Bonefang stood in the center of the camp and looked up at the soft white clouds moving slowly across the azure sky. A chill was in the early morning air, a promise of what's to come. The next full moon in only two weeks will mark the beginning of Leaffall. An inadvertent sigh escaped from his chest. Greenleaf is Bonefang's favorite season. He wasn't looking forward to another cold Leafbare. But what could he do about it? The seasons come and the seasons go. He shook his fur in an attempt to shake off his melancholy mood. There's work to be done as if the depleted fresh kill pile didn't already indicate that fact. The senior warrior looked around the camp for someone who would accompany him on his hunt.
The young flame pelted she-cat, Lionesspaw made her way out of the apprentice's den. She looked around camp quietly observing. She soon noticed Bonefang as her eyes traveled towards the Fresh-kill pile. She shook out her pelt , stretched and headed towards the tom. "Morning, Bonefang." She purred as she dipped her head in greeting and respect. "You seem to be looking for somone." She commented. "Anyone in particular?"

"And good morning to you, too," Bonefang replied. Then adding with a smile, "Yes, in fact I was. I was looking for a young, eager apprentice to come hunting with me. Do you happen to know of any who might be available?"

Bonefang ruffled the fur on top of Lionesspaw's head. "Ha! That's what I like to see in young cats - enthusiasm! Let's get started then." He started to walk out of the camp then he stopped and turned back to look at the apprentice. "So, how far along are you in your training? What kinds of prey have you caught?" He had in mind to go to the rabbit meadow but he knew that kind of hunting was usually reserved for more experienced hunters.
(Is this thread taking place before Lionesspaw's injury thread or is it after she's been healed?)

Lionesspaw smiled happily. "Well I have been learning to catch a rabbit. Haven't caught one yet." She answered as she followed the tom to the camp entrance.

"Well isn't that a coincidence?" Bonefang replied. "I was wanting to head over to the rabbit meadow anyway. Maybe you'll catch your first one today." He headed out of the camp and waded across the small stream near the camp. He would follow this stream down to the main stream which bordered the meadow.

"So, how far along are you with your training?" Bonefang asked trying to make conversation as they walked along the stream toward the log bridge. He never kept track of when an apprentice started their training or how advanced they were, not unless it was his own apprentice when he had one. He had in mind to teach Lionesspaw how to team hunt rabbits.

"I am glad you didn't have any disabling injures from that incident and that you're now healed," Bonefang replied sincerely. "I'll show you how to team hunt rabbits. Actually it's easier this way than trying to catch them by yourself. One cat acts as a flusher and a chaser while the other cat lies in wait to make the kill. Sound fun?"
(She does have disabling injuries. Her right eye is gone. Other then that she has a limp on her right leg. that will play up once in awhile. She is heavily scarred from it.)
" Ok. That would be awesome!! " She purred happily. "I'm glad I am healed too. I'm just glad to be alive." She answered with a soft sigh.

(Okay)
"So am I," Bonefang meowed as he continued to walk along the stream. "I heard many tales of cats being killed in dog fights. StarClan must really be watching over you."

"Well here we are," he announced as he hopped on the nearer end of the log bridge. "This isn't going to be too hard for you being here where you were attacked, is it?" The thought hadn't occurred to him until just now that this might bother her.
"No. It won't." She said with a smile. " It's best not to dwell on the past but look to the future instead." She answered as she followed him onto the log bridge.

Bonefang smiled at the resilient young apprentice. "You're a very brave cat," he meowed. "No one would ever fault you for not wanting to come here again." He hopped down off the log on the side of the meadow. "You'll make a fine warrior someday. Not many cats I know of would be willing to do what you're doing." He meant what he said. It wasn't vain platitudes. His own father, Hawkstar, was afraid to go into tunnels after being buried alive in a land slide.
"Well i would rather face my fear then to run from it." She replied. "Just because I got attacked doesn't mean I have to be afraid of this place." As she leaped off the log "Thank You!!" She replied with a nod of appreciation.

"Well said!" Bonefang meowed then he turned his attention onto why they were there. The scent of rabbit was faint here at the tree log so he began to move off farther into the meadow. "I'll act as the flusher first," he told Lionesspaw as they walked. "When we find a strong scent and spot the rabbit, I'll chase it toward you. All you'll need to do is to stay in hiding until the rabbit comes to you."
"Ok." She answered as she went to find a good hiding place near by. Once she found a place she waved her tail so that Bonfang knew where to flush the rabbit too.
