Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The lankly black-and-white tom couldn't sleep. He had just been promoted to an apprentice a few nights ago, and the excitement was still buzzing through his mind every time he closed his eyes. He didn't want to go to bed now, he wanted to explore! Finally, Elmpaw gave up on the task entirely. He rose to his paws, shook out his fur, and carefully nudged a few of his neighbors as he picked his way through the den.
"Hey! Hey, who wants to go explore the territory with me?" Elmpaw whispered.
Sneezepaw had always been a light sleeper as a kit, and nothing had changed with his new promotion to apprentice. It felt like he had just fallen asleep after a long day of training, and then suddenly something had touched him. He jolted awake, head swerving to find just who had kicked him in their sleep - and then he spotted Elmpaw. "I'll go!" he whispered in reply, a smile on his scrunched up face as he tried to rise to his paws as quietly and subtly as he could.
"Yeah?" Elmpaw's eyes sparkled. This was going to be great! He didn't know Sneezepaw very well, but they'd grown up together in the nursery, and the tom had always been friendly. "Okay, let's go! I'm going to sneak out first. Wait for a little and then follow," he suggested. They couldn't look too suspicious.
The black-and-white tom darted out of the den and across the camp. He was lucky; nobody else was out, and it was easy to slip through the exit and out to freedom. Crownglass was standing guard outside of the camp entrance, but the half-deaf tomcat was facing the other way, so as long as they kept to his bad side, they would be free.
