With a solemn denim gaze and anxious look about him, it was odd how Anguis was chosen as Chaman. His past love and Chaman, Mipha, had disappeared followed by Ajani. Then Commander Mars had decided the black and white tom would be a good choice for Chaman. The Regime was now doomed, Anguis had decided. There was no way that he could do half as admirable a job as his successors. He let out a sigh and settled down in the grass just outside of the Regime's tunnels. "Blind Protector, what were you thinking?" He meowed out loud, the tension clear in his voice.

"He was prolley thinkin' that you'd be the best cat fer the job," meowed a tom as he walked up behind him. His voice was just as boyish as ever. They had once told him that he never had the capacity to grow up, and he, for the most part, hadn't proved anyone wrong. He was still the same cat he had been before he left, for the most part. After witnessing Brighton die, he had become slightly less naive to the world, but he was still himself, just a little more weary to the world.
"From what I un'erstand," his dialect was no less hard to follow than when he was young, "you got some good blood'n ya, n'that means you c'n do whatever is put in ya path." He offered a smile to the Chaman. "Have some faith'n yerself, youngin'."

Anguis' ears pricked at the sound of a strangely familiar voice. He listened to the tom's words before turning to meet his gaze with his own doubtful blues. "Good blood? I'm not sure about that." The tom responded with a bit of a flat tone. It had been a few moons since his mother revealed her true identity to him. He had known Evermore to be sneaky and deceitful, and had heard stories about her own mother not being much better. He knew his Aunt Brighton was an honorable cat, though, so maybe that was what the older tom was referring to. Either way, he was sure that none of that respectable, noble blood got to him after the emotional abuse his mother put him and the others through.

"I mean, per'haps not'ya Ma. From what I gatha'd 'bout 'er was she had a bad case of Manchester-itis. Maybe not all her fault," he meowed this with a flick of his tail. "The whole lot'a 'um were a troubled bunch, though." He nodded a few times, as if simply to confirm his assertion to himself. "That don't mean that there wasn't anythin' there. Misplaced potential, I'd like ta' call't."
Symmetry let out a sigh. The memories of the family that brought him into the fold were still a little painful, but that was simply because he could still see his friend taking her last breath.
"I'm Raiser Symmetry," he then murmurd after a moment. "We woulda met when you was a wee lad, maybe, but it's been a bit since I was 'round these parts. Someone had to chase ya Aunt around, n that job was left'a me."
