Aspenkit crouched before the fallen leaf, her lightly browned pelt gleaming with shimmers of auburn as the sun warmed it. It had been a moon since she saw her father, Wraith, leaving by the front entrance to camp. Mother said he had a wondering soul. She also said he would return. Now as a moon came and went Juniperwater seemed sad like a cat who was beginning to think she had lost her mate to the afterlife.
