ALLIANCES: SUNCLAN, RENEGADE REGIME, PRIMAL INSTINCT

DayClan’s territory is nicknamed StarClan on earth for it’s wide open land, plentiful prey, and gorgeous scenery. Many kittypets, ex clan cats, and other outsiders are attracted to the clans beauty like a flower is drawn to water. Glowstar, the current leader of DayClan, was an outsider captivated by the clan's gorgeous landscape. She declared that DayClan would be a neutral territory and allow any outsiders to wander freely across the land. To her it would be a crime for any cat to be deprived of DayClan’s breathtaking nature.

Due to DayClan allowing outsiders to openly roam their lands they are in tune to many different cultures. DayClan cats know how to get along with others, remain respectful, and how to diffuse uncomfortable situations. Because DayClan is between SunClan and MoonClan’s sacred lands DayClan’s land has enchanted properties. Cats in DayClan do age, but after nine moons the process decelerates.

ABOUT DAYCLAN CATS

PELTS
DayClan cats typically sport light colored pelts, but due to Revolution cats migrating into the clan black fur is now the second most common fur color. Shades of red is also very common, these lighter fur colors help cats blend into the thick wheat fields and tall wild flowers. DayClan has a massive surplus of tabbies and more kittypet purebreds than any other clan.
Rare Pelts: blue grey, grey, brown, tortoiseshell, calico

EYES
The most common eyes colors in DayClan are light green, amber, sky blue, blue green, yellow
Rare Eyes: orange, dark green, dark blue, blue, lavender

UNIQUE DAYCLAN PHYSICAL TRAITS
Some DayClan cats have one color in the center of their eyes and a halo of another color surrounding the eye. DayClan cats have also been known to have longer legs and bigger ears. These traits come in handy due to the vast territory of fields and meadows making it easier to chase prey and hear from long distances.

SPECIAL DAYCLAN RANKS

ANIMAL WHISPERERS

Animal Whisperers are in charge of maintaining the circle of life and are chosen by StarClan or in other words, every time an apprentice is added or a kit is promoted to an apprentice everyone is randomly generated to see if they get picked as an Animal Whisperer. Every moon or so a new Animal Whisperer is chosen purely by luck!

Prey Experts: Prey experts are a friend to all animals and specialize in domesticating prey species to feel comfortable around cats. This can be done through domesticating or even rapidly selectively breeding a population of friendly prey until they are domesticated. This works especially well on species with shorter life spans. The technique makes it easy for DayClan cats to catch prey, but can also be used to train animals to do specific tasks. Prey experts are also responsible for reprimanding any cat for over hunting, watch out for prey thieves, and alerting predator experts when their prey is being over hunted.
Jobs:
- Domesticating prey species through selective breeding
- Training animals
- Reprimanding cats for over hunting or stealing prey
- Alerting predators when prey is being over hunted by predators

Predator Experts: Predator experts are silent observers in charge of making sure that predators have enough food so they won’t put clan cats on the menu. They are also responsible for making sure that predators do not overpopulate. This involves predator experts making predators feel unsafe so they naturally won’t breed or even killing baby predators, some even attempt to relocate predator species. Predator experts that are warrior age are expected to take one predator in its infancy and raise it in an attempt to make it more docile. However a predator species will always run the risk of turning on a predator expert. They raise a predator in order to better study and understand the species, for this reason no predator expert can have the same species as another.
Jobs:
- Monitoring if predators are maintaining an appropriate diet
- Ensuring predators don't over populate
- Studying predators up close

MoonClan's territory is made up mostly of heavily forested terrian, with an open moorland making up their most southern touch of territory. To outsiders MoonClan's territory looks plain and simple. That's how they like it. The truth of the matter is that MoonClan is home to a lot of hidden gems and ancient secrets that they don't want the other clans to know about.

A tree located on the border with SunClan, taller and wider than any other tree in DayClan's territory. The tree grows white flowers through every season except winter. The tree provides shade and is a favorite place for cats to watch their border while relaxing with a friend. White Tree is a symbol of peace between DayClan and SunClan and is a common place for the two ally clans to spend time with one another. It has also been the birthplace of many friendships and romances between the two clans.

