Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. Lovesmitten had spent many moons trying to figure out the best gift for Autumngoassamer. The two of them had only been together for a short while, at least it felt that way. With her at his side the days passed so quickly, that he hadn't even had time to glance at any other she-cats. His thoughts had been wrapped up in how to keep her happy, and this romance festival was the perfect opportunity to prove that he meant what he had said that day.
Yet none of the gifts he had found ever seemed to be enough, which had sent him wandering further and further from home. It was only yesterday that he had finally found what he was searching for, a gift that represent his undying love for her in a way that no other had.
With everything settled, Lovesmitten plastered on the most flirtaous grin that he could manage, sauntering up to her from behind and intertwining his tail with hers. She had been speaking with one of the other Janus, focused on whatever it was they had been discussing A deep purr rumbled in his throat "There is my beautiful mate, working hard as always. However I'm going to be selfish for a little while and steal you away from your duties, and don't you even think about saying no my lady
Her words had poison and were as toxic as a tiger snake. Get bit by her and just like a tiger snakes symptoms will include sweating, possible numbness and most importantly would leave you paralyzed. Cats who were smart knew to tip toe around her and those that were the brave and stupid talked to her like anyone else. But Lovesmitten was never any of those, he didn't talk to her to be brave and he never tip toed around her out of fear of venomous spite, but stayed by her side cause he wanted to be around her. No one ever wanted to be around her, when she was in DayClan everyone looked at Celadinepaw, but before she became someone he looked at her first. She didn't need to be a someone for him to love her and even when her fur was a mess and she was in an unpleasant mood he didn't repulse at the sight of her. She didn't need to be a part of a popularity contest for Lovesmitten to like her, she just had to be her which had never been an easy task, but around him felt worth it.
Her eyes lit up at the sight of him, maybe sometime ago she'd have been disgusted at the fact she'd choose love over a career, but the older she got the more she learned that there were things out there more worth protecting than power, "Okay sugar bear," Autumngossamer purred as she moved herself under his throat sending him tiny tingles from the way her tail threaded through his and tickled the side of his ear. While inside she felt a bit shy about the idea of love no one would guess it considering she displayed public affection possibly more than anyone else in the clan. She didn't want to say that the first thing that came to mind when she thought of Lovesmitten was that he was an absolute hottie with a heavenly body cause of course he was smart and kind, but... He was a total hunk and it was almost certain you'd find her wherever he was at.
If love could kill, he would have died in that moment. Every minute touch sent electric shocks through his body, as he leaned in and licked her forehead. He had been expecting some sort of argument, not that he would have taken no for an answer. He knew it was rather selfish to pull a Janus away from camp for the day, but it was the romance festival and she deserved only the best "Purrrfect, now come with me"
It was going to be a bit of a walk, but they could always hunt along the way and just enjoy the journey. For now he was content just to have her at his side "Let's play a game" he announced suddenly as he led her to where his gift awaited "You get five yes or no questions to figure out what I got for you before we get there. If you win then you can return back to your duties this evening, if you loose than you are mine for the night" he winked playfully
Autumngossamer gave a her usual mock dignified look as if gleaming over what he said, "Oh, alright," She said with fake reluctance, "Let's see is it a purple mouse?"
When he looked at her she had a wide smirk, "I got it didn't I? You look so stunned," She joked, nudging into him playfully. She did want to guess, but what if she did get it right? She could hardly stand the Acaiburst who was okay, but not someone she especially wanted to be around and now they had a bunch of annoying apprentices crawling around calling themselves Janus. They were only picked cause no one else volunteered to tryout. She could only hope they grew up fast. A night with Lovesmitten sounded like a dream.
"A purple mouse, now wouldn't that be a sight to see? Though I fear not deary, for that is not your present. One guess gone, and four more remain" He playfully nudged her back, catching on to her response quiet easily. She wanted to spend the rest of the night with him, or else she would have taken this little game a little more seriously. They hadn't yet got to spend much time alone away from the clan, much less a full a night. He could already feel his heart thrumming in chest, as his stomach flipped circles inside him. He wasn't sure if it was excitment or nerves, but either way she was having an effect on him.
"Okay okay, I got it, is it someone I hate and we get to torture them all night? That's a little dark, Lovesmitten. But if that ones a no I'm gonna say it's a cactus blossom?" Autumngossamer continued, "Alright, I'm never gonna guess it, you can just show me it."
"Alright then, but you have to do something for me" In one smooth movement, he slipped up behind her and placed a thick leaf around her face to keep her from seeing the surprise that was just up ahead "I'm sorry, but I don't want you to see just yet and no peeking" he chuckled using his tail that he draped over her shoulders to lead her forward. She would just have to trust that he knew what he was doing.
He led her to a small hollowed out stump that was big enough to house the two of them, and all around in was a little flower garden that he had created out of two-leg flowers he had gathered from . When he had first found them he had been confused as to why they didn't die even after being picked, but had finally come to realize that these flowers would not die. To make it even more stunning he had spent countless night catching fireflies and using them to paint the flowers so that they now glowed as the sun began to go down. Once he had positioned her, he removed the leaf covering her eyes
Autumngossamer shivered at his touch, but her smile was aglow as he placed the leaves over her eyes, "Guess I'll have to lean in closer," She purred pressing up against his pelt.
She followed him, the scent of flowers thick now, which was great, because there was a part of her in the back of her mind wondering if she was going to be led over a cliff. SunClan cats were backstabbing maniacs, but it was always reassuring to know her mate wasn't one. She let out a gasp, "Lovesmitten!" She purred, her voice gushing with a girlish tone as she leaned into him again before hopping up and down, "I LOOOOO-OOOO-OOO-Uh-Uh-uhvvv it!" She squeaked like a kit.
"We should just live here, I love everything in here," She said stepping forward, her brown gaze looking around at everything inside before turning around to look at him, her smile softer than she ever let it be, "What did I ever do to deserve you?"
As he removed the blindfold, he pulled away so that he could see the expression on Autumngossamer's face. He thought she might find the whole thing rather silly and childish, but the joy that her hapiness brought him had no compare. He felt his heart beat faster and heat rise to his cheeks at her question "Well that is easy deary, you gave me a chance"
He purred leaning in to lick her cheek gently. "and I'll spend the rest of my life trying to return that gift"
"I had my doubts about you after the first few days of knowing you, but none of those doubts exist anymore. You've already proven yourself and if it seems like you haven't it's just because I'm the shy one," Autumngossamer said before pressing back a wave of anxieties, this relationship had hit the serious phase, "Because we're getting serious now I want you to know that I would love to have kits with you. But I'm really really scared of having kits, like carrying them. I'm-" She thought of how to phrase it without seeming like a wimp, "Pregnancy looks really intense I don't know if I can do that... I don't know if I can give you kits of your own. So if that's a roadblock for you that's my stance. I want to be upfront about it now rather than later."
