he hurried to meet the cat at the base of the tree, ignoring the ominous aura their surrounding emitted. They were both grown, there was no reason to feed into childish things like what went bump in the night, or in this case, day.
"This is an interesting spot to take a nap" the large cat remarked, taking a seat near by on one of the exposed gnarled roots of the tree. Sinking his claws into the exposed soft wood he begain to sharpen his claws on the bark.

Funk watched the black and white tom double take then hurry towards him. Humming a little, he drank in the details. He didn't smell of any clan in general, just the forest. And he'd know at this point if they were in Dayclan. Still, it didn't matter. First time clients were always quiet, the kind to grab their stuff and pay and leave in a hurry. No fun to converse with. Well, maybe he'd be different. Or not. He couldn't tell yet. The tom looked so serious it made Funk want to mess with him more.
"It's nice though." The Nemesis shrugged, only lifting his head some to watch him sharpen his claws. A bit brazen. How fun. "If this kind of place is an issue, I can see why you want these. Insomnia taking your life over?" The sedatives he had were strong, but not overly necessary for just insomnia. He knew that.

"Insomnia is my life." His lips curled into a smile, and his paws quit working the wood underneath his claws. His tail however weaved idly to and fro behind him almost immediately after his paws stopped moving. The tom began to purr idly as if he wasn't even aware he was doing so. He assessed the red cat quickly, just a quick size up that he knew the other would of noticed. Interest and amusement gleamed in his gaze. "I have no issue with our chosen rendezvous, It only makes sense to greet strangers on familiar ground."

"Well, sleep will be your master in no time with these bad boys." Funk watched him fidget. Though hearing him purr made his own throat hurt some, a little reminder at how strangled his own sounded now. He almost yawned, like he actually tried them himself. Though he knew there were good, just from how often they were taken. Though rarely for insomnia. "It's funny though. Most cats who need something like this use them to drug someone. They sleep fine at night, of course." The red Nemesis smiled. It was none of his business, not that he couldn't poke. "Oh well, to each their own. So how much does your restful sleep cost to you?"

He offered no further information even as the other lightly pressed for it, there was no need to explain himself and therefore he kept up his calm demeanor. Still smiling faintly and purring as Funk spoke. he's bored he noted as the other tom's jaws parted in a yawn. Most would assume that he perhaps sampled his own supplies but to Levee he didn't look the type. He however, did strike him as rather curious.
"Right, there is the matter of payment, I'm prepared to grant you whatever it is that you want, provided that you do me one last favor first." He watched the tom carefully, trying to read his expression and gauge his reaction.

To be fair, Funk hadn't been sleeping well recently. Maybe he should take some of these himself. But then he knew those nightmares would torment him in his waking life. And he didn't have much time for that anymore. Plus he knew. They wouldn't help him. Nothing did nowadays. His blood was like acid now, destroying anything foreign that entered it. Funk tilted his head, expression somewhat blank as the black and white tom offered him that. A favor huh? Even though he had the goods here, the power and all that. He was right though, Funk was curious. So his smile only tickled his lips as he lowered his head again. "Hmmm, I'll at least hear you out." He was the talkative type. Nice. He liked that.

Leviathan's smile broadened at the nemesis' words. The tom's nonchalant demeanor was telling in itself, or maybe not. It could be that the red cat felt comfortable with power and felt no reason to cling to it, or that he was forcing himself to remain calm so that others would read him wrong. His confidence was both refreshing and mildly vexing, if only because it would mean he didn't see Leviathan as a threat, he wasn't but still. The rogue leader's tail twitched as he regarded the tired glint in the Bengal's green eyes. Tired meant slow, and being slow made you vulnerable. He could understand the feeling, it would be in both of their best interest to trust the other not to do anything foolish.
"I'm not particularly keen on having a middle man when it comes to my necessities. If you would be willing to show me where you procured this herb of yours, I'll do whatever it is you desire that would make it worth your while."

Funk rose to a sitting position slowly, as confident as ever. Sure, it was shaken recently, but there was no way he wouldn't reclaim it. For as much as this cat fidgeted around, he didn't appear nervous. Must have been some sort of tic. It was fascinating to watch him, and a part of him missed sitting and trying to figure someone out. Either way, he made no attempts in doing anything foolhardy, figuring the other would follow him or at least walk parallel to him.
Gently, he opened the bundle, "Your guy didn't tell me how many you needed. So I just made a few, with an extra kick in relaxation and a touch of muscle relaxant." The leaf was filled with a few green pods that were less than an inch in diameter. They were small, but packed with enough chamomile, poppy seed grounds and ground valerian root, it was sure to knock you out. "Give em a few minutes and you or your target will be knocked out. And if they don't work how you want, I can tweak them. A good deal huh?" The Nemesis didn't mind. Most always wanted something messed with and that gave him a chance to experiment more. A win win.