PREY
Humming Birds: They come out to drink up the white flowers that grow on the tree. They're fast, but if you're smart you can catch one

Woodchucks: Cats aren't the only ones who enjoy White Tree, woodchucks are found relaxing at the top of the hill, but quickly retreat when they see cats coming towards the hill.

PREDATORS
SunClan Cats: SunClan is unpredictable and have kidnapped many DayClan cats in the past so be wary when you're this close to the borders!

The Shadowhunter Academy is a run down homestead that has been left in little more than ruins. It is located on a cliff over looking the river on the Northern part of MoonClan's Territory. Many Tutors have tried to liven up the place and all have failed.

Shadowhunters sent to the Academy usually attend only for further training at the age of six moons, after being tutored in Shadowhunter basics at the Insitute until that point. Some young Shadowhunters, however, do not attend the school because their guardians simply chose not to send them, or they weren't accepted because of certain reasons, such lack of previous knowledge of Shadowhunting basics or poor physical condition. An exception to the age rule is also in some situations, as is the case with the much older students, such as Mundane recruits.

There are two 'streams' at the Academy: one for the students who were born Shadowhunters and another for mundanes (called dregs by some of the students and tutors). The curriculum for the Shadowhunters is more advanced, with classes for reinforcing their already existing skills in fighting, and Marking themselves up with runes. The Mundanes, having much more to learn to catch up to the Shadowhunters, study rudimentary combat skills, basic Shadowhunter history lessons, and memorized the finer points of the Covenant—things most of their Shadowhunter classmates already know by then. The two tracks spent most of the day in separate classes, but they began every day together at the training field.

Graduates can then choose to go on to attend the Scholomance.

PREY
Abert’s Squirrel: These black squirrels are easy to spot in the bright scenery of DayClan and are relatively large. The abert squirrel is a favorite meal for DayClan cats.

Deer mouse: Deer mice are plentiful in Cadence Valley, they've adapted to come out towards the evening in order to avoid any hunters.

Dusky Footed Wood Rat: In colder moons these rats typically burrow deep into the ground. However in warmer moons they're found wandering the forest floors in tall grass.

Eastern Cottontail Rabbit: Rabbits are extremely common in DayClan. While many cats struggle to catch them due to their speed DayClan born cats typically have long legs making it easy to catch them.

Eastern Wild Turkey: These turkeys are massive and can become aggressive, they will not go down without a fight. Because of the risky nature of hunting these animals DayClan patrols avoid hunting them unless desperate.

Greater Prairie Chicken: These chickens stay close to DayClan camp due to it being located in a more forested area. Because the chickens are a little more docile than most animals and there are few of them DayClan cats only hunt them for special occasions.

Least Chipmunk: These chipmunks are the smallest species of chimpunk, most cats agree to just leave them alone because there's not enough meat to even consider it a snack.

Meadow Jumping Mouse: These mice are surprisingly gentle to cats who approach them without menace and patience. Because of the mouse's friendly nature most DayClan cats only hunt them if there aren't any other options.

Northern Bog Lemming: These lemmings come in different colors and typically hang out near the lake.

Salmon: They are very common and massive fish that DayClan cats enjoy catching.

Yellow Pine Chipmunk: These chipmunks typically hide in bushes and trees, unless a cat has trained themselves to hunt in DayClan they are nearly impossible to catch.

PREDATORS
Badgers: Badgers are the biggest threat to DayClan cats, but so long as they don't over populate they're not too problematic. They are the most common predator in Cadence Valley.

Black Bears: Sometimes for entire years bears and DayClan can coexist together. A cat could touch a bear and the bear will do no harm because the bear has fed well. However during particularly harsh leafbares where a bear has not gotten enough food to hibernate they will become a monster towards DayClan like no cat has ever seen before. Only an Animal Whisperer is capable of saving DayClan against a bear.

