Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Earthborne stalked through the forest, her belly touching the ground. It felt cool against her warm pads and skin. It helped her calm down as she opened her mouth for the scent of prey. She wasn't hungry, but it was anger that had driven her from the warrior's den.
Timberfrost had gone out hunting as well, just to get out of camp much the same as Earthborne. He'd managed to find the scent trail of a squirrel and was tracking the trail down when he ran into Earthborne, quite literally. He hadn't really been paying attention to where he was walking, too focused on the scent trail to do little more than avoid trees, and bumped into the she-cat just as he stepped around a bunch of bushes that had stood in his path. He jumped back startled, "I'm sorry!"
Earthborne held back the snarl in her voice. It wasn't this cat's fault that the other warriors were mewling in their sleep. Sleep deprived, she lowered her voice. "Just watch where you're going next time." she said. The trees and clouds parted for just a moment, allowing the moon to shine down on the two, making the she-cat's black and white pelt turn grey. "What are you doing out here any, Timberfrost?" she asked.
She nodded. "Same. With our rumbling through the forest we probably scared it all off." she said with a laughing mew. She might as well either head back to camp or stretch her legs and look for more prey scents. "We can try a different direction?" she offered.
"How about we try over by the old abandoned two-leg nest. There's usually a lot of prey around there since no one likes hunting there since it isn't always all that safe." Timberfrost suggested.
The black and white she-cat nodded and agreed. "That sounds like a good idea. You don't think there would be dogs near there at night would you?" she said, her voice shaking. She often had nightmares of the huge beasts, their tongues lolling just inches from her face.
"I've never heard of dogs being around there." Timberfrost said. "The place had been empty since long before the time of my great-grandmother and I haven't heard a single story of anyone finding dogs around here."
The fur on her neck began to lie down as he spoke. "Alright," she said warily. Although she believed her fellow clanmate, she still felt it best to be alert for anything else. "Do you wanna split up?" she asked.
He could see that she was still uncomfortable with the thought of the possibility of dogs being around the old nest. "It's up to you. I don't mind either way."
"I think that would be best. We can cover more ground." she glanced sideways, and then back at the tom. "Don't worry about me." she said with a laugh. She was wary but could hold her own.
He grinned at her before nodding in agreement. "Makes sense." he agreed. "I'll go this way then." he said indicating off to the left side of the old, long abandoned building.