Hopping off the root of the tree, the black and white tom closed the gap between him and Funk getting perhaps a little too close. His gazed locked with the other's only briefly before he bent his head to carefully sniff the pods that rested on the leaf. The smart, and simultaneously stupid thing to do would be to test them out. He had to know if they worked right? He couldn't ask the other tom to do it, the tired look in his eyes confirmed his suspicions that the russet tom did in fact not indulge himself in his own concoctions, and there was a reason for it. Otherwise why would someone so tired not take any sleep aid. As far as the tom knew, he was using them on himself so it would have to be something he knew to be safe wouldn't it?

Funk didn't really test them on himself, more that he had other cats to test them on. Funk watched him, locking his gaze on his briefly before looking down at the pods. At the question, he shrugged, "They kick in pretty quick. If you got nothing bothering your sleep, Spots, they should last you the whole night. If you're, say, being rustled around a bit, it takes a bit to wake up and you will in a daze thanks to the muscle relaxant."

The tom straightened up, deciding with that information it probably wouldn’t be too wise to try them out now. Though it was still early enough in the day... and he could use a good sleep before that nights events... No, he would wake for now, and even with only a few pods it would last him a few months, should he only use them for their intended purpose. So even if the tom wasn’t willing to show him how to make them he wouldn’t need to call upon his services for some time. He had to admit that was mildly disappointing, save his usually band of followers it had been some time since he’d met a cat he couldn’t quite figure out and it looked like he was going to lose his opportunity to do so.
“That’ll work fine then, your guy didn’t exactly tell me what you wanted in exchange...” curiosity seeped into his tone as he watched the other carefully. He was obviously in a place of power so it wasn’t like he couldn’t get his paws on something if he wanted. This put Leviathan at a disadvantage. He held no real power in these lands yet so anything this cat asked of him would take some time to arrange.

"True, but he doesn't know so he couldn't have told you." Funk finally sat up into a sitting position, leaning back to where his back popped some. Really, he came up with his prices on the fly. Considering there was no currency, physical things and favors were the most valuable things. With their black market and being related to Jazz, Funk had gotten better at this. He closed up the pods and pulled them back towards him. "So here's my first deal. I don't need to know what you're doing with these things. But no one comes to me for just a sleep aid. So I only got two questions. What do you do to the cats you give these to? And if you say you kill them, how about you take a few troublesome guys off my paws with em?"

Leviathan blinked. This was going to be way easier than he originally thought. Once again the purr started up up in his throat as he let himself get lost in thoughts, whatever was going through his mind made the smile on his lips curl up even further, perhaps the most genuine one in a long while. His paws began to excitedly shred the grass beneath his paws.
"Yes, yes the cats I give these to do die, but I do not kill them. They offer themselves to me willingly. However, if the cats you wish me to take care of are yours to offer up, I can certainly take them off your paws. One of them as soon as tonight if you can tell me where to locate them before sunset." He rattled on excitedly barely able to contain his excitement.

There we go. The truth, he figured. Though when he got into them offering themselves willingly, he almost zoned out. It was one of those culty things. Like Sunclan. Of course, he ended up helping the other cult. As long as his blood didn't end up there too, it was fine. "I suppose they can be. With enough persuasion." He'd have to track them down, but as long as he could keep them in his prison, he could hand them over to... this guy. And get rid of them. Anyone wanting to mess with his businesses or those with a hero complex.
Speaking of, "Alright, sounds like a deal. Congrats on your first dealing with the League. Name's Funk. Funk E'tan. You have a name? Your guy didn't tell me much." Funk extended a paw in a friendly shake, but his smile was reminiscent of the devil's.

He almost didn't hear the other cat speak over the sound of his own incessant purring. He could hardly contain his excitement at the thought of that night's festivities. Everything had to be perfect, and thanks to his new friend here it would be. He was pulled from his delusions as Funk E'tan introduced himself, though he wasn't fast enough to hide the spaced out expression on his face when Levee had mentioned his intentions for this herb, though he probably wasn't trying to.
"Leviathan" he extended his paw to firmly shake his, completely unfazed by the devilish grin that morphed the rusty colored tom's features. "Something tells me, you're not a fan of my practice" he grined slyly, trying to albeit, halfheartedly match Funk's but, there was too much amusement in his eyes to have the same effect.

"It's not my cup of tea." Funk admitted, no way to hide the face he made. He had little intentions to, a bit too wrapped up in how much Leviathan was purring and the expression on his face. "But hey, different strokes for different folks. It works out for you and me so I see no issue." Leviathan, huh? Funk would remember that. Though now he needed to go and find someone. "Well, you want your pick of the crop or do you want to be surprised?"