Jackals: Cats call the jackals the Tribe of Shadows That Stalks and Steals, as the jackals will commonly stalk before taking a cat into their jaws and fleeing with them to be eaten in their den. Jackals will occasionally intrude into Cadence Valley, typically cats who occupy the Titans occupation and Animal Whispers will combine forces in order to drive a pack of them out. However they are a reoccuring problem for DayClan.

White Tailed Deer: Deer aren't common in Cadence Valley, but during certain seasons they will migrate their grazing grounds. While they are gentle in nature they can carry ticks and other diseases. It's suggested to stay away from their herds.

The ocean stretches wide across the east border of DayClan near the desert outskirts. Cherry blossom trees are speckled across the sandy shores for cats to hunt interesting pieces of prey. DayClan cats must be patient waiting for fish to come as not many come so close to the shores. Instead DayClan cats enjoy the fun of fishing whether they catch a fish or not.

There are various large stones scattered in different depths of the water so cats will try to swim small distances to these rocks to get a better attempt at catching fish. Be warned as the tide does come and rip tides can happen. DayClan cats tend to avoid Cherry Cove during stormy or windy weather due to how vicious the waves can get.

PREY
Exotic Fish: They are allusive, but do come towards the cove especially in hot or rainy weather.

Oldfield Mouse: The mice reside in the outskirts of Cherry Cove, however they have been known to go up to the sand to enjoy burrowing or cleaning themselves.

Taiga Vole: Taiga voles are most at home at the beach, they enjoy burrowing by grassy areas near the sand

The falls cascade through the top of Cadence Valley’s highest hill down into the field lands below. The roar of the water and fine mist that dampens your pelt, is what allures so many cats to this natural wonder. While the variety of prey is few, the prey that is there can feed four cats making it more than worthy of a hunting location. The waters surrounding Endless Falls are very shallow allowing many cats to fish easily.

Unknown to many cats there is a hidden pond at the top of Endless Falls, shielded away by rocks. Cats who find the location like to bring their best friends or loved ones up there for some private time.

PREY
Mallard Duck: Ducks are commonly found along the rivers of Endless Falls as well as resting near the pond of the waterfall. During the cold seasons flocks of ducks come to rest by Endless Falls.

Swans: They assemble in flocks and hunting them is very hard unless they're apart

Salmon: If you're lucky enough to know how to fish you can catch a big meal here

PREDATORS
Black Bears: Bears are drawn to the falls by the berries, but typically leave cats alone. However if a cat gets too close to a bear or they observe they are "stealing" their prey they will attack.

Red Foxes: Endless Falls has been taken over by a clan of foxes. At least ten of them reside in the falls territory.

The old abandoned mansion has been avoided by DayClan for generations. Cruel cats known as the Keepers live in the mansion, slaying and maiming any cat who passes through the gates. However the Keepers have not been seen in years, however there are sightings of strange cats and ghostly dogs still wandering the halls. Apprentices often dare each other to enter the mansion and medicine cats often bring warriors with them to collect herbs from the exterior garden.

HERBS
Borage leaves: Reduces fevers. Any type of borage should be used fresh, never dried. To be chewed and eaten. Great for nursing queens as it helps increase their supply of milk.

Borage Roots: Leaves and roots may be consumed to stave off fevers. Any type of borage should be used fresh, never dried.

Borage Seeds: Should be given to a Queen to help her provide more available milk. Any type of borage should be used fresh, never dried.

PREY
Evening Bat: These bats enjoy sheltering inside the Keepers Mansion. There are entire colonies that reside inside the mansion, however most DayClan cats are squeamish about catching them.

Pygmy Rabbit: With so many predators in DayClan the pygmy rabbits have found that most predators don't enter the Keepers Mansion. Because of this rabbits create burrows inside the gates of the mansion and only explore outside of it for food.

Woodchuck: Woodchucks are found nestled in underground burrows around the Keepers Mansion. They coexist well with the rabbits, but will get territorial with other woodchucks.

