open to all members of summerclan
Graythorn receives a dream from Starclan, revealing a strange plant which will cure the cats of Summerclan. Ravenstar, Tuskblood, and Graythorn
each choose two cats to convene on a journey in search of this plant that will save the clan, guided by Starclan. All cats who have exhibited the mind
sickness will begin living in a secluded area to avoid spreading it in case it is contagious. They learn quickly that separating the cats does nothing -
whatever is affecting them is not through spreading it from one another. Fear only grows as cats begin hallucinating - they no longer need to sleep. When one cat dies from the fear brought to them. In this paranoia,
they are untrusting and skeptical of cats in nearby clans but keep this secret close to them in fear of the pride clans sensing any form of weakness.
Tension begins to grow within the clan as cats begin to turn on each other and becoming untrusting of one another. Many cats sleep in small familial
units but even those are beginning to crumble. Ravenstar does everything to try and keep her clan together but the fear and dreams have gripped
her as well by this point.
With her own symptoms worsening as time was going on and the patrol having been sent off in search for the cure as told to them by Summerclan, Ravenstar had ordered that all cats who were showing signs of this sickness were to be moved away from the camp. They were sure if it was contagious or how it was spreading, but she had been hoping that by separating cats out into a different location by the red wood tree that they would be able to prevent the spread. Unfortunately, it seemed that more cats were joining them every day and the she-cat felt at a loss for how to help her clan. This separation seemed to be doing nothing and so she called to each of her clanmates around their temporary camp at the Redwood tree. "Summerclan cats! We will return to the main camp in the morning. Be sure to get rest in the mean time and those who are capable of hunting will help on a patrol."

Ravenmask looked around at his fellow clanmates with a worried look on his face. Was there any cure to this...this illness? And why were they going back to camp anyway? Wouldn't the other unaffected cats shun them? "B-but why do we have to move again?" he asked Ravenstar.

"Separating into two camps has only made us weaker. Cats are still getting sick just as quickly and the main camp simply leaves our unaffected members more defenseless and our medicine cat is torn between two locations. It's been determined that this sickness is not spread by proximity." It only made her wonder more where this sickness was from. The water and prey seemed to be just fine, so where was it coming from? She wondered if it had to do with the fact that two of her lives were given by the dark forest. What interest had they taken in her and why? It made her nervous and, quite frankly, sick to her stomach.
On the far side of the makeshift camp, the leader's words seemed to barely register with Mudpaw. The chocolate-brown she-cat was basically a lethargic ghost by this point; a little bit more of the formerly happy-go-lucky apprentice disappeared with every passing night. What nightmare would she have tonight? Graythorn dying right in front of her? Her friends dying in front of her? Being trapped all alone in an endless maze, with the echoing wailing of cats all around, begging for help? Only a telltale twitch of her ear showed her acknowledgment of Ravenstar's decision. Her mentor knew best, she supposed. Not that it would help anything. Were they even worth helping?
Two cats sat together not far from where Mudpaw was huddled. Dawnbreak and Whisperedbreeze had been a couple of the latest arrivals after the two siblings had experienced the nightmares within a short time of each other. They had only arrived at the makeshift camp early in the morning and with Ravenstar's announcement that they were soon to return back to the main SummerClan camp, Whisperedbreeze sighed. "I hope we can all make the trek back. Some barely made it here in the first place."

Crimsonpaw padded into the makeshift camp carrying a bundle of thyme leaves and chamomile with Graythorn right behind him. After depositing the herbs on the ground, the apprentice looked around eagerly hoping to see the one cat he'd missed since this second camp had been made. Then he spotted the brown she cat. He noticed that she didn't look the way she used to and he felt a sharp stab of sorrow in his heart. Will she okay? he wondered as he made his way over to her. "Hi," he meowed somewhat shyly to Mudpaw. "I...uh...missed you in the camp. I hope you're feeling better. I've been chosen to go on the patrol that's going to find the cure. We're leaving soon." He'd do just about anything to help her.

As the bittersweet voice reached her ears, Mudpaw turned her head, lifting her cloudy gaze to meet Crimsonpaw's. The concern on his face was clear as daylight, which made her feel even worse that she had made him worry over her so much. She could feel her stomach twist into knots as she looked at him, and she grit her teeth, desperately trying to not sob in front of him. Her mind was so preoccupied and full of static that it wasn't until the end of his sentence that she fully realized what he was saying. "Y-You're leaving?" Her voice was quiet, but the surprise and sorrow in it were obvious. Dropping her gaze to her paws, she let out a sigh of resignation. "Crimsonpaw...you don't have to do this. I won't have you risk your life for me. I'm not worth it... I'm nothing but a burden to Summerclan."

Ravenstar left her spot with a nod towards Ravenmask and headed towards Graythorn. She moved quickly and quietly and was by his side quickly. "How is everyone? I'm particularly worried about Mudpaw." She murmured, looking over at the brown apprentice who spoke with Crimsonpaw. Those two seemed particularly close but she could tell something was off. The black she-cat felt a twinge of guilt - it was her job to protect her clan and her apprentice but she couldn't even do that much.

"Don't say that," Crimsonpaw meowed gently to Mudpaw. "You're NOT a burden ... you're a friend...a really good friend." He moved closer and gave one of her ears a lick. "And I want to go," he continued. "Not only it was very prestigious to be invited but I'll also know that I'll be doing something to help you get better." He paused for a breath. "I missed you ... a lot and I want to you you well again." He'd do anything now for this she cat who he used to be at odds with when they were both kits.
"How so?" Graythorn asked with concern in his voice. He'd been attached to the she cat ever since he had brought her back to the camp. She had become like a daughter to him even though he was only about a year older than she. "Is Mudpaw exhibiting other symptoms than the others?" He felt a nagging tug on his heart as he looked over at Mudpaw.
Now she couldn't hold back the tears any longer. With a choked sob, Mudpaw buried her head in her best friend's chest, crying into his ginger pelt. "I-I don't know what to do anymore, Crimsonpaw. I'm constantly on edge, I feel like complete crow-food...a-and I know it's because I'm not sleeping, but I CAN'T sleep! Because...because when I do...I see the most horrible things...I can't stand it anymore. But, I...I don't want you to go either...because you might not come back for real this time..."

Crimsonpaw draped his tail over Mudpaw's back as he let her lean against him for comfort. "That's your fear talking," he mewed gently. "I'm going to be fine. There'll be others with me on the trip and we'll all protect each other. And remember what you dream isn't real. The next time you dream about something bad say to it, 'You're NOT real! I'm going to shred you to pieces!' Be sure to bare your fangs too and I bet whatever it is will dissolve away."