PREDATORS
Keepers: These cats have guarded this mansion for years, willing to and have killed DayClan cats. They haven't been spotted for years, but legend has it that when they're low on numbers they kidnap young kit or apprentice age cats, making them into Keepers

Ghosts: Ghost hounds and DayClan cats slaughtered by the Keepers haunt the maze and halls of the mansion

The quaint two-leg suburbs are charmingly colorful with dozens of yards and kittypets. DayClan cats aren’t afraid to hunt around these parts or meet new kittypet friends. All DayClan cats are urged to only visit two-leg place occasionally in order to avoid two-legs marking them as a pest problem.

HERBS

PREY
Albert Squirrel: Abert squirrels who live in two-leg place are much more plump than the ones in Cadence Valley. They are also a lot more sluggish and easy to hunt. Kittypets seem to hunt them the most.

American Red Squirrel: These squirrels are commonly found deep in two-leg place. They frequent the suburb yards and streets and are quite plump due to the two-legs over feeding them.

Elf Owl: While most owls are a threat, these tiny owls only devour large insects, making them fair game to catch.

Flying Squirrel: These nocturnal animals have the ability to glide through the air. They're typically confident in their ability to evade DayClan cats that they'll sometimes tauntingly land on a cats head before gliding away.

Meadow Vole: They're typically out in the open trying to gather food or are hiding in their burrows. They usually stay away from the two-leg neighborhood and instead live at the outskirts in the woods.

PREDATORS
Kittypets: Kittypets naturally roam their neighborhood, but some are more territorial than others of their yard. Remain vigilant and respect their territory as you would want them to respect DayClan’s!

Kit Foxes: They are common and are typically hungry scavengers who pick through two-leg trash. They will cause DayClan cats trouble by chasing them around, but luckily the two-legs don’t seem to like foxes much either. Foxes typically stay away from the two-leg place, but will hunt closer to the hill land of Cadence Valley. However kit foxes are even smaller than swift foxes so they don't poise much of a threat especially to a patrol.

Two-legs: Most two-legs are kind to the cats giving them free food or allowing them to walk around their yards, but others will chase you down or try to make you into a kittypet so be careful!

The breathtaking valley, it is truly a wonder, its elegance is matched by the backdrop of cascading waterfalls and ancient ruins that funnel throughout camp. Located in the center of camp is a large wisteria tree, known as the Wisteria Throne where the leader resides. Up on the highest hill is Pointed Stones where the leader gives announcements.

Cats live inside of the valley walls behind the waterfalls. Given DayClan’s family oriented nature, each DayClan family has their own den that they share. They do not all share one communal den and instead stick to homes with their families or by themselves. This means there is no such thing as a warriors den or nursery. However some apprentices do enjoy rooming together and have been known to make their own hangout areas. The valley is merely used as a communal space to eat food, play games, and other recreational activities.

HERB
Willow: Water from beneath the bark may be dropped into a cat's eye to cure blurriness of vision. May be applied to dry patches of skin to relieve itches. Small amounts of the back may ease pain, inflammation, and to ease diarrhea or fevers.

Mouse Bile: Used for removing ticks

Ginseng: A special herb used as a powerful adrenaline booster that grows within the camp. Bright Brigade cats put the serum onto their claws and scratch themselves in battle to gain more strength. It is used as a last resort and is a well preserved secret.

PREY
Pika Mice: The pika mice flourish here and often come up to cats without fear. They are very domesticated thanks to the Animal Whisperers and will scavenge for herbs and bring them back to camp. In turn DayClan feeds these mice often making them their own food pile at the side of camp.

Frogs: Tadpoles live in the three waterfall ponds in camp. When they become frogs DayClan is happily over populated by prey. It is banned to eat the tadpoles.

PREDATOR
Swift Fox: The swift foxes are the size of cats and while they do eat meat they are typically the same prey items that a cat eats. They can also berries. These animals are more of a nuisance and will steal prey from DayClan so DayClan does their best to collect berries for swift foxes so they won't steal their prey as much. Typically swift foxes are very docile.
